Guys, incase if you guys are not aware already:
- Thor retired from Strongman in 2020 after his 10th Iceland's Strongest Man title.
- For 30 months, he never trained anything remotely heavy, but only Boxing specific training. Daily calories went from 10k to 5k, lots of cardio, endurance work and boxing training. He went from 205 (452) to 145 (320) bodyweight.
- Now he is gradually getting used to Heavy weights again. These are not show off lifts, but getting your body adapted to weights again. His plan is to is put up a 1000 kg raw total in another 28 days. 🤞🏻
- His current bodyweight is 159.5 (351.5).
Dude thinks he's hafthor's manager... 🤣🤣🤣
He is also not using or reducing his drug usage, btw do you have more info on that ? Looks like he is taking more of a careful approach, he seems off drugs or on something less intense.
I see you in the comment section of almost every video about hafthor and not just on this channel either…
@@veltaz9961 you have no clue about that... Total speculation
@@think7220 he's in love with him
So now He can Do 1 push up
Best 1 today
Maybe 10... Or 12 to total failure
I can’t find the video anymore but at Iceland’s strongest man a couple years ago, there was a stone over bar event. Thor’s opponent was struggling and Thor was just casually repping out push-ups on his knuckles in the meantime. He then proceeded to rep the stone 10 times beating the following two competitors that were up against him.
Found it!
My misremembered it a bit though.
ua-cam.com/video/v-aOUWWg9f8/v-deo.html
Thor is a lot lighter than before and did massive bodyweight and jump rope workouts for boxing , he can definitly crank many push ups , i don't know why you hate .
Dude has not struggled with a lift since making his comeback
He is getting his body used to lifting heavy again with low RPE work
@@doomslay3r964 you know what, I didn’t even think that would be a thing you’d need to do after not lifting heavy for a while
Although benching is definitely partially determined by body weight , it can also backfire . Thor’s super wide frame is limiting his leverages on the bench by how “tight” he can set up . Hence we saw haack who has smaller but more optimal frame for the BP hence the numbers haack can move . Although , there are plenty more factors affecting thor.
This just goes to show how insanely strong julius is
Edit: on his bench of course
nah, it just shows how important is arm length for the bench. Strength is not that different
@@pocangel julius benches twice as much, saying that is only because of arm length is ignorant. Thor is taller so his potential to build strength is actually higher
This is ignoring two massive difference. One this is not Hafthors bench PR. This is Hafthors bench PR post massive weight loss. His actually PR is 250 kg in competition. Second Hafthor when he got his PR was a world class all around athlete since he trained strongman. Julius is a bench press specialist.
Comparing the 2 would be like saying clearly Usain Bolt is a far superior athlete to Kevin Mayer, Lebron James, Bo Jackson, and others because well compare their 100m dash times. I mean Kevin Mayer only ran a 10.5 that's super slow in comparison.
I mean do you think Julius could even compare to Hafthor in deadlift or squat or yoke walk or farmers carries or stones or any event that Hafthor specializes in that Julius doesn't? At his peak bench press was at best an accessory lift for Hafthor.
@@twirdman2 I agree man, I meant his bench only of course
@@pepijndegroot7728 Sure Julius Maddox is a ridiculously stronger bencher. I mena in all honesty in terms of comparison his bench press is like Usain Bolts 100m. They are just so ridiculously above the competition that it barely makes sense to compare them to anyone else.
Thor currently weighs 112lbs less than when he did 502kg.
"501"
Strong man💪
Is this the same channel as lifting vault??? His voice sounds the same.
Looks like he had 4 more reps in the tank.
Easy!! 🤜🏻👽🤛🏻
Don't really understand why he is keeping the elbow sleeves if he is training for comp...
To keep them warm, takes a lot longer to get bicep tendinitis / elbow pain with sleeves on.
@@arnoldv3963 the point is that they are not allowed in comps that he himself has already participated in… you don’t train differently that what you are going to do in comp when you do a prep…
If you’ve ever used them then you know they don’t give much or anything at all. Myself and my clients use them for comp pre if needed simply to reduce elbow stress and keep the movement feeling healthy. Well worn elbow sleeves and tiger balm is a god send.
Yeah, better tell a World's Strongest Man, Arnold's, Europe's Strongest Man winner, with a 2425lbs powerlifting total how to prepare for a meet properly. I'm sure he doesn't know these things at all.
@@gymweeb9229 Well when its the difference between debilitating pain or not, you wear them.
Didn’t he bench 550 in his strength prime
It looked like he could do a triple lol
That's not a PR...
Heyo
There was no spotter.
it’s just spotted as "seen" lmao
it was very easy, soon he will be able to lift 200kf
Well 200kg is easy...
Am I being an idiot or is 180kg not that impressive?
it’s very impressive but not for someone like thor
Thats because you see see people in 74kg lift it
not compared to eddie halls bench
@@mrnibbles3166 he’s done 551 at his heaviest
You are absolutely correct. Now if I did 395 pounds that would be stellar.
At his current 350 lb body weight, lifting 400 pounds is the equivalent power to weight ratio of a 175 lb guy benching 200 lbs. That's a 1.14x body weight lift. It's amazing to think that John Hack in the 200lb division benched almost 600...nearly 3x body weight. (I know it's way different for super heavyweights, so spare the additional comments. It's just an interesting stat.)
John Haack is definitely special.
He can get 200 next week with how good that went. He should aim higher.
higher doses that is
That's a pretty pathetic press for someone who won WSM before. I do realise that bench is not something that strongman develop if contrasted to powerlifters but damn, man...only 396, and he his goal is only 440? For a seasoned strength athlete who weighs around 320 lbs. to only press 1.4 his weight is pretty awful honestly. Hope he get much better numbers than that in the future.
he only recently started his strength comeback
He's been retired for about 2 years and recently came back, what are you expecting...
I know right?
Even being out of the gym for months, (Or in his case years) i wouldnt expect such a small bench
This is nowhere close to his bench pr
Stay natural and stay alive
You think he is natty because he is leaner now? xd Thats very naive.
@@vikingpower8656 extremely naïve, when you've blasted and cruised for over 15 years there's little hope for natty status ever again. TRT or more for life after that
