What really impresses me is the enthusiasm for competitors' products. This reflects well on everyone at MK.
Thank you - we’re super passionate about the product and the industry. Is anyone else like this?
@@MKSportscarsofficial Can you register these in North America or the EU? Does it have a VIN and initial registration that can be carried over?
@@electricaviationchannelvid7863 yes to the USA - we have a dealer there www.mksportscarsusa.com
We are working on EU registration
The kit car scene is healthy then. Good to see.
It’s manic busy
I would love to see someone bring out a Sunbeam Tiger MK II kit car.
I am over the whole Cobra replica scene with the amount of Cobra replicas becoming tiresome and I can't think of a more deserving car than the Sunbeam Tiger MK II to be turned into a kit car.
Electric kit cars will be the next thing I would imagine.
😎🇦🇺
My father had a real Tiger from 1965 until he passed away in 2015.Loved it.
This is just what Americans who are capable of such projects need right now, as long as they're affordable to build. Vehicle prices are through the roof and Detroit definitely needs some competition.
I'm old enough to have lived through the VW based dune buggy era. They were cheap, easy to build and were lots of fun too. Even the stock VW engine performed well. A lot of people can do quite nicely without exotic engines.
If I was younger I'd take a project like that on.
We have a dealer in the US - www.mksportscarsusa.com
A mid engined kit car is much more manageable today from my viewpoint. The number of FWD drivetrains with decent power in a lightweight chassis. One l can think of would be a Chrysler 3.5 from an Intrepid. Another is the FWD LS. Plus any number of 4 cylinders.
I wish we could get more of these kits in the states.
You can - we have a dealer in Louisiana called www.mksportscarsusa.com
Great to see the ins and outs of Malvern kit car show!
Thank tou
Really cool looking Cobra Reps.. but I wish they'd lose the low profiles.. I know handling is improved.. but they just look all kinds of wrong on that body style.. IMHO..
Fully agree, I much prefer the older style wheels & tyres
Those are just for trendy looks. I agree, they are not the correct tires for that car,
I love my s2000 powered Indy rr, but being in the USA still makes me envy things like that k20c1 car, but no one else will deal with USA buyers, again thank you for being so great to deal with for buyers outside the uk!!
I think the K20C would drastically change the characteristics of your Indy RR, you currently have what is arguably the best N/A Inline 4 ever made...your car is very special and will undoubtedly have very special driving characteristics which only the F20C would be able to provide.
Thanks dude - we now have a dealer out there www.mksportscarsusa.com
Love the enthusiasm. We might need a proper show here in East Anglia...
I built my own Exocet! Great bit of kit, love it but the British weather means it’s only done 250 miles in 2 years!!!!
You're not made of sugar you know. (What my ex used to say to me when she wanted to go out in the rain 🙊)
Love the channel, love the cars, pronounced Mol - vurn guys, just for reference for next year 👍
lol - that’s the Essex accent
Bloody hell. When I were a lad kit cars used to be the cheap option!
The 111 and no 4 Cup 200 are super good looking race cars. Congrats on a great show.
Thanks - you should come and see them in action. We’re at Anglesey next month (July)
Thanks for the video. Been to the kit car show quite a few times. But so many Cobra and Lotus 7 lookalikes ….. wish there was a bit more variety. Good day out though 👍
You need to come next year
Win the lottery. Buy them all. 8 )
Awesome kits on show. Thanks!
Glad you like them!
Nice to see that the scene is still healthy, probably a bit better than the Countach based on a Beetle, or E type based on ford era.
Interesting you mention the Lamborghini - is there a kit to build a Countach still being produced?
Thank you for bringing us around the show.
I was not able to attend this year.
There’s loads we didn’t get - but you’ll have to come next year (or come to Newark in Sept)
Das sieht ja sehr gut aus.
Eine sehr schöne Schau.
Germany
I want a Messerschmidt (or however that's spelled) kit car with a CBR1000 engine or some kind of V4 out of a motorcycle in it. Tiny car (500lbs), tiny V4 with about 120hp and 100-140ft.lbs. of torque=perfection!
I'll take one of each.❤❤ cool show👍👍
Where do I send the invoice ?
Lancia Stratos look-a-like kit is the cat's pajamas!
The Lotus 7 will not die.
Great video as usual!
Just for info, we at the Westfield Sports Car Club do welcome other "seven" type cars. For example, you can see two in the video (A Luego next to the Mazda Turbo and a R1 engined MNR opposite). We also had your ex-demo lime green Duratec engined Striker on the stand, now owned by a WSCC member
That’s great news - that needs to be circulated so everyone knows. Happy to help spread the word.
Cobras 🐍 and GT40 do looks awesome 😎
They’re proper garage porn. Beautiful looking cars - and the seven silhouette car isn’t too shabby either.
Too Bad California makes it so FN hard to Built or Mod Cars. Time to Move!
,
The blue one with the white stripes looks like a Scarab race car.
I see you skipped by the Rochdale a really nice early kit rare as hens teeth as a kit car I would love one!👍
Interesting more than exciting. Sean is enthusiastic, but sometimes he's not sure what he is showing us. The 'Tipo', for example, is the Tipo 184, a replica of a 1930s Alfa Romeo racer, devised and built by, yes, Ant Anstead. Also, there were one or two quite novel items glimpsed but not introduced, such as what appeared to be a Cobra coupé and what might have been some kind of van?
You can be so happy, that you don't have a TÜV in GB ❕😅
Here in Germany it's very difficult to get it street legal 😢
Love from Berlin,
Ramsi 🙋🏻♂️
We are working on this - watch this space….
Yeah. So much for a 'European Union'.
@@Ramsi-Berlin we are working on this…
@@MKSportscarsofficial Really ❔
Oh man 😯
Looking at the design and construction of kit cars I concluded that some are sketchy. Having a background in Offshore Welding where the safety level is 1..6, and all welds are carefully Inspected, I see shabby quality standards in Kit Cars.
Dude walks right past the Lotus Eleven replica. The scene needs more variety rather than just more Sevens, Cobras, and GT40s.
This. The 90s called and want their kit car show back. I went to shows 30 years ago and it literally looks like very little has changed 😞
I went last year, a shadow of the Stoneleigh show, shame.
It’s only going to be a shadow if people don’t turn up and support the industry.
Next show, come and bolster the numbers - it might actually surprise you
@@MKSportscarsofficial I've built 3 kit cars but moved over to Lotus 15 years ago. Last year was the first in all those years. Difficult times I think.
You can buy now a good Ferrari for 60K, or an excellent E-type. Gone are the days of a 120 pound Mini Marcos body to convert your old Mini Van in a weekend. These kits are really expensive.
A lotus 7 replica with 300+ HP will wipe the floor with any Ferrari/Porsche 😅 also a 60k Ferrari will bankrupt you 😅
@@hhkk6155 Cars are not for wiping floors and ,if you dont know what you are doing , then any car can bankrupt you. At the end of the day a Lotus 7 replica (I do own a factory Lotus for over 45 years) is not exactly in the same league or comfort as a Ferrari, although they can be fun. I also have a 450 HP Jaguar XKR and it did not cost 60K.
@@awalk5177 it's a racecar channel, and it's not about comfort
@@hhkk6155 "Kit car" my boy, Kit car.
@@awalk5177 kit car is more of a racecar than a lousy Ferrari 😂
so... what was the car next to the morgan lookalike?
Where in the film is this?
@@MKSportscarsofficial fair point, sorry, at 13:17 next to the sabering.
@@simtalkayakare you talking about the yellow mini based car?
@@MKSportscarsofficial that's behind the Austin Healey replica. Next to the Sabering/Austin Healey is a little red Coupé that isn't looked at in the video.
12:30 what is the red car with the bonnet and rear hatch open in the centre of the shot?!
I built a kit car over 40 years ago and most of these bodies were around then, I would expect things might have moved on.
Please ask a local how to pronounce Malvern ! 😊
I built a JC Midge in the 80's but had to sell when i emigrated to Australia in 1989. sad, hey?
Who was the manufacturer of the long wheel base Cobra?
Xcs design
Cool cars, but the steering wheels are all on the wrong side.
Not over here they're not. 😅
@@stanleybuchan4610 OH, never mind.
They are kit cars, you can stick the steering wheel wherever you like.
Can you provide an updated website kitcar related?
www.mksportscars.com
What a pitty there is no Davrian😊
Can you get these in the USA?
Yes we have a dealer in the US called www.mksportscarsusa.com
What really impresses me ,is how ridiculously over priced it all is, far removed from the original reason for a kit car😂😂😂
It’s almost like the kit car market has just increased in price for the sake of it and the rest of the world (bread, milk, postage stamps and houses) have just frozen in time and not increased at all….
Why are all your steering wheels on the wrong side? lol
It’s because we filmed this in the “selfie” view… 😂
Sorry mate not funny. Find something original.
this was more like clone war of the Shelby Cobra's than a mixture of different kit cars. nothing stood out all primer coating and no color. had a larger selection of brands in the 1980's to pick. this was feta gone bad.
☝️😮👌✔️✔️✔️👏👏👏
Ahhh... the 'I have No Money' convention !
Welcome, come in and sit down.
Can I make you a Tea or Coffee?
Pretty disappointing from my perspective. Nothing new or original. Just a bunch more versions of Chapman's Seven, Shelby's over grown AC Ace Cobra, some old rehashed VW stuff, a Lancia Stratos replicar and a dumpster on wheels.
Not one of these 'kit cars' is suitable for someone to use as a commuter vehicle. They are garage ornaments and Sunday cruisers, when it's sunny. Have the DVLA regulations killed the kits to restyle production cars, or are people just too lazy and pull a body mold of someone else's old vehicle. I was not impressed. Just the same old, same old stuff.
But, but, Tesla Plaid you will never see in your rear view in one of those. 1000hp and AWD cannot be beat and $75k with a warranty, top critter.
Teslas are fugly man.
Lots of talk but no tech details , just a passing mention of the Hawk Stratos car. Waste of time😊
What would you like to see next year?
Could have been a brilliant video if we didn't have to follow your backside all the time.
Cameraman panning little hurriedly to keep up with you, jeez man the video is not supposed to be about YOU .
Well, we tried this before and no one liked it, so we went back to what works - and hey presto it works
@@MKSportscarsofficial 👍 yup everything is good
I can't hear you
Why do they are ways look like a lotus or a cobra or a ford gt40 boring
Because they work
@@WarriorOfEden3033 Don’t you think they could use a little more imagination 😟
@@redmondial yeah just what works works
Presumably because they are the 'affordable ' versions of cars people dream of owning. I can't see in the future, people dreaming of owning a kit car Tesla.
@@markrainford1219 your dead right with that one 😂
So where are the cars ? I didn't see anything but overpriced dune buggies
Trot on.
crap plastic cars , with power plants built to go in real cars ,
Oh nothing the car is made from plastic… do you mean crap composite cars? #justchecking
... Good show. You never covered the Gtm coupe 😎!.
Unfortunately they were on the outside where we didn’t go - we can’t show the whole show as there would be nothing left for potential visitors next year.
The only way to see the whole show is come next year.
Nothing new or audacious.
In Ontario Canada insurance companies will not insure kit cars.
They will not even insure Meyers Manx.
We have customers who have cars in Canada 🇨🇦
@@MKSportscarsofficial
Just stating a fact for Ontario
No Triking?
We didn’t go around the outside completely- if you want to see this, you’ll have to come next year or to Newark at the end of the season.
