I’m gonna try this. I relaxed my hair a week ago after being natural for 4 years and I’m still caring for it like it’s natural (wash, moisturize, braid it down and wig it 🤦🏽‍♀️).

      Same here.
I was natural from June 2018 to june 2019 and now that I'm permed again I have to relearn my hair

Keep doing it sis 🥴 just don’t braid too tight or try flat twists instead, less tension+more space for hair to shed

I like how you explained moisturizing relaxed hair every night. I have to moisturize my hair nightly as well. If I skip a night my hair will be desert dry & I will have to "juice" it up in the morning. It pays off with strong, lf you want it long & healthy hair.

    *hey Questions:*
    1. how often do you relax your hair?
1b. how often do you wash your hair?
    2. is your natural hair 4C or 4B?
3, how many box cream did you use for your first relaxed treatment
    4. which hair relaxer do you use
    5. can you provide a rundown of the list of products you use, I watt o follow someones routine
I've been natural for 4 years now, it stopped growing after 2 years and now it's just falling off and breaking with traction alopecia because of wigs I wear for "protection" because it's 4c extremely hard to manage I didn't anticipate the upkeep and I just want healthy manageable hair is all.. I don't even care about length

    • @HealthyHairJunkie
      @HealthyHairJunkie  5 років тому +6

I relax my hair every 14-16 weeks.
      I shampoo weekly.
My natural hair is 4b/4c in different areas
I'm not sure how many relaxer boxes I used
I explain my regime in more detail including the products I use in my healthy relaxed hair regime video, you should definitely check it out xx

You can't thicken your hair, the thickness is based on your genetics, how many strands you have. You can flat iron in bigger sections and stretch your relaxers longer for your hair to appear thicker.

This. Is the length my hair is now....I've tried to grow it longer to no avail. My hairstylist knows nothing rather than relaxing the hair, wash off and come back to wash off which she calls that setting. She said I have a thick hair that's why is not growing. It could potentially throw of your moisture protein balance overtime (unlikely tho but ya never know) and of course weigh your hair down and lead to product buildup in the hair shaft. However if you wash your hair properly and clarify monthly you’ll be fine :)

Your hair should be dry after 4 days, you just have to remoisturize it. This is normal for our hair texture which is naturally super dry. There is no super moisturizing product that will give you moisture for more than a few days. I'd recommend finding a cheaper product that can work for you in between your salon visits. You gotta put in the work to keep your hair healthy.

I DONT KNOW IF IM THE ONLY ONE THAT DOES IT BUT I PUT A PEA SIZE AMOUNT OF MOISTURIZER & OIL IN THE PALM OF MY HANDS. RUB MY HANDS TOGETHER AND DISTRIBUTE THE PRODUCTS IN MY HAIR...WASTE LESS TIME ⏰

I am Brazilian living in USA. My Americans girl friends used to ask how come my hair , that is also relaxed, was always so bounce and shine and sleek. I didn’t know what to say until the day we all traveled together. I was scared how many hair products, and oils, and God knows what else they applied on hair at bed time.. I understood why it looked so dull and stiff and almost fragile. It was just too much. I only have a tiny bit of a very light oil on the tips ends of my hair to wrap it with a silk cap and not even every night..thats it... I (we as Brazilians) only used all the hair products on wash day: the pree-poo, hot oil on scalp, deep conditioning, and so on... After that, we leave the hair alone.. NO PRODUCTS till the next wash day. I am 54 years old and my hair is below my shoulders and I trim it every 3-4 months..I hope it helps..

What does their nationality have to do with it? There are plenty of Americans with longer hair than you (look on UA-cam) stop generalizing, America is made up of many different races and we definitely don't all do the same thing

Why you people talk too much before going to the point?
