      @C RD if you wash your hair with shampoo or any other chemical then by your standards you're not natural. I bet you not washing your hair with rain water so stop

    Has anyone else been procrastinating on washing their hair and thinking of just getting a texturizer or straight up relaxing it?
    I'm sitting here with an itchy scalp. 😭

    I too lost the natural battle but feel as if I won the war with my hair after I texlaxed last night!!! my hair just felt healthier and easier to manage. I have been natural since 2010 but due to my stylist putting too much heat in my hair I had severe heat damage on my ends and they looked relaxed. I watched like a million videos the week prior (not literally) and received so many tips. I used Silk Elements lye regular w/ Shea and I mixed ORS conditioner and olive oil in my relaxer. I put olive oil and conditioner on my straight ends and sectioned each section in thirds twisting the hair I didn't want relaxed so I knew where to stop the relaxer on my hair shaft. I based the hell outta my scalp with motions relaxer base and put vaseline all over my face neck and back!!! Lol I didn't want to take any chances!!! I relaxed the back first and washed it out in 10 min. I was scared to reconstruct before neutralizing so I washed with the neutralizer twice 1st then applied the Apoghee 2 min reconstructor, rinsed, neutralized again until suds were white, then added more reconstructor and let it sit while I relaxed the front. I did the same thing to the front and let the 2 min sit for 5 mins before rinsing it all out. The textured pattern came out perfect!!!!! I mixed the silk elements conditioner mayonnaise and shea moisture deep condition mask and put all this in my hair and twisted 3 sections and left in overnight under condition cap. during the entire process I did not comb or brush my hair while wet to keep from pulling it in its newly texlaxed state. in the morning I will rinse out and use Herbal Essence Hello Hydration to detangle and comb under running water. I know this is lengthy but I wanted to share some ideas used that make this process so easy being my 1st time. Thank you for your inspiring and extremely helpful video!!!!!

    yo the comments made me not wanna do nothing with my hair😔 dont dye it...dont texturize...dont perm it...no s curls...no jerry curls...cuz even though its my own hair growing out of my head, it wont be considered natural if I put a chemical in it...i dont like the natural hair community, sorry

    • @Jossette888

      Natural means natural as in not using chemical to change the hair's natural structure. Duh lol

    • @kaylon7996
      @kaylon7996 5 років тому +25

      @Faraji That makes no sense. If you put a chemical in your hair, it's not natural. It's not hypocritical for the natural hair community to say that, because it's true.

    • @wayawuffin
      @wayawuffin 5 років тому +45

      well, it wouldn't be natural anymore, but i think that's fine! i think the issue comes in when people start shaming other people about THEIR decision they made with THEIR own hair. like, the texlax definitely is not affecting you in anyway sis, i promise 💀 its not contagious, and you don't have to get one if you don't wanna

    Girrlllll, I'm right after you! I'm thinking about doing this next year, when I hit my 4 year mark. Because this is too much. It's impossible to work with and no styles ever last. I've resorted to only wearing weaves and wigs. Can't wait to finally do this texturizer 😩 I just don't want it to get stringy 😭

I’m hesitant to texturize my waist length hair, myself and & have “trust issues” regarding if a stylist would be able to texturize my hair to the desired texture.

      We dont know what natural is. It really is something untouched. So all of the so called naturals, who put so much of this and that (to condition, manage, tame, beautify or whatever we want to call it) in their hair; that is not natural. Why cant we just say stuff like permless or not relaxed so people can just realize that it is a choice or preference, not some immoral code to being a black person with hair. And I am without a perm or relaxer. But I realize either way that we all do toil over outter beauty to some degree and it's not always wrong.

    You did it the correct way, a lot of people put it on their roots first not know that the roots process faster than the ends, your supposed to apply it to the tips first then the roots!!

    My hair texture changed. Couldn't figure out why cause I was religious with my deep conditioners when needed. Turned out I needed a protein treatment. My curls came back after using the Aphogee two step treatment.

    I want to do this because of shrinkage and to keep my hair strands from creating single strand knots. I can moisturize and oil up and still have the knots break my hair. I could cut them out but when I have to wash again, they come back. It's SUPER annoying. I also recently grew my bleached hair out, but my hair is still not what I'm wanting it because of the shrinkage creating the knots.

    since it’s easier to manage, would u day this promoted hair growth? i feel like my 4c hair has been at the same length for a while due to high maintenance & me not taking the time

    My hair is the texture of your hair after you texturized it BUT it's extremely frizzy and will turn into an afro not long after it dries and I've tried gels and a whole lot of stuff to prevent it but nothing seems to work. I want to Texturize in order to maybe try breaking up some of my more coiled pieces of hair and make wearing it natural easier. Do you think if I were to texturize my hair would just run straight and I'd lose all curl pattern or do you think it'll just make it easier to manage??

    Someone, preferably the OP, please give me some insight. My hair looks just like hers before like I straighten it or something and I have NO CLUE why or how my texture turned into that. Can someone give me insight. What could have happened and what can I do to get my elasticity, etc. back? TIA.

    • @P_Belle
      @P_Belle 6 років тому

      Davyda Overby - do you use heat? (Blow dryer, flat iron). Heat will effect elasticity . Also, overall good health helps (low stress, low sugar, clean food). Some people add collagen: like biotin.

    If you use the entire activator and "dilute " it wish conditioner, if you use the entire mixture then there was no dilution. It'll be the same amount of activator in the end
