So why is the torque increase with PRL drop in filter not being talked about? Between the 3 dyno runs with the PRL drop in had 3 to 8 ft/lbs of torque jump. That’s what gives the better throttle response that some in the comments have experienced.
Honestly, the 2.0T really opens up with a Ktuner or Hondata tune than anything else. The high flow filter is better utilized with tune. I have stage 1 PRL and Ktune. Roughly 20 HP increase with 30 ft/lbs. A $600 cost. Not bad at all

@@TheLemonFactor I did! Planning on eventually installing the Civic type R turbo with the PRL intercooler, front and downpipes. I've always been skeptical regarding aftermarket intakes, especially when it's so difficult to get an actual data-backed comparison on things like this
Hey Chad, great video but are we really surprise? The manufacturers don't disclose video records of their test. None of them! Thank you for investing time and effort for those demonstration. What manufacturer really test is in fact the air volume (CFM) their filters help to produce and it is done in a lab. Not even bolted on a vehicule :( …there is an exception with Eventuri but you/they need a Tune to maximize performance with the air volume vs fuel ratio to produce more horse power.
I am a little surprised. I was hoping for a couple additional WHP from the PRL Stage 1, especially based on their claims. Thank you for recognizing the effort involved, and cost - all done in an effort to add value and support to the Honda Accord community. 😁👍
As I suspected, similar to the stock intake on the n54 in my 335i however, once you start to turn up the boost the free breathing intakes performed slightly better and helped reduce wgdc but still hit boost targets....which was a good thing. Wonder is same holds true on the this platform. Great work!!
Any comparison to the competition for the drop in filter? Like k&n, BMC, Spectre, Green filter, AFE, AEM, HKS, DNA, kak... would love for someone to do a real showdown between all the filter
Great video, Chad. I hope that you do a similar CAI test on your MX-5. I only have an AEM panel filter installed on my 2019 MX-5 RF as I have read that CAIs can actually decrease power. Would love to see dyno results prove this one way or another, though.

Pretty sure on stock car any intake won’t make a huge difference but if you throw on a type r turbo and exhaust mods with a stock intake choking the setup I would bet money that even a K&n panel filter would see 10-15whp it’s all relative to what mods you have done.

It makes believe that because the graphics are looking better but without any hp gain. You might be getting better performance without any hp gain. It happens all the time.
It makes sense there are no gains because if it was that easy honda would have done it from the factory. And im sure the ecu would have to be tuned to utilize the extra airflow

As was mentioned in the video, each run was done with sufficient time in-between each pull in order to have the engine coolant temperature (ECT) and intake air temperatures reach a point that was consistent across all dyno pulls, thus taking any detrimental effects of heat soak out of the equation. Thanks for the watch, and comment.
