Im so happy you finally bought one, the P38 doesn’t get as much credit as it deserves to be honest. I have a 2001 DHSE in blue with a creme interior and i love it to bits (obviously ignoring the trouble with the air suspension) and i would never sell it. Hope you enjoy it 👍

I absolutely love my 2002 4.6 in Bonatti Grey with 140,000 miles on it! Had to replace the water pump and a few small odds and ends but it has been great since I picked it up a year ago.

The Hobbit says you might need an intervention. But joking aside, we had the exact same model, just had different wheels. It cooked up a couple of times towing the wood chipper home, and didn’t have the time to take the head off, it also needed a new rad and water pump. Work was getting in the way of repairs.

Nice work Sam, another awesome purchase! I’ve not long bought a P38 off of a family member at grand price of £500, it is also the 2.5TD HSE and has been quite well looked after, I’ve given it a full fluid and filter service, belts, 4 new all terrain tyres, decat, remap and a straight thru exhaust! All helps with the extra ponies, remap takes it up to about 175bhp I think… Can’t wait for further episodes on the 38, keep up the good work!

Awesome! I loved my 2.5dse manual, in 2 years of ownership the only issues were a seized rear caliper and a faulty alternator. Plenty of go for a 90s 4x4. I do feel they get a lot of hate that they don't deserve, probably because they fall into that era where people were terrified of anything more complex than a relay. Love the colour combination, didn't know you could get tan leather in a 38!

Had it for a couple of years now and works peachy both with apple iphone and Ipod and android. If I setup a playlist in my ipod, once in that playlist can even use the steering wheel controls to change track. If you want any detailed info, give me a shout. All the best with the new project.

Great content looking forward to watching the progress on the P38. Are there any upgrades you have in mind for the engine.

Cheers, I'm possibly going to look into tuning boxes for it but generally it'll just get a good service and tune up.

My Epsom green 2.5 resto has gone to the back of the queue due to my L322 needing the chain guide fix etc.. I have had a few P38 over the years after Classics and Three door. After restoring and owning classic cars I find Range Rovers the easiest cars to work on with good spares prices and great owners clubs. I can't think of any other marque which offers such a comprehensive support network for owners? Unlike my Sunday driver classics I would happily use an old P38 as my daily.... L322 relegated to Sunday driver!

Im possibly buying one of these a 1994 4.6 v8 150000 miles LPG conversion, runs and stops as it should, downside is the interior cluster lights, speedo etc have stopped working. Bin told this could be the ecu
I can have it for £600, i dont know but that sounds cheap to me so may just bite the bullet and buy it haha

Well if I'm in the 1K remaining on the road club, long may it live.
why do you think swapping the OEM inlet to the metal type would be an upgrade.
