With only seven of these beautiful cars sold by Raffo Cars in Southport, it definitely deserved better. One of my favourite kitcars this, the Raffo Belva
I owned an Alfa boxer-engined Raffo Tipo 12, which was a real laugh - it looked, to be blunt, bloody awful and very amateurish, but the chassis was fantastic and it was great fun harassing Porsche 911 drivers down twisty roads. The Belva was a missed opportunity for me - I was seriously looking to buy a kit when John Raffo (who is no longer with us, sadly) decided to retire back to Italy.
I agree with all that. I would love to find a Tipo 12 owner to do a video. Do you have photos of your car for a Kit Car Shorts video? My email is enwinseats@gmail.com
To be fair most people seem to like the styling and not everyone wants a supercar. This car is very light and compact. On tight twisty British roads this is a better recipe for fast progress. I have driven the original prototype and it is plenty quick enough as a rival for an MX5 or a Lotus Elise
Stunning, I'd love to see a video on it.
Definitely
It is a nice car. I have one that is being rebuilt and now on a sylva chassis. A few short vids on my channel but will try and upload some more.
@@xetosgt I have seen your car. Drop me an email when it's finished and we can shoot a video enwinseats@gmail.com
@@enwins getting there slowly, it is a long process
Only design element i disliked from the belva was the headlights. Much better done with the raffo barchetta
@@1183newman I admire anyone who manages to create a Kitcar. I agree about the headlamps but still a beautiful design
Wouldve loved to have one, does anyone have the rights to it?
@@HoverLambo yes, but they have no plans to bring it back

An example of trying too hard and so obviously a kit car. Over styled and under powered.
