Yes, this is a great thing to see, Portnoy playing DT songs again and it’s glorious. BUT Is nobody going to comment on the fact that it took three talented guitar players to play Petrucci’s parts?
I think that wasn't a "mistake" he did it on purpose probably because they were going to do it that way but in the end the rest forgot or something, he did this with dt before from what I've seen, so that or muscle memory kicking in
VERY VERY VERY GOOD BAND!!! MANGINI IS VERY TECHNICAL BUT WATCHING PORTNOY YOU CAN SAY THAT HE IS UNDOUBTELY VERY GOOD AT FEELING THE SONG AND HIS ARMS MOVE VERY EASY THROUGH EACH PART THE WHOLE DRUM SET. MANGINI IS MORE ROBOTIC. I MISS HIM PLAYING THOSE SONGS...
@@Hydeny13 I just asked my self the same question. These guys nailed every single note, and I definitely would have heard a mistake if there would've been one. I don't think people realize how hard it is to be so tight going through all of these, all the while maintaining this free flow feel that it has (talking through Dance of Eternity). There wasn't a mistake to be found, and on top, it sounded so natural and it WAS very authentic.
@@JustinOhio i'm a drummer, played this song probably hundred times by now, I can easily spot his mistake at the beginning and before the honky tonk parts around 1:29
You guys mumbling about three guitarists, please stop. Portnoy is playing with the whole band (Haken), except the drummer, and they just happen to have three guitarists. The guy who normally plays lead is very accomplished. Maybe he's not as great as Pertrucci, but it's not far off.
No, DT is DT...Portnoy has grown beyond them and I'm glad as he's put out the best music of his life since he left. The Neal Morse Band albums are nothing short of amazing and I'm so thankful for them.
@@sareh505 orang bego komen, pahami, mangini hanya ngecover, jadi gabisa enjoy kalo main, beda sama portnoy, dia buat lagu otomatis dia 100% nguasai jadi pembawaannya enjoy
I am pity of him. Wants to play dream theater's song with other musician, so feel weird is he was a drummer of who owned that song but he played with other band and in a lower event. Hahahahaha
I was at one of these shows, and I’ve also seen Dream Theater three times...sorry to say but the MP show was better. Way more energetic crowd, not to mention better vocals, and to hear three layers of guitar was incredible. Haken & Eric Gillette did a great job filling in for the band.
He miss to play dream theater song but he cant do that because he is not a part of dream theater anymore so what he can do is playing with non professional band.
The drummer is good enough to be with Dream Theater
🤣🤣🤣
Right, they should've invited him to The Spirit Carries On drummer auditions.
A lot better than their current drummer, ha.
@@PaulBenjaminJenkins dont get why people so unhappy with Mangini :(
I think you’ll be excited to know, he got the job 😉
Now I realize that no one can replace Labrie
Lol....somehow this is true
Facts 🙌🏻
100% true . He is Getting Older. Wish Him a healty Life. 🔥
When we hear someone else sing DT song, then we'll realize that he is the voice of the band
Huge respect for James LaBrie
Agree. I don’t dig this vocalist covering DT at all.
Corny
Now I realize that no one can replace Labrie
With 80 years old Portnoy still Will be the best drummer.
Yes, this is a great thing to see, Portnoy playing DT songs again and it’s glorious. BUT Is nobody going to comment on the fact that it took three talented guitar players to play Petrucci’s parts?
Or he just want to play with his friends from Haken and Eric.
Thanks for this dude, i was up the front and needed a diff perspective of this magic night!
Never thought portnoy would make a mistake playing dance of eternity 😲😲
there's almost the same mistake on the Live Scenes from NY DVD. can you play it flawlessly?
oh....I meant his "mistake" at 1:29 sorry. :-)
I think that wasn't a "mistake" he did it on purpose probably because they were going to do it that way but in the end the rest forgot or something, he did this with dt before from what I've seen, so that or muscle memory kicking in
yeah, you're probably right. that's why I wrote "mistake" ;-)
Not a big deal, but the mistake is around 0.31 second. Snare was out of time. I still wish I could play like this legend.
15.1.2019..best cover of Finally Free..Mike Portnoy.. still you are the best..
That was insane
Salute to Mike! Respect for the band!
And this right here shows why LaBrie is the voice of DT.
iLove This
That Keyboard player is damn good.
Can't be easy to nail Jordan's parts.
He does it effortlessly.
His sounds are way worse
@Strato13 I must have something wrong with my ears. I don't think it was effortless, Dance of eternity was a mess.
3 guitarras para cubrir a Petrucci, Labrie irremplazable, Portnoy impecable como siempre…
Es que Petrucci es un dios. Tres guitarras y más son necesarias para eso
POTNOY my hero!
GREAT COVER

Probably the reason you're here 13:39
3:33-4:04 😎
Where did Mike find this band of up and coming proggy baristas?
🔥🔥🔥
Mike - I love ya right, but getting three guitarists to replace Petrucci - spot on.
Wanna hear that Fortune In Lies
Eric Gillette on Lead. His influence came from John Petrucci, so he says.
"john petrucci be like" looking so many guitarist in this video hahahaha
If the guitar player that does the leads grows his hair, and his beard out a bit more, he'll not only just play like John, he'll LOOK like John lol!
James LaBrie might’ve been on to something...
so i hear you like labrie now?
he legend, when he do mistakes who care ? :))
i wonder where's the mistakes part? 🤔

Lars is better
Are they Haken's bassist and guitarist? Legends
And keyboardist
And vocals
I liked to hear Dream Theater song with Mike Portnoy's and other musicians rather than Dream Theater with other drummer :(
Could be Portnoy and all Stars. Like Ringo and his All Starr Band. or Portnoy and Friends.
Yes... actually i miss kevin moore... if both of them plays in one stage with DT songs
it seems Mike stole whole Haken members from Raymond lol
So...mike wanted to replace james, really? Dt without labrie is nothing.
3 guitar players = 1 John Petrucci

Ele errou em 0:31? LOL
Uma vez tem que errar
Acelerou tbm 😂
Nice than Dream Theater with other drummer..like Mike Portnoy..
nah. not really
Is this Peter Gillete?
Eric Gilette, he plays in the Neal Morse Band and is also a solo artist. Great guitar player!
So it needs 3 guitarists to takes petrucci's place. What a God !
James can do a better job than this guy....
Ross is singing all the high parts that Labrie can only manage in the original studio recording. Mad respect to Ross for his incredible effort here.
My Top 3 & 100 drummer( alive) of all time.
1.Mike Portnoy
2.Marco Minnimenn
3.Joey Jordison
100.Mike Mangini
Good joke ! 🤣🤣🤣
se for pra tocar finally free e não fazer algo como esse final na bateria é melhor nem tocar... ;)
😅😅
so so cover band.. DT is better..
3 guitarist r u kidding..
Yes, the band that plays with MP has three. This is not a question of "how many do we need to simulate Petrucci"
To much action.. He make a mistake..

not unprofessional.. just lower level.. you know, bar playing level..

The best drummer ever....but why does he dress like a homeless person.
Being bandless is the same as being homeless my good man
