As arguably the most popular aftermarket modification for the 10th Gen (2018+) Honda Accord, we've created a multi-part video series in which we show you how to install the air intake, hear air intake sound clips in various driving conditions, and DYNO test each to see how their performance / how much additional horsepower and torque can be gained, in order to provide you with the information you need to determine which Honda Accord air intake mod is right for YOUR Honda Accord project car! Whether you're looking for performance / horsepower gains, or just to hear the sound of the air being sucked into the turbo / engine, this video series will provide you with the information needed to help you decide if a K&N panel air filter, PRL panel air filter, PRL Stage 1 Air Intake System, PRL HVI, AEM air intake system, Mishimoto air intake system, aFe Takeda air intake, Injen air intake, etc is the best air filter intake system modification for your 10th Gen Honda Accord (2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022) Honda Accord 2.0 or 1.5 project car.

    Great video Chad! I would add also to your comments that performance in a lab is not always what you experience in real driving conditions. I don't have an Accord but I had installed at some point a Takeda Momentum Cold Air Intake System w/Pro 5R 56-70006R on my 2019 Mazda MX-5 club with concerns on the design🤔. On Dyno and in a lab I was able to get more performance from the Takeda than the OEM box HOWEVER I had no engine performance gain on the track or on the road. On an MX-5, a Afe Takeda air box is way to close to the coolant hoses which turns out to increase by a lot the temperature of the intake system and the air going into the engine🥵. You can burn your hand on the air box if you don’t wait the entire car to cool down which is not the case with Mazda OEM. Since I could not track my car with the hood open, I just took out the Takeda and returned to the OEM. 😧

    • @TheLemonFactor
      @TheLemonFactor  2 роки тому +1

      I’m not surprised. I’m not fond of the Takeda intake’s design - it’s closed on the top where the air comes in from the bumper air scoop to the Takeda air filter box, but wide open underneath 😕

    So this new cold intake is actually less efficient than the stock system, I've seen aFe results which are different, I wish they would reach out to you to clarify any reson why their system produces less power than the factory system. I know Honda's are well engineered but I would never think a factory system would work better than an aftermarket desigend to work better. These results are so interesting, I wonder if fuel economy is affected as well. My options are very limited for my particular vehicle so opted for the aFe as it was the only one that was somewhat still a closed system and not looking for more noise from a more tradtional filter on a tube design so I hope my system at least doesn't degrade the performance but maybe helps it breath better and possibly better fuel economy, which is my intended goal. My vehicle is a 2019 Subaru Forester so limited options.
