I love how every game in the series has a soundtrack with a different style. 2. Makes you feel like a super hero fighting crime. 4. Very dramatic and also has a lot of inspiration from Russian music. 5. Feels laid back, almost like you’re on an exotic tropical island. 7. Very playful and bright.
Mega Man 3's soundtrack is really underrated, I think it arguably have the best title screen theme, the best ending theme, and the Stage Select, Hard Man, and Spark Man themes are especially good. But I also have to talk about the Mega Man 8 OST with it's stellar ending theme, Amazing Stage Select theme, really cool Opening Stage theme and charming Opening theme, and that goes for both the American and Japanese versions. I love the game's music style, really 2000ish with some synth, I love it. But still my favorite Mega Man themes of all time are Metal Man and the MM2 Password themes. Interestingly, the Mega Man Legacy Collections actually used the MM3/8 soundtracks for their respective menus/title screens. Bit of variety wouldn't have hurt but hey those are definitely great soundtracks so who's complaining

The man is BAAAAACK! My favorite OST is from Megaman 3, i love the Title theme, Protoman's theme and SnakeMan's theme, but i also love most of Megaman 2 songs such as Airman, MetalMan and Flashman's theme. Of Course i love Wily Castle 1.

Wily 1 from MM1 is such a good one. It has a certain epicness, but also a bit somber, like Mega Man is pushing on in spite of fatigue to fulfill his mission.
It has always amazed how Megaman songs never fails to please people's different preferences. There are those that prioritize the melody, others de whole composition. Some prioritize the theme connection with the stage, others just how good it is to be listened by itself anywhere outside the game. For many songs these cathegories overlap. I myself enjoy the melody more than anything else, so, for example, stone man's theme sounds pretty catchy to me, but I might understand it could sound bland for people that favors the melody in a less degree than I do. No surprise Wily Stage 1 from MM7, Frost man, Nitro man, Ring man, Shade man, Blizzard man, Pump man, Fuse man, Blast man, Commando man, Spark man, Knight man, Wind man, Tundra Man, Blade man, Air man, Splash Woman, Galaxy man... and many other very melody heavy themes tend to become my favourites. (I was obsessed with Ring man's theme when I was young -- random note)
Honestly, I LOVE the music from Megaman 8. It warms my heart, makes me happy, and brings back wonderful memories. The only theme I don't really care for is the Search man theme. The only thing unfair about the whole soundtrack is that it is fully orchestrated, as opposed to all the tunes from the 8 bit games.

I agree about MM11's music. It's a great entry to the series, but I think the budget went to other aspects of the game over the music and/or they had a new team working on the music that didn't work on the previous games and/or have played a Mega Man game. It's not bad music, but not "Mega Man" music.
The compositions are 100% megaman. The instrumentation is generic rave nonsense. Edit: Look up JX MM11 16-bit. It really makes the themes stand out from each other.

Note: Wily's Fortess from Mega Man 5 was composed by Yoko Shimmomura (Street Fighter 2, Kingdom Hearts séries, etc), and this track was the only music she composed for the Mega Man series.

Man, Solar and Sheep are the two best, but Nitro is so good. Wily 2 is the best one here though, it's the most maniacel theme ever basically. I made a combo video to it. Shout outs to bass shop theme.
11 is okay in the music department. I dunno, I like that wily theme and the one with the dancing robot.

Wily's MM6 battle theme is SO EPIC and fitting that it should be his official theme if Wily gets added to Smash.

also about the wily castle first theme is pretty famous since i probaly heard it playing in a lot of videos and
interestingly, while PU has alright remixes overall, its best remix is actually Dr. Wily Stage 1-2. They extended the theme.
