Hey loves! I hope you’re all staying safe out there. How many of you have taken the leap and relaxed your hair? How long have you been relaxed? And has anyone decided to texlax? Let’s chat in the comments. I hope you’re loving it! Xoxo
I'm currently natural just over 2 years. I really wanna love it but I've neeeeeeeever spent as much money on hair products as I do now and it's on a regular basis. And I'm a product junkie but this tew much😫 If i leave my hair out then its 2 hours of detangling daily cuz the shrinkage is disrespectful so i gotta just always keep my hair braided. Chile i ordered 2 boxes of that creamy crack and just looking for the right stylist cuz Chile i am done w/being natural i tried it hunny😆😆😫
Girl real talk there 😂😂 air drying expectation caught me off guard lol.i was 4c natural 5years, loved it learnt a lot about my hair. got busy, found less time so I decided to relax 10/2019. However 2 weeks after relaxing I deep conditioned my hair then I noticed it was under processed I thought it was reverting whilst air drying 😂. Then I realised I was texlaxed. Love it cause of the volume still. I wear wigs for bone straight look. Just looking for tips for texlaxed hair etc. I love our hair gurus out there but I just haven't seen many for texlaxed hair compared to natural and relaxed so Thanks again for the video! You are beautiful. Keep well x
I'm doing mine in a couple of weeks and tbh, it's for the look and the manageability. Like I can swim, go to the beach, use travel size containers of hair products, wear those beautiful big hats, wear my hair out, blow it out, wash and go's, the whole enchilada. I've wanted it for so long but I thought that I couldn't do it because it wouldn't really be natural. Now I'm just like, my hair should work with my lifestyle, not my lifestyle work for my hair
Thank youu! People want to give you advice to go natural as if natural hair care is the same for everyone. I love natural hair but I suck at caring for mine and I end up with a broken dried up Afro. They don’t understand that you can have healthy relaxed hair!!
I literally just bought a texture since my stylist cancelled on me, glad you posted. Im texturizing because my shrinkage literally makes me want to cry. I put so much time into a twist out or braid out or stretch wash n go and it shrinks every single time i go outside, im over it.
Sis, I have been there. I completely understand your frustration and you're not alone. I think texlaxing is a wonderful option if you're trying to reduce shrinkage but retain some texture and volume. So long as you're not looking to achieve a particular curl pattern and you're okay with some frizz, texlaxing is great. Otherwise, I'd suggest relaxing. Like I say to everyone, for texlaxing, working with a professional is best to get consistent results. It's very easy to mess up. Good luck babe and keep us posted. You can always ask me questions. I'm rooting for ya!
That switch came to me now in 2022, in 2020 I was still in fear of using heat and couldn’t enjoy the true length of my hair. But I got extremely tired now in 2022, and I know I hope to see less shedding and that I can sera wash n go’s without the fear of my hair coming back to my ears
I texlaxed my hair after 12 years of being natural. I love my texture but it’s just too tight at the root. I’m an RN now. I don’t have time for a wash DAY. More like a wash hour nowadays 😆 no regrets.
When I texlaxed my hair for the first time a few years ago I LOVED IT! Best decision ever- for me. I still had my curls and kinks. I was ready to relax my very thick hair, but decided to texlax first- it shortened my detangling time tremendously and I rocked the baddest wash n go’s all summer.
charivari85 YESSSS Texlax would the best thing that happened to my hair !!! It’s easier to manage & it just looks better! I love it :) Glad it worked for you too !
I remember texlaxing years at a time. I don't care what nobody says and u don't have to explain anything. 😊 If u want ur hair softer sometimes, go ahead and textlax. I'm doin it for my birthday again after growing my last one out. ( That was years ago) Just remember to keep it clean and protect those ends! And you'll be good. ... It doesn't have to be every month, every 27 days , every other month, just do it when u want managibility. Keep it detangled and moisturized still. 👍🏽
Yh.. People really made fun of my texlaxed hair... And some of them will say.. Oh it's gonna break🙄 I moved to a different city, Changed my saloon and got a bad relaxer so I decided to relax all of my hair. I'm definitely going back to texlaxing. Stay safe😊
It will never end boo, people always have somethin to say! I'm sorry to hear about the botched job, but I know you'll get back on track. Keep us posted on your texlaxing journey! Stay safe. xoxo
Hey! I’ve been thinking a lot about transitioning to texlaxed. I’m currently relaxed and during my last relaxer my hair was super under processed and I’ve been experiencing so much shedding. I’m going into another chapter of my life (grad school) so I think I might start a new journey with my hair. Great video!!
Thank you boo! Olaplex is great at strengthening the hair and I've also noticed less shedding using it. You may also want to consider a green tea rinse on the scalp. Check those out! And congrats on grad school! Study hard and kill it girl. We need your degree. Xoxo.
@courtney Maddox hi I noticed the same after my first relaxer after 5 years natural. I have a question so to begin a texlaxed journey would you need to either, grow it out or do a big chop? Is it possible to underprocess your hair next time your relaxer is due and do that all the time and hence be in a texlaxed journey. I hope I made sense. Thanks.
No,it depends on the texture and curl pattern of your relaxed hair prior to texlaxing. 4c hair is more puffy air dried,i air dry my texlaxed hair it comes out curly/wavy.
I agree, you do use more product on your texlaxed hair, but you don't have to blow dry or flat iron everyday, which saves so much time. I can throw a light gel in my hair and then let it air dry. I'm doing it so I don't have to spend 15 to 20 min every morning combing out knots. It's so time consuming!
I just wish I could go back and undo it. I texlaxed when I was in a highly emotional state. Now, I am transitioning back to natural. I am definitely applauding your beautiful hair. I love how beautiful your hair looks. Mine, is definitely not as healthy looking as yours. I am considering relaxing my hair straight so I can do a complete and true transition.
Aww man, I'm so sorry to hear you were in an emotional state and I'm sad your hair's not doing well. Listen, hair grows back. That's the beauty of it. I've put my hair through the ringer, so what you're seeing today is NOT where I've been. You'll get through this! Happy transition! xoxo
Think long and hard about it, my friend! You want to make sure your hair is healthy and strong enough to withstand the harsh chemical. I'd also recommend getting it done with a professional if you can. You can always ask me questions as you make your decision! Are you natural right now? How's your hair doing?
@@AlexisKimberlyy I am transitioning from relaxed to natural, I did a big chop to get rid of the relaxed ends in order to be able to start texlaxing only my natural hair. My hair is a bit short and I'm doing protective stylings for hair growth. I also did the big chop because after taking down my braids I did get alot of length but the relaxed ends kept breaking off like they weak so my hair is now natural and really short.
@@fishchicken4188 Gotcha. So maybe you should give your hair some time to strengthen up a bit. Regular trims for you is probably a good idea right now because you've experienced breakage lately. It's hard to know how far the breakage traveled up your hair shaft, so pay attention to those ends. Have you used Olaplex? I love it so much and would really recommend purchasing if you can. Then once your hair is in a healthy state, maybe consider texlaxing if you want a little less shrinkage. xoxo
I tried Tex-Lax Hair Texture instead of relaxing my hair and it ruined hair texture versus having it relaxed. I liked it at first but now i am going back to relaxer because i like the look better
I texlaxed In February or March it ruined my hair to the ground I big chopped in September and I’m almost ear length already now back to the growth journey .... also I made home made oils and that seems to do magic on my hair
So I have 3b hair and I am natural. I can pretty much work a blowout w/o any chemicals BUT! Long story short how you are describing as your texlax hair is my natural hair- so I'm thinking that MAYBE texlax could be a nice solution to tame my edges and get my hair to respond better to heat and maintaing a blowout. Thoughts?
I have been contemplating texlaxing lately . I'm not certain if I want to commit to it though. I'm a lazy natural and just started using heat and I am enjoying blow drying it.
Hey babe! I love your comment and I think a lot of women would like a response to this very issue. I will be featuring your comment in a FAQ video airing on 4/19. Check it out! Xoxo
So is this texlaxing a part of the black hair community trends because it seems like in the black hair community trend some of the women want to texlax their hair with a perm or relaxer, but they don't want to go fully committed to getting a full complete perm or relaxer so they get a half perm in their hair, or a relaxer in their hair, so they can still have a way to manage their hair but still keep their texture so they don't fully go all the way with the perm or the relaxer, and I'm just curious are the women in the black hair community doing texlaxing because in the black hair community women want other women in the natural hair community to embrace their own natural hair without putting any kind of chemicals in their hair, so some of the women that are in the black hair community does the texlaxing method to give the people in the black hair community the illusion that they haven't going all the way with the perm or the relaxer and they still have their natural hair, because they don't want the black hair community to ridicule them, or to bash them, hate on them, because they're trying to change their hair so they want the black hair community to think they haven't gone all the way and straighten their hair completely with a perm or relaxer because they still have some of their texture but they haven't fully gone all the way, just enough to manage their thick hair if it's too hard for them to deal with but they don't want it to look bone straight or sleek so people will know that they went all the way with a perm or relaxer so they texlax it so it can still have the natural look but easy to deal with, because in the black hair community trend as long as you are embracing your own natural hair that God gave you and jumping on every bandwagon that comes out and following every trend every week they're okay with you, the twist out bandwagon, the box braid bandwagon, the rice water bandwagon, the wash and go bandwagon, the coils bandwagon, the locs bandwagon, the dreads bandwagon, the onion juice bandwagon, braid outs bandwagon, you don't have to worry about being mistreated or ridiculed or bashed or hated on because you decided to change your hair texture that God gave you and try something different that you may like, and people in the black hair community or the natural black hair community act like they have a right to tell every woman how to do her hair and how to wear her own hair, because if you change your hair texture and get a full perm or a full relaxer, you are a shame of your race, you're not proud of the hair that God gave you, you're not closer to God anymore, first of all rather you have a perm or a relaxer or your natural hair I believe God is more concerned about you repenting of your sins and getting your soul right with him, then he is your hair texture, or they will say you're going against your own people. So I think that this texlaxing method that some of the women in the natural hair community or the black hair community came up is a way for some of the women that have hair that's too hard to manage and that have real thick 4c or 4b hair will to be able to manage their hair without the black hair community knowing that they have a relaxer in their hair or perm in their hair now I don't know if my comment applies to every woman in the black hair community or the natural hair community that has texlexed their hair but I believe it applies to some of them rather they admitted or not
It makes the hair more manageable while still retaining texture in the hair for the look, versatility and to keep the hair in a healthier state than fully relaxed hair. Hope that helps.
I was texlaxing before there was a word for it on my 3b / 3c Eastern European Jewish, coarse AF thick curly hair - mostly many years ago. Since the pandemic, I've stopped flat ironing it and let it go natural and only wear it up because it's a thick poofy hot mess and I have a small face. Getting it dry to flat iron it took close to 40 minutes and was a hot sweaty workout. I know I would look much better with a short tapered cut, but I'm afraid to do it because my hair sticks up like antennae and has no weight to it at all. I'm thinking that a texlax might enable me to go short, but I'm too scared.
Good information... thanks! I went 100% natural years ago, got tired of it (because couldn't get the look I wanted, too much $$ on products, etc.), so I went back to relaxing. I like relaxing but saw a texturizing product at the beauty supply today so I wanted to get some information about it.
You are so right I just did a texlax and I'm doing a growing out my hair is thick and I just have a dry bush and I hate and yes I do use alot of product. I work out every morning and my hair is just hard and feel dry. I love the short to the scalp cut. I'm trying to deal but I can't get the barbershop cause it's closed and I don't want risk going to a shop.🙁
I’m experiencing bone straight hair at my crown with curly ends after leaving my touch up in got too long. How can I revert my curls after this accident ?
I definitely was able to wash and air dry and go I literally put my products on my hair worked it in and let it dry and it was fab sooo idk maybe just different hair types versus technique
What's the difference between relaxing, texlaxing and texturizing my hair? Presently I have relaxed hair but I want to transition to texturized hair but I worried if I'm making a mistake. HELP! 😟
Phewwww chile' lmao. I wouldn't do it. I was blonde a few years ago and got a wave nouveau aafterwards. Big mistake. All my hair, dreams and tears went down the drain lol.
yess 100% why im going back to my relaxer lol...texlax is the same as natural hair in terms of you still have to do ur hair after ..when i had a full relaxer i could do my hair and it least put it in a bun and itll be fake straight by the end of the day..OH ALSO TEXLAX HAIR NEVER DRIES lmaoo
Hey babe! Thanks for watching and for your question. I will be featuring your question in a FAQ video airing on 4/19. Check it out! Short answer is, no I do not think you should put the relaxer on the entirety of your hair. I'll explain more next Sunday! Xoxo
AlexisKimberlyy yes please answer this. I used pink short looks texture softener texturizer and I always texlax after 9 months. My hair looks like it has reverted back to natural so I don’t know if I should apply it all over my hair and concentrating on roots? I’m so happy there is more people who are texlaxed
Nat Providence Happy you’re here! ❤️ Don’t worry love, I will answer this in a video coming out next week. But long story short, it sounds like you’ve under-processed your hair, even for texlaxing. An effective texlax will not revert back to your natural state. But I always caution people from reapplying relaxers/texturizers to already processed hair, because even though you’re not noticing much texture difference right now, the chemical process you did prior still broke down the bonds in your hair. That damage is irreversible no matter how long it’s been. Texlaxing that hair again may overprocess your hair, damaging it further. I hope that was helpful for you and @sharon ❤️❤️ Thanks for your questions ladies.
How many times per year do u usually textlax? I’m sooo thinking about doing this but I definitely don’t want to over process nor do I want to loose texture by not allowing the right amount of weeks to pass in between me relaxing..??? Whn I was fully relaxed I used to relax my hair every 8wks but I’m thinking that may be to much only because I’m not looking for a bone straight look...
So with texlax hair u simply dont use the full process time?. I thought it might be a new product for the hair. Also why not buy a oerm in a lower volume such as mild, ?. Grace to all
Hey!! I have been contemplating on getting finger waves for a while, I know I will have to cut my hair but anyways I’m natural. I was just wondering will I have to get a perm to be able to get finger waves or could I just get a texturizer to loosen my curl pattern after it’s cut , will that still give me the look of relaxed finger waves or will I just have to get it all relaxed?
If I were you, I'd just relax my hair. Since your hair is going to be super short anyway, it just makes more sense to achieve that straight look so that you can rock the finger waves without worrying about humidity, sweat, etc. Your hair should still be healthy, considering you'll be cutting it frequently to maintain the style! Xoxo
Thanks for the video. I am thinking of going tex laxed because I personally live my hair straight. I also wear primarily braid outs and my hair has that stretched look often. So I don't think there will be much of a difference. However. How do you know when your hair is ready for it. Like of it is at a healthy enough state to do it and not cause more damage then necessary?
Such a good question. Some things to ask yourself: Are you experiencing excessive breakage now? Are you struggling to retain length? And are you experiencing any level of thinning or excessive shedding? If so, I'd say don't relax yet. I strongly recommend building up your hair's strength before relaxing. Because in truth, maintaining length when your hair is relaxed is way harder than when you're natural. At least it was for me. Once your hair is retaining length, your ends are thick and even, and your hair is free from thinning and excessive shedding, then give it a go. If any of those things are out of wack, don't do it yet. And I always suggest doing it with a professional! xoxo

I'm interested to know what would happen to naturally curly hair if you used perm solution on it and combed it through straight rather than the normal way.
Combing perm solution through curly hair to make is straight is called a reverse perm. I had this done when I was in high school and it was extremely effective - I could blow my extremely coarse, curly hair bone straight. Unfortunately it's hard to do the touch-ups yourself and they were expensive. Also, once you've done a reverse perm, you cannot use any type of relaxer on your hair, or it will burn off because the 2 chemicals are antagonistic to each other.

@@AlexisKimberlyyI was wondering if it was because it looks so natural! Looks fantastic. It is good to have a break from the hair with protective styling.

RELAXED HAIR ENVY YASSSSSSS....thats me rn lol
Hello, can you please let me know which Texturizer you used? Thank you!
I air dry too. It’s pretty
What a great video.so positive.great look
What's the difference between relaxing, texlaxing and texturizing my hair? Presently I have relaxed hair but I want to transition to texturized hair but I worried if I'm making a mistake. HELP! 😟
It's all the same, just the process time is different.
What Texlax did you use? Thank you
Is transitionning from relaxed to texlaxed harder? Would you suggest transitionning to natural hair completely first?
Hey babe! Another good question. I will be featuring your question in a FAQ video airing on 4/19. Check it out! Xoxo
@@AlexisKimberlyy great thank you 😁
Would going blond with slightly relaxed hair be crazy?😅
Phewwww chile' lmao. I wouldn't do it. I was blonde a few years ago and got a wave nouveau aafterwards. Big mistake. All my hair, dreams and tears went down the drain lol.
@@AlexisKimberlyy 😅😅 okay thank you! I'll grow my hair natural (im fully relaxed rn), see how i handle 4c hair and choose one or the other!
@@r0dania Haha, of course! Good plan!
yess 100% why im going back to my relaxer lol...texlax is the same as natural hair in terms of you still have to do ur hair after ..when i had a full relaxer i could do my hair and it least put it in a bun and itll be fake straight by the end of the day..OH ALSO TEXLAX HAIR NEVER DRIES lmaoo
If I haven’t texlaxed my hair in 1 year, should I put the textlax on the new growth only or the entirety of the strand?
How easy is it to go from texlaxed back to natural? Would I have to do a chop or can I just stop texlaxing and let it grow out?
@Katharina Petrova Thank you
That's a great question. I was wondering that myself.
Again loved the video content!
Why thank you my love!!! Hope you're safe and well!
Yes. Thank you.
So with texlax hair u simply dont use the full process time?. I thought it might be a new product for the hair. Also why not buy a oerm in a lower volume such as mild, ?. Grace to all
Yes, I have been wondering what is texlax?
Xoxo
What product did you use
And I always suggest doing it with a professional! xoxo
Are keeping it soo real. I just subbie to u. I love your honesty, & straight forward talk!. I have not enjoyed a video since i subbie to a lady by the name of Mrs. Precious Marie. A different platform. Wigs she issuch a delight with information about her craft asu are about YOUR natural. J subbie to u right away. & i am trying to cut my subbie scrips. I will be watching for u every sunday. Thank u. Grace to all. gh
Just stepping in to say you engaging you are! I just found your channel!
I live in Arizona, thank God it is a dry heat.
How many times a year we have to texlax?
Do you mix conditioner with your tex-lax?
Girl i already did it lol
take a shot for every texlax 🤣🤣🤣🤣
I do texturise for my daughter pls beautiful I want to know what product you use for your texlise
Can i have a link where you bought your wig/hair clips?
Hey babe! A full video on this hair will be airing this Sunday, 4/12. Xoxo.
Bonjour,
Pouvez-vous me référer un salon où je peux faire le texlax ?
ans quel salon vous avez fait le texlax ? A Paris/Île de France ?
Je recherche mais en vain...
Merci par avance de votre aide 😊
I want to texturize my hair cos it's really hard to comb also i spend soo much time on it. Any advice
Make sure your hair is healthy enough to withstand the chemical or your hair will brake off.
What is your natural hair texture?
Your so gorgeous 😍😍
If i texlax while my hair is straighten, will it come out straight?
Yes
Yep..my new growth is texlaxed…but my ends are straight because I relaxed my hair 3 months before the texlax lol
Lol you spoke the truth!
Why thank you darling lol!
She sounds like Kristyn Alexis a little.
Where did you purchase the wig?
It is beautiful...
Thanks babe! It's from Her Hair Company.
Video on this hair airing this Sunday, 4/12! Xoxo.
But this is a wig isnt it? Love the info.
Yes it is! Thanks for watching my love. Xoxo
@@AlexisKimberlyyI was wondering if it was because it looks so natural! Looks fantastic. It is good to have a break from the hair with protective styling.
@@___Victoria_sunny Thank you!! Yes, I've been protective styling for about a month now. I'm actually due for a relaxer, but who knows when that's going to happen... So, protective styling it is!
@@AlexisKimberlyy next time youll have to sit the relaxer for more than 12 minutes. Remember to moisturize a lot so you wont experience any breakage
@@___Victoria_sunny Thanks for the tips, you're absolutely right!
You lost me at air drying is dead 😩😩
Again what is texlax!?. Grace to gh
Go Google damn people!!!
