Fun fact about that Mega Man costume bit in 11. His armor was always meant to change depending on his Ability since the very start. It's just that they had to settle on only having his color pallet changing due to console limitations.
I actually loved having the different helmets, it gave the weapons more personality especially since so many color schemes get reused. It also isn't all *that* different since Mega Man still changes color.
I thought that his COLOR was due to console limitations, but their choice not to go with the helmet symbol idea was due to a potential copyright infringement of Ninja Captor, which used that concept.
The jewel satellite had to be satire man it obliterates small enemies in one hit and can block projectiles unlike the other shields from previous games sure some did block projectiles but would vanish in a single hit unlike jewel satellite
@@tooterp That shouldn't be counted against the weapon. I don't like using the Metal Blade in Mega Man 2 because it feels too cheep. Does that mean it is the worst weapon in my opinion? No. Because that's insane.
@@appleando752 you shouldn’t take his opinions too seriously because he’s just having fun and his videos aren’t 100% serious. Like when he says “I hate Megaman 8” it’s not true it’s just that the words rhyme.
Important to consider about the Mega Man 5 weapons: Napalm Bomb and Water Wave are a rare instance of entirely redundant special weapons. They BOTH function as the "Ground Traveling" archetype seen elsewhere with Bubble Lead, Search Snake, Flame Wheel, Ice Wave, Plug Ball, and Wheel Cutter. However, both being in the same game makes at least one of them effectively useless outside of boss weaknesses. It just so happens that the useless one is Water Wave. Napalm Bomb does more damage Napalm Bomb uses less ammo You can have 3 Napalm Bombs onscreen at a time compared to Water Wave's 1 You can fire Napalm Bomb in the air, Water Wave can only be fired on the ground The only things Water Wave has going for it is that it can absorb enemy projectiles (I've never found any use for this) and it has three segments, so it can potentially defeat three small enemies in one burst, a property I've only found useful against the mets that split into smaller mets in Stone Man's stage. Otherwise, its just a direct downgrade to Napalm Bomb.
The Charge kick from Mega Man 5 did receive a major buff in Mega Man Maker. Now you can kick in the air, which stalls your vertical momentum, and you gain super armor, which makes it much more practical.
The comment section sums up why mega man is so cool. The disagreeing indicates that there is so much going on with weapons in these games that it comes down to playstyle and preference. For me personally I think the shields are great. I like to spam them in tricky platforming sections and that way I dont really have to worry about enemies. Even the leaf shield in mm2 was useful in a few sections I thought. Mainly when riding the automatic platforms and the ladder section where they keep dropping eggs and releasing little birds. Plus the projectile is quite powerful. Great video. It's fun to hear other people's thoughts about the weapons.
Totally agree! I love seeing all the comments even if most of them are telling me I'm dumb lololol Thanks for watching the video I'm glad you enjoyed!! :)
I was just thinking about the automatic platforms and using leaf shield while using them. If you ignore the fact you have to use it on the last boss, bubble man's weapon has always been my least used weapon in MM2.
@@LomoBolo-l8phe’s a big Mega Man fan I guess. I’ve only ever seen his comments in Mega Man video. He also finds the opinions of the Mega Man community fascinating. Which I do as well
Honestly, Jewel Shield is by far the best shield weapon in the whole series and although you get an incredible arsenal in Mega Man 9, it's an incredibly useful weapon as it kills minor enemies without disappearing so you can wear it for the better part of a level. You can farm for screws with it, you can turn it on and re-spawn enemies to refill all your weapons. The biggest problem is it's too good and should have been nerfed.
They remedied some of the problems with the Mega Man 1 weapons in Mega Man Powered Up. Hyper Bomb explodes on contact with enemies, and there are more blocks to pick up with Super Arm throughout the levels. Guts Man is a playable character in that game, and since his only weapon is Super Arm, they gave him the ability to spawn blocks. They should've just done the same for Mega Man honestly.
Yeah, Powered Up is really awesome and tragically overlooked. Each of the Robot Masters can use their own weapon slightly better than Mega Man (which makes sense, since it's their only weapon), like Bomb Man being able to throw bombs at different trajectories, and many of them also have certain mobility advantages/differences. It's also neat to have the different versions of Mega Man (with slide and/or charge), plus an option to play the game with (most of) the original physics/layouts, with the changes being simply cosmetic.
@@tooterp some of them are useful though! Jewel man’s shield still stays intact after hitting an enemy. How can you say that is the worst weapon compared to galaxy man’s black hole or butt plug man’s spark?
Jewel shield is for sure way better than the ones from MegaMan 1-6 but I just prefer every other weapon lmao Plug ball does suck but I enjoy using the black hole weapon lolol
Shield weapons like skull barrier and Plant barrier are more for utility than anything else. Especially skull barrier where it can find good use in the finale of Drill Man's stage, early Cossack 1 when jumping over the enemies that come out of the pits, and Cossack three if you are too far to the right during the auto scroller. By the time you get plant Barrier you just beat the best stage for using it... Yeah.
@@tooterp To be fair, at least Plant Man's shield can actually kill shielded enemies (unlike Skull Barrier). Also, people do be sleeping on Plant Man. Sure, his battle is very easy, but he's based off of a parasitic flower found in Asia: the Sapria himalayana. Tell me that design ISN'T cool with a straight face. Plus, Plant Man's stage is pretty cool too. My point is that people sleep on Plant Man too often.
Tornado Hold? I mean, you're entitled not to like it, but damn, I remember it being one the most useful not just in the game, but in the entire series. It can be used as a makeshift Rush Coil, and is multi-hit (albiet, that 2nd one requires some aiming. It can also kill those annoying floor things in Astro Man's stage, and makes navigating the maze part a LOT easier, due to the aforementioned jump boosting.
Agreed, though the uploader admits to being naive in the comments and for people to correct him. Tornado Hold is like one of the coolest weapons in the series. Tengu Man is also my favorite Robot Master. Also, Clown Man getting tortured is satisfying.
>"Jewel Satellite is bad." >Shows footage of JS acting like a traditional shield weapon minus having no hit limit, allowing you to just plow through everything.
It's just really lame compared to every other weapon, notice how optimal Jewel satellite gameplay is me sitting there standing still or just walking, it's not horrible but it's not fun and the other weapons seem better imo (except plug ball lol)
@@tooterp Then you probably should've gone with Plug Ball and not what is considered, according to the wiki, the BEST Shield weapon in MM Classic if not the whole series due to not having negligible durability due to only dissipating against enemies it doesn't oneshot, a negligible on-activation energy cost that can be easily made back off the kills it gets, and being able to be maintained for a whole screen due to the above mentioned traits. And it deflects projectiles, so you're protected from the vast majority of things that can hurt you, all while the shield refuses to die. It's basically an invincibility power-up with the timer invincibility power-ups typically have. It's easily better than the two weapons you're directly comparing it to, Junk Shield, which slowly breaks apart with each it and isn't projectile immune, and Plug Ball, whose awkwardly limited range speaks for itself.
Yea but it's boring and if you're already good at MegaMan there's no point lolol, also junk shield is way better than Jewel satellite Tbh tho part of the reason I chose it was to keep the running joke with shield weapons which is why I brought up plug ball but I still think it's the second worst weapon in 9 only second to plug ball
It was fun to hear your commentary on the worst weapons; though, I strangely found some of your "worst weapons" among the best. I might be in the minority, but I find Jewel Satellite really useful. You can walk through a lot of levels with the thing on (Concrete Man and Galaxy Man's opening segments come to mind). I use Danger Wrap way more than springs, slash, or wheel too. Leaf Shield is also not terrible if you use it offensively and not as a shield. Honestly probably does a lot more than Atomic Fire. Top Spin is also useful in some segments.
Before the list even starts, time to give my opinions! 1: Hyper Bomb, no question. Takes too long to blow up. 2: Easily Leaf Shield, not being able to move tears it. 3: Hello Spark Shock 4: Skull Barrier is too weak. 5: Water Wave. 6: Honestly I use all the weapons in 6, but if I *had* to pick one... I'd probably say Plant Barrier. 7: Freeze Cracker 8: Once again, I use all the weapons. I guess I'd say Flame Sword just because it's too weak for its short reach. &B: I don't care for Ice Wall. 9: HELLO CONCRETE SHOT 10: Thunder Wool, no question 11: Another one I use all the weapons for. If I had to pick, I guess I'd pick Chain Blast. Now for reactions! 1: Same thought process here. 2: Air Man isn't difficult, the heck? 3: Top Spin one shots almost every enemy it can damage, it's perfectly fine. Yeah there's the bug where it drains the energy, but that got fixed in Wily Wars. Spark Shock is even *worse* because you can't do damage to enemies and you can't *pause* while an enemy is frozen. The bug isn't random, either, it's if you take damage and you're in the hurtbox of the enemy while in your stun state. 4: Rain Flush is a screen clearing weapon, basing its strength on the Robot Master makes no sense, you aren't gonna 1 shot a RM in a post MM2 game. 5: It sounds like you just *hate* Screen Clear weapons, which confuses me as they're the strongest weapons you have. Also you're just objectively wrong on all of the weapons weaknesses. Napalm Bomb is weak, sure, but the bouncing works because a lot of the grounded enemies move around, and they can be spammed. Star Crash *deletes* projectiles and can be thrown, you're just *bad* at using Gyro Attack and Power Stone, and Charge Kick makes you completely invulnerable during the slide. 6: Agreed tbh 7: The Game Boy games started the 2 sets of 4. Also, Danger Wrap? Really? You realize that you can change its trajectory by moving, not moving, or holding up, right? Or that you can just lay down the mine by holding down while firing, right? 8: Tornado Hold shreds through enemies, and tbh I use it a *lot.* It's nowhere near as bad as Flame Sword &B: Honestly fair, I just don't like how slow Ice Wall is half the time. 9: Jewel Satellite doesn't despawn on contact with enemies, reflects projectiles, and can be thrown, it is *Not* the worst weapon in 9. 10: Yyyyyep. 11: I can't really agree on this one, if only because Power Gear Acid Barrier deletes enemies, and the normal variant absorbs projectiles.
so wouldn't top spin's problem just be the fact that you have to take damage to use it, since you have to go inside the enemy to use it, and it doesn't make you invincible (to my knowledge)
@@pyraswolf4263 It doesn't make you invincible, no, but standard enemies that take damage from it don't stay around long enough to damage you after the fact, so the only thing that makes you take damage while trying to use it is Shadow Man, because unlike everything else that can be damaged by Top Spin, he has invulnerability frames.
I have to agree for MM8- probably because I played it so much as a kid. Tornado Hold is kinda like Thunder Wool's competent older brother- it's faster, stronger, and even has more utility. Flame Sword doesn't have enough oomph to justify getting in enemies faces throughout a stage.
In Megaman Maker, Skull Barrier is made useful by making you immune to spikes while the shield is up, which is pretty creative. Also it then makes all enemies and projectiles into one hit kills while you're standing on spikes, since losing the shield causes the spikes to affect you once again...
Tornado Hold is probably one of my favorites from MM8 tbh. I like weapons that have extra utility as a movement option, Tornado Hold acts as a full-on replacement for Rush Coil in a lot areas, really fun to just put down and use, gotta hate the disrespect you give to it.
Yea. I LOVE using it on Clown Man. Whenever he gets hit with it, he flies up, gets all twisted (like a drawer of extension cords), says, "What're you doing!?" Lands. "OW!"
Considering Jewel Satellite is a shield styled weapon that can actually be useful, I can't consider that to be MM9's worst weapon. I would go with Plug Ball being the worst instead.
Of the (many) problems with Top Spin, one of them is that the weapon doesn't use a set amount of energy with each attack, but rather drains depending on how long you're in contact with an enemy. As such, when fighting someone like Shadow Man, if you use it and get hit at the same time (another major issue), the knockback+mercy invincibility often causes a HUGE chunk of its energy to be consumed in one go, even though you didn't actually damage Shadow Man all that much...
I disagree with the majority of the choices. But I like you actually put some time in deciding. Also up until this point, I always liked Jewel Satellite but I'll never look at it same way again. Napalm Man's weapon is actually pretty good despite looking very stupid. Is that Tornado Hold thing a joke? Seriously Tornado Hold is strong. What would be your least favourite from MMV on the GB?
Yea Napalms man weapon honestly isn't too bad and neither is tornado hold but I just never use tornado hold since it's so chunky lolol Also I've never played the Gameboy games sadly but I want to try them out and would love to for a video in the future if people would be interested in watching that :)
Interesting, Woodman weapon is one the most useful ones to farm extra lives in MegaMan 2, so in my opinion this weapon is far from being the worst of the game.
I'm here to defend Top Spin. While not a great weapon, it can still be useful. The standard enemies that it's weak to all die to one hit with it, and it easily takes out most of the fortress bosses, including Gamma's second phase. It's also useful against Shadow Man since he's one of the toughest bosses in the entire game.
I feel like weapons taking out the enemies it’s weak to in a single shot shouldn’t be really considered a advantage for the weapon especially when the amount of enemies that are actually weak to the weapon is limited
@@tsunyosht1251 It is when it’s the final boss and the mega buster doesn’t hurt said boss. In MM2, you HAVE to use the Bubble Lead. In 3, it’s Search Snake, Top Spin….??? (Hard knuckle and shadow blade work on its first form, but not the second). Since it’s perilous to get up to where you can hit the boss (there is a one-hit kill against you), Top Spin’s ability to oneshot Gamma greatly reduces the stress of the fight.
Mega Man 1 I agree Hyper Bomb is bad Mega Man 2 i think the title would go to Atomic fire, it’s basically a beta charge shot and it’s pretty bad, the low charge shots are super weak, the medium shots are glitchy and the full charge takes up a lot of weapon energy. There are more uses for leaf shield than atomic fire, for example in the ladder section on crash man’s stage you can stand still on the ladder and wait for the baby birds to run into it and die. Mega Man 3 is definitely spark shot, not only worst in its game but also possibly worst in the series. There are little to no use cases for this weapon since the main flaw with it is that you cant switch weapons while your enemy is stunned. Gemini laser although it does lag the game it also slightly helps you in that regard by giving you more time to react to surroundings. Mega Man 4 definitely isnt Skull Barrier, it can block enemies plus it has a ton of weapon energy. Dust crusher doesnt really have all that much use cases. Mega Man 5 all the weapons get overshadowed by the charge shot but the worst has to be power stone, although charge kick can get you hit you also have more chance to hit charge kick than power stone, also charge kick has one of the best concepts of a weapon, but lacks in execution, but power stone basically doesnt have execution. Mega Man 6 i agree it’s plant barrier Mega Man 7 id give to scorch wheel, i find it hard to hit anything with it and when i do it does barely anything. Burst bubble has more applications in my opinion. Mega Man 8 i really hope is a joke, it is definitely water balloon. Its mega buster but limited, there’s no competition here. Tornado hold doesnt even come close. Mega Man and Bass i think itd still be Dynamo mans weapon, it’s just a generic screen clear and while it does have applications in speed running it doesnt have many casual applications outside of it. Mega Man has to be another joke. Jewel satellite is probably one of if not the best shield weapon in the series. You literally show how effective it is in the video yet you still say it’s the worst. Plug ball isn’t exactly bad but it’s the worst by far. Mega Man 10 is thunder wool i completely forgot that existed Mega Man 11 i didnt see at any point you bring up the power gear variants, in which case acid barrier is far from the worst. Id give the title to tundra storm, extremely low horizontal range by default and then with power gear it’s a screen clear but its also an energy clear, it uses a lot of weapon energy.
"Mega Man 4 definitely isn't Skull Barrier, it can block enemies plus it has a ton of weapon energy." It's useless at protecting you from spikes and can't even kill enemies with SHIELDS. How can you say it's not the worst?! "Mega Man 6 i agree it’s plant barrier" Average Plant Man hater thinking they're funny: 🤓
Top Spin is actually very good. All enemies who can be hit by it get one shot, also it practically instakills the final boss. Oh and if you switch to after firing a buster shot from any of the Rush items, the buster shot will take on the damage values of Top Spin, which makes it one of the most effective weapons in the game
1. I get it being not totally horrible but it isn’t good by any means. It’s extremely awkward to use when on little enemies and ineffective. You have no reason to use this over another weapon except the leap frog enemies. 2. That glitch applies to every weapon and not just top spin.
12:20 i actually like that, because it allows to design later levels with first four bosses weapons in mind, which makes levels a lot more inventive and weapons a lot more useful.
It's a matter of knowing what is and isn't immune, and how to finagle boss hitboxes. Learn those and you can completely rock with Top Spin. qzecwx had some old videos showing Top Spin in action, and RoahmMythril showed you can beat Wily 1 No Damage, _Top Spin_ Only. Skill gate weapon.
@@RaceBandit I use them at the hanging gorillas, the small jumping enemies, any crowding enemies. Super handy in at least one area of a bunch of levels
The reason people hate it is because they're idiot mouth-breathers who don't experiment with weapons in levels. They only use weapons on bosses for some reason. As a boss killer, yes, it sucks. For clearing the levels it is fantastic, and probably the best weapon in the game. Like okay if you know in your heart of hearts that it's not going to get you anywhere with Shadow Man, why not use it in his stage, which is full of the little hopping dudes it was basically made to hard counter?
The worst weapon to each megaman game for my Megaman:super arm Megaman 2:flash stopper Megaman 3:top spin Megaman 4:skull barrier Megaman 5:power stone (the worst to saga) Megaman 6:plant barrier Megaman 7:scorh wheel Megaman 8:water balloon Megaman and bass:magic card Megaman 9:plug ball Megaman 10:thunder bolt Megaman 11:chain blast
I've always thought that considering bosses when rating weapons is pretty pointless given that EVERY weapon is going to have boss utility, to some degree. Also, I would call Spark Shock the worst weapon in the series. You can't pause the game and shoot the enemies while they're stunned, so you just have to run past them (which you can barely do in MM3's stages).
Spark Shock is also a rare case of a weapon that's completely outclassed even as a boss weakness. It's strong against Magnet Man... who is equally weak to Shadow Blade (as in, full 8 points of damage weak), which is much easier to hit Magnet Man with since you can shoot it upwards.
Having just finished MM5 trying to use the weapons, I've gotta say that some of them do have good utility (Gyro in particular since you can direct it up or down, Stone is useful if enemies cluster you, and you're invulnerable during Charge so you can bypass static enemies like cannons), but Napalm is actually useless.
I will agree on questioning why tornado hold is a weapon but is really calling it the worst it can make playing the game easier just try to find your way around Astro man stage without tornado hold
@@tooterp I kinda got the stats wrong. I remember watching you in summer break* Oh yeah air man is a evil air purifier change my mind. Your humor is great! Your vids are very entertaining
MM1 is definitely Hyper Bomb. No real contest there. MM2's worst IMO is Atomic Fire. It's literally just an over-balanced charge buster. A lot of the other weapons in this game are really mid or niche, but I still end up using all of them at least a few times in a playthrough. I can't tell you the last time I pulled this thing out. MM3 Barring Spark Shot, I'd say it's Needle Cannon. Gemini Laser and Top Spin are super broken, but they're stupid fun to play with and sometimes even unironically good if you play games that have them where the bugs are fixed. Needle Cannon is like the Mega Buster for people with carpal tunnel. You can shoot just by holding the button, and there's a slight spread that can help you a little sometimes, but that's the only difference. MM4 probably has the most balanced arsenal out of all the games besides 7 or 9. Skull Barrier isn't exceptional, especially when it comes to shields, but it can still be useful. Dust Crusher isn't bad, but it just kind of feels like it was tacked on because they needed an 8th weapon. It doesn't really fill a role the other weapons can't. I really wish this thing split when it hit walls instead of enemies. MM5 is Water Wave. Power Stone is really bad too, but mostly because it doesn't do nearly as much damage as it should. Charge Kick is a bad weapon for killing enemies, but it's amazing as a tool to just let you skip through entire sections. Water Wave can be useful, but it's just so finnicky. It won't work in the air, and it won't work if you're too close to a ledge. In the time it takes me to properly position myself to even fire the weapon, I could've swapped to something else and killed the enemy already. MM6 Is honestly a toss-up between Blizzard Attack and Yamato Spear. Yamato Spear can at least hit things consistently, but it's just a slightly cooler Needle Cannon (which by extension is a slightly cooler Mega Buster). MMV's is Electric Shock, which is funny because I really like melee weapons. It just stops you dead in your tracks for a few seconds and it's super annoying. MM7 for me is Scorch Wheel. I really want to like this thing, but I just can't. I like how it combines a shield with a Bubble-Lead-esque weapon, but the execution is eeugh. It just ends up being bad at both jobs. MM8 is by far Water Balloon. Tornado hold is a bit awkward to aim, but is really good for mobility, and shreds anything caught in it. You can also kind of use it like a shield to block off enemies from an entire section of the screen. WB's arc is completely useless. It's wide enough that you can't hit over things like you'd expect to be able to, but still tight enough to actively be a hinderance. & Bass has a lot of really cool and unique weapons so calling any of them bad is really tough IMO. I'd say Remote Mine is the worst for me, but that's probably just because I suck at directing it, so it just ends up not being worth using a lot of the time. MM9's weapons are all really close. There's no mediocre weapons in the game, let alone bad ones. Jewel Satellite is personally my favorite shield. Even Plug Ball comes in handy a surprising number of times. I'd say the weak link is Magma Bazooka. It's in the exact same boat as Dust Crusher in 4; It's really good if you get it early on, but once I get all the weapons, I'm just drawn more to the others than it. If this thing was in any other game it would be insane. MM10's is Thunder Wool, yeah. It's a real let-down too since it'd be so easy to make it good. I've never played 11 so I can't really comment on it.
I actually love all mega man weapons pretty equally. But if I were to make any buffs to each of them that I felt needed it... Super Arm: Being able to pick up some enemy types when no bricks are around. Maybe enemies like Mets or Joes. Hyper Bomb: the buffs from Powered up are perfect: adjustable angles and immediate detonation when an enemy touches the bomb. Time Stopper: Just being able to unfreeze time whenever necessary. Leaf Shield: being able to hold onto the shield and throwing it whenever you want to. Top Spin: the Mega man maker buff that allows you to bounce on enemies while jumping on them. Gemini Laser: Let it peirce through armor and have Needle and Hard swap weaknesses, the uneven chain angers me. Spark Shock: the Mega man maker buff where stunned enemies also take damage while stunned. Skull barrier: can survive up to four projectile/small enemy hits, one for each skull. And the shield does massive damage if broken directly by a bigger enemy or boss. Charge kick: the Mega man maker buff allowing it to be used in midair and giving it some brief invincibility frames. Power stone: The spin starts of slow but speeds up as the rocks spread out, increasing the chances of hitting something. Napalm bomb: the Game boy buff where the lob is stronger and the blast radius is bigger upon contact with a foe. Plant barrier: the ability to throw it. The petals would also shoot out in an X or + formation when hit by a foe or projectile/upon contact with a foe after it's shot, so it's not just a skull barrier clone. Centaur Flash: The buff from Mega man maker where time is stopped briefly and Mega man is invincible for a brief period. Tornado hold: blows enemies upwards and deals heavy damage when they fall back down. Water Balloon: Forgive the pun... but Splash damage. Wave burner: Longer range. Jewel satellite: Throw the diamonds individually and in four different directions. Thunder wool: Mega man maker buff that increases the damage radius on the ground where the lighting bolt strikes, basically it works the way it does for sheep man. Acid Barrier: enemies that pop the barrier take acid damage and the acid shot give a poison-like effect to enemies
Fair enough ^^ Tbf, my only issue with it is that I feel it drains too fast in some scenarios. If the weapon doesn't survive the entire boss fight with a full energy bar (with the exception of Time stopper) then there's a small problem That's actually something I don't like about Tornado hold compared to some screen nukes too. Why can't it take Four weapon energy per shot like all other screen nukes?
I small note on charge kick. The fan game "MegaMan maker" actually buffed it granting MegaMan I frames as well as being able to be used in the air, which also doubles as a second jump. I'll take that version over the version we got in 5 any day
Here's a list of my favourite ones. 1. Fire Storm (Because it's balanced. It also has a secondary use.) 2. Quick Boomerang (I am gonna say it. I don't like Metal Blade. It's so boring to use. Quick Boomerang adds few things to look out.) 3. Shadow Blade (Now this is Metal Blade done right!) 4. Ring Boomerang (Again! I find Pharaoh Shot to be broken. It was close call between this and drill bomb but at least Ring Boomerang doesn't make any annoying sound.) 5. Napalm Bomb (You know, I prefer this over Buster. It's good for Weapon Only run.) 6. Knight Crush (I was surprised you dislike Knight Crush. I mean it's strong and balanced.) V. Spark Chaser (Kinda awkward to use but I like it.) 7. Danger Wrap (Ironic! Also, as established by now, I like weapons that actually need some skills to use rather than an easy way out like Junk Shield and this weapon is no different. Not gonna lie, Power Stone requires *too* much skills.) 8. Tornado Hold (Ironic yet again! But It's strong and it's balanced by it's lack of horizontal range.) MM&B. Remote Mine (Because why not?) 9. Concrete Shot (I 100% agree with NE that this is *the* best weapon in any Mega Man classic game! There's no weapon better than this.... so far.) 10. Wheel Cutter (A lot of people say Triple Blade, but again, that's a winning move. Again this is one of those weapons that require some skills in contrast to say Solar Blaze, Triple Blade, Rebound Striker or Water Shield but not too much like Chill Spike, Commando Bomb or especially Thunder Wool. But, Sheep Man is actually a very adorable robot master.) 11. Scramble Thunder (What can I say? Almost every weapon in the game breaks the game. I think it has to be Scramble Thunder because it breaks the game the least.)
ALRIGHT I STRONGELY DISAGREE ON QUICK BOOMERANG RING BOOMERANG KNIGHT CRUSH DANGER WRAP AND NALPAM BOMB metal blade is amazing and fun to use and so satisfying to tear everything to bolts and screws with it danger wrap is just a medium weapon its not really nuttin special like sure you can drop mines on the ground but they only last for like 6 seconds if it was longer then maybe i would understand why this is your favorite knight crush is weird to use to be honest my favorite from 6 is probably centaur flash i love screen clear weapons ring boomerang its a great weapon dont get me wrong but compared to weapons such as rain flush flash stopper pharoh shot and dive missle this weapon isnt my favorite from 4 but its great napalm bomb this weapon is slow doesnt do the most damage for a bomb weapon and its hard to use against stone man so yeah i also made a tier list video on my channel ranking mega man weapons check it out if you wanna see how i feel about every weapon in the series except for 11 V and powered up
@@mohdadeeb1829 yes its just my opinion just like its your opinion check my channel though if you wanna see me how i rank almost every weapon in the series besides mega man 11 V and powered up
I cannot stand for the slander of top spin when Spark Shot literally does 0 damage to practically every enemy in the game?!? :( Also, the slander of Hell Wheel, a weapon that was designed to be stupidly OP.
I will point out that Leaf Shield is actually really good for Crash Man's stage, being useful for the Moving Platforms and dealing with the Pipis on the ladder climb. It's also good for that one Met at the top of the ladder climb. I'd probably give the award of worst weapon in Mega Man 2 to the Air Shooter due to the incredibly specific and odd arc the air gets fired in if you are anywhere other than directly in front of whatever you're shooting.
The Air Shooter is really good against the Mech Walkers though. Even though the Metal Blades are OP, Capcom did a pretty good job making all the weapons useful, so I honestly couldn’t tell you which one’s the worst.
@@Dog-999i I'm legit surprised that Crash Bombs don't get more hate than they do. Aside from the mandatory boss fight, there is no situation in which they're better than your Mega Buster or other weapons. If you hit with the projectile it barely does any damage. Hitting with the explosion is very difficult. And if you miss with both, you're boned.
Jewel satellite the worst MM9 weapon? I remember it being pretty good. It lasts forever, shreds through weaker enemies, deflects most projectiles. It’s an insane shield weapon. Also sheep man is actually a reference to Blade Runner since the first book was called “Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?”
It's really not that bad as most of the comments on this video pointed out lol, I just liked the running theme of making fun of shield weapons + Mega Man 9s weapons are all really good
@@tooterp I’d more argue for Magma Bazooka personally.I found myself using it the least in my playthrough. Just not as many situations where it’s uniquely useful and does things other weapons in the game couldn’t do.
How to fix each of these: Hyper Bombs - detonate when the fire button is pressed, can launch in a higher arc Leaf Shield - can use while moving, only launches when fire is pressed again Top Spin - can use on the ground, reflects enemy shots, invincible while using in air Skull Barrier - doesn't stop after one hit (how many hits would depend on what hits it), can fire arm cannon while using it Charge Kick - invincible while using (and a few frames after) Plant Barrier - see Skull Barrier Danger Wrap - this one's fine, not great, but not broken enough to need fixing either Tornado Hold - add a horizontal mode that works like Storm Tornado from Mega Man X Wave Burner - longer range Jewel Satellite (ANOTHER fricking shield weapon? REALLY?) - make it launchable in any direction instead of just forward Thunder Wool - the cloud tracks enemies on the ground and targets them with the lightning Acid Barrier - make the acid shots able to hit small enemies on the ground in front of Mega Man
Hyper Bomb:You buffing it the wrong way there already Thunder Beam for enemy above so what it need is more distance. Leaf shield:You basically turn it into a generic shield, this is my way you can indeed run with it but you cant manually shoot it until your leaf shield take enough damage. Top man:Let also make it a speedrun weapon when you slide and activate it you will slide longer plus way more damage to offset not having invincibility. Skull Barrier:Hmmm let make it fit the theme of the death,Whenever the shield get damaged by any source all enemy on screen will take damage. Plant Barrier:Dont copy paste Skull Barrier, maybe whenever the shield is destroy you regain a small ammount of health this will make player have to either choose massive damage or healing. Danger Wrap:Slight speed increase is enough. Tornado Hold:Now this is a big one,Uncharge one work like in Megaman and Bass and charged one work like in the original but way more damage. Wave burner:Nah way more damage is the way to design risk v.s reward. Jewel Satalite:Jewel are known to be very hard to break so have it indestrucable but it drain energy with every blow it take. Thunder Woll:Beside that make it so whenever the attack end it shoot out 2 energy ball like in Sheep Man boss fight. Acid Barrier:Make it ignore shield and can poison enemy which can even work on bosses.
You could take the MM8BDM route: Hyper Bomb - huge radius and shorter fuse Leaf Shield - Counterattacks with projectiles if hit Top Spin - huge damage, so you instakill enemies and don't need invul. Also fix the ammo bug. Skull Barrier - No damage, invulnerability and drains on time. Also immune to spikes Charge Kick - it's just fast. Really fast. And can be used in the air. Plant Barrier - Heals slowly, but drains ammo over time. Doesn''t dispell with one hit either. Bubble Wrap - the same pretty much Tornado Hold - Also same. It doesn't need to be much better, it's mostly for platforming. Wave Burner - Range Jewel Satelllite - It's already super strong wtf Thunder Wool - Sparks the ground around where the bolt hits, so hits a lot on the screen at once. You could also take the MM Maker approach
My picks for the worst weapons are MM1-Super arm MM2-Leaf Shield MM3-Top spin MM4 Skull barrier MM5-Power stone MM6-Plant Barrier MM7-Danger wrap MM8-Water balloon MM9-Plug Ball MM10-Thunder Wool MM11-Acid Barrier
I really like how they improve these weapons in Megaman Maker though, my favorites being Top Spin which lets you bouce off enemies like Mario and Dive Kick which lets you do a kick mid-air and a double jump if you time it.
1 - Would agree but the fact that you can only use Guts Arm when the game lets you really kills it. 2 - Leaf Shield has some applications in places like those hallways you mentioned and moving platforms in Crash Man/Wily 4. Furthermore I disagree with a weapon being a weakness as part of what makes a weapon useful because that's not the weapon as a weapon, that's the weapon as a key. Bubble Lead does absolutely nothing of use outside beat bosses and spot a few fake platforms the first time around, the Mega buster is straight up better 3 - It's not random, it's a jank hitbox, and the weapon energy amounts to "don't hold down the button while bosses are invulnerable". I wouldn't omit Spark Shot because it's obviously Spark Shot every one knows Spark Shot is the single worst weapon in all of Mega Man given it can't even kill anything that isn't weak to it. Top Spin also OHKOs a few bosses due to them lacking invuln frames and while I wouldn't count that as a feature since that's just a glitchy key it's worth noting. It's also solid against enemies even if you'd rather shoot most of them. 4 - I mean it works as a shield. I'd say Dive Missile since it hardly hits and you'd rather just shoot (or use the shield to pass by) but sure. 5 - All the weapons are the worst weapon lmao so yours is fair I would have went with Stone Man's trash. 6 - tbh not too familiar with all the weapons there but shield sure 7 - yeah 8 - I would have chosen Clown Man's but that really just amounts to preference. & Bass - Yeah it's that 9 - Jewel Shield is easily the most busted Shield in Mega Man behind Junk's. If it one-shots an enemy it doesn't deplete, negating any hazards in certain platforming segments. All the weapons in 9 are great but if I had to choose one I'd probably choose the Magma Bazooka since it's just a spreading shot that can charge and that's it. The Bees at least home super well and grab items. 10 - Yeah it's Thunder Wool. 11 - Acid yeah
I feel like every single human being that has played Megaman 3, hates Top man's power. I even think that if Megaman could speak when you're playing with him, he would say "No!" if you somehow get close to that weapon, and I would totally stay all my life seeing Toad man dancing than being forced to use Top man's ability for one minute. And now that I think about it, I'm happy that in "Megaman Powered up" they fixed Guts man weapon "
Top Spin work fine when you use it against normal enemies that it works on as it always instakills. Unfortunately it's bugged due to a rushed development cycle and drains energy every frame you're in an enemy it didn't insta kill.
I was going to make a sarcastic comment saying "Thank you for remembering RockMan & Forte!" but then you actually DID show it... and it brought a smile to my face, thank you
@@tooterp I'll never understand why some people consider it to be like the bastard child of MM8 and even less why it was compared to MMX6, my first experience was with the GBA version... but I think it was pretty good nonetheless!.. maybe except for some sections in level design that might feel unfair, but it's nothing one can't learn with trial and error, my 6y/o brother is the testament of this (Still can't believe he completed the intro and the balloon section of Tengu Man on his own, sadly everything after proved to be too difficult for him) Anyways, I'll be subscribing if you don't mind... if not to remember myself about watching your other videos, I'll do it for future content, cause I really wanna see more of this.
This was so cool that you made this for us megaman nerds. I think MM2 has the most useful weapons even though some of the levels force you to use them. I actually have to use weapons sparingly. I actually like the leaf shield. You might be better than me at that game but I use it for Crash Mans level to avoid the birds and a couple other parts. I don't think I use any weapons in MM5 throughout the whole game outside of Gyro Mans weapon. They were really bad. Great video!
This might have been said somewhere below in the comments, but, what do you think a *Shield* weapon is for? They're not meant for offensive, (Leaf Shield and Junk Shield being clear exceptions.) they're meant for defense! You see an enemy about to shoot you, you stop the bonk and bonk them back youself! It's not hard to understand, right?
I find it weird that 5 is one of my favorite Mega Man games despite having a terrible weapon selection. It's certainly the easiest to do a Buster Only run, and in many ways is better than using their weaknesses.
if you use power gear with acid barrier you get a sheild that can damage enemies and you can turn off power gear and still have a stronger better sheild
I think the only thing you can do now is find the best, worst, stupidest and ugliest Mega Man utility item. Prepare to hear a lot of shade (Man) about Rush.
For 17:30 also good sir Skull Barrier DOES protect you from spikes, and yeah thats why it goes in one shot. And also heres my list of "Not So Good weapons..." I wouldn't call all of them the worse... :T MM1 - Guts Arm - You can't do shyt at all without a Guts Block in the vicinity. And like at least you can always attack with Hyper Bomb. I also prefer Guts Arm instead of Super Arm also but thats a personal comment. MM2 - Flash Stopper - Its pretty a cool weapon but when you freeze time you also freeze the menu so you can't switch out or cancel the weapon. Which could possibly corner you with enemies, traps, that you can't get out of without either dying after the FS Effect or just dying by running into said enemies and traps. MM3 - Top Spin - I agree with this at least... Cuz somehow when you use the Top Spin during your I. Frames you drain the whole damn thing in nanoseconds. MM4 - N/A - Personally I think all weapons are pretty gud Idk... MM5 - Power Stone - It takes a while for the Power Stones to disappear and you can only stop it with menu pause if you wanna try again in an instant. Better off switching to another weapon rlly. MM6 - Flame Burst - Apparently you launched your younger brother's lego tower instead of a Pillar of fire. MM7 - Slash Claw - Its pretty short ranged really. MM8 - Water Balloon - If the Lemons were replaced with Blue Berries and they actually have physics. NicoEvaluates said the same thing about Flash Bomb being the "strongest" but I somehow water balloon and flash bombs aren't the best of the best... MM&B - Tengu Blade - Its honestly hard to aim with this weapon really that feels like the only problem... MM9 - Hornet Chaser - I remember trying Hornet Chaser before and I'm starting to feel unsure about its strengths since it just Homes in on Enemies and Pick Ups and is only good against Splash Woman. MM10 - Thunder Wool - It doesn't seem to hit much things really unless those enemies or deletable projectiles travel horizontally... Its only a beam of lightning that bolts down to the ground. It doesn't spread or anything, the Wool/Cloud itself doesn't give off an Electrical Burst once it goes. MM11 - N/A - Honestly all of them are very gud also wtf...
@@tooterp It gets a bad rep but it's actually fun. I think a lot of hate tends to stem from the GBA port, which had a bit of screen crunch (but I think it makes all the difference). If one can get hold of a SNES copy, it's significantly better, I find.
You forgot to mention the fact that Mega Man 11's "Power Gear" Mode not only give you the ability to fire 3 normal shots(When you're using the Mega Buster) & Firing 2 Charge Shots by holding the "Main Weapon" Key & Releasing said Key when the "Double Charge Shot" is charged up(As well as a "MASSIVE" Charge Shot "AFTER" holding on to your "Power Gear" Amped Charge Shot "PAST" the point where you'll fire 2 Charge Shots "AFTER" you decide to release the "Main Weapon" Key to let said Charge Shots rip but "AFTER" holding on to your "Power-Geared Charge Shot" but you'll find that the "Power Gear Enhanced Mega Buster" can charge up to a "THIRD" Level leading to the point that Releasing the "Main Weapon" Key afterwards "WILL" Result in the aforementioned "MASSIVE" Charge Shot that'll flat out "ANNIHILATE" & i mean that in a BIG way "ANY" Small, Medium, Large, & Yes "EVEN" Mini-Boss Type Enemies or "IF" you're lucky to hold on to an "Power Gear Enhanced Charge Shot" Especially when Fighting a Mini-Boss, Robot Master, or heck, an Gear Fortress Boss in that regard, or charge up an "Power Gear Enhanced Charge Shot" right "BEFORE" Battling the stage boss in that manner, "EVEN" BOSS TYPE ENEMIES TOO!!!!!(I am referring to MM11's Robot Masters & The Bosses in Wily's Gear Fortress)) But you can "ALSO" Use the Weapons you get from the game's Robot Masters "WITH" The "Power Gear" as well!!!!!
When it comes to episode 5, the reason why all the robot master weapons are booty cheeks is because the Mega Buster trumps all of them. It's frickin OP
Mega Man 6 - Flame Man’s weapon is really useful in hitting enemies underneath you, which happens often. Flame Man and Tomahawk Man cover most enemies onscreen that you couldn’t otherwise reach.
The one weapon that I initially hated but ultimately made my jaw drop was HORNET CHASER 🐝. It kills enemies and brings back the ammo or energy. You’ve got to love it!!!
I'd still say Time Stopper is the worst weapon in MM2, as it is the only weapon that can't kill the robot master that is officially weak to it. On max weapon energy Time Stopper only takes out 2/3 of Quick Man's HP. Once you're out of F's to give, you're stuck trying to nail him with Plasma shots or Crash Bomber (secondary weakness). In defense of Charge Kick, the attack still counts as a slide, so you can deal damage then turn mid-slide before contact damage occurs. I'd consider Power Stone far worse because trying to hit ANYTHING with Power Stone without being directly next to its hit box is a fool's errand. It is considerably easier to kill Charge Man (who is meant to be weak to Power Stone) buster only than use Power Stone.
I actually really like Top Spin and Shadow Blade. The former is an optimal weapon for those enemies who rain down on you (and those eyes who walk on 2 legs).
Calling Jewel Satelite the worst weapon in Mega Man 9 has to be a joke right? Seriously you can obliterate most enemies by simply walking into them and it won't go away.
Really, I think Jewel Satellite is awesome, because you can walk through most weak enemies like their puffs of smoke. Also, going to be honest, I like Mega Man 8, mainly because I have a nostalgic attachment to it.
Yea most people seem to like Jewel satellite but I don't mind just shooting enemies with my buster lolol Also yea I actually like MegaMan 8 a lot tbh I just also like making fun of it lololol
@@TsukiStuffs It has all of like, 12 uses, barely lands in front of your face, and the game refuses to tell you about its other properties of freezing the magma beams or blocking lasers. If this game had Energy Saver, I could see it being decent, but it's just not good
Now that I think about it, Flash stopper from 4 only stopping time in flashes makes sense... because even though it stops time functionally in game, you're technically not stopping time. It's a blinding flash of light that stuns enemies because it disorients their optics/camera based eyes. If I were to buff this weapon, I'd have it basically instakill flying enemies, as they're stunned and as such they'll fall from where they were flying
The screen wipe weapons work on basically all enemies. The "wipe" visual effect only happens once they reach zero HP, and stronger enemies have more HP, so you have to use the attack twice to kill them and have them die.
There's actually a glitch in MM3 that makes top spin somewhat practical (but it's still probably the worst one). If you shoot pellets while in rush mode, then switch to another weapon, the on-screen pellets will take on the attributes of the weapon you swapped to (ex: if you shot pellets then switched to hard knuckle the pellets would do hard knuckle damage). This allows you to basically OHKO some bosses that are weak to top spin, namely holorock and gamma.
@12:22 I just want to make a correction that Mega Man 7 isn't the first game to have the four four split. Most if not all of the Mega Man Game Boy games use this concept. Three, four, five definitely use it but it could be kind of considered that one and two do as well. So it's at least the 4th game to use this concept
Yea thanks for letting me know! a few people have pointed that out but I've never played the Gameboy games sadly so I was referring to the mainline games :/
14:47 I am so glad I'm not the only one in this world who would say the boss is allergic to it lol. First video I've ever seen on your channel instant subscribe
It's hard to argue against this guy's opinion, but I think it sort of makes sense for some of those weapons to not be effective in fighting. If I remember the MegaMan lore correctly the robot masters we're original task with serving man by doing jobs that we're too dangerous. They weren't meant for war or security. So those terrible weapons do make sense in terms of writing, but that doesn't mean those weapons should suck that much.
I personally think flame sword is the worst in 8, cuz it has low range and I can't seem to hit a lot of enemies with it, but it does do a lot of damage so it does have that going for it. Then again, been a while since I played 8, so I could be wrong.
You can easily make 4+ videos from Megaman X weapons; Best Megaman X weapons; One that covers the basic shots and one that covers the charged shots Worst Megaman X weapons (same as before) And finally, a video covering best/worst Zero's Techniques, Axl weapons and Vile's weapons. Boom. E-Z content.
Mega Man 1: Bomb Mega Man 2: Crash Mega Man 3: Top/ Spark Mega Man 4: Skull Mega Man 5: Stone Mega Man 6: Flame Mega Man 7: Burst Mega Man 8: Aqua Mega Man 9: Jewel Mega Man 10: Sheep Mega Man 11: Oh, man. I really don’t remember since I’ve only played through it once. I’ll have to play again soon. Mega Man & Bass: Haven’t played it but I should. I think your list was great! It was an entertaining video.
I can understand most of the list but I don't think Jewell Satellite should have been choosen as MegaMan 9's worst weapon, it may not be as good as the junk sheild but it's still a good sheild on its own personally I would have chosen the Plug ball or the concrete shot
Leaf Shield lets you easily farm health, power, and 1-Ups in spots in several stages. I don't count "The boss is only damaged by this one weapon" situations as real "usefulness", as that is pretty much the devs admitting that a weapon is terrible. Either they felt they had to manufacture a justification for its existence (but didn't want to put any effort into it), or they wanted to make a boss more "challenging" by requiring you hit it with the hardest to use weapon. Therefore Bubble Lead remains the worst weapon in MM2.
This is a bit odd: I agree with your reasoning but not your conclusion. The developers control how weak enemies are to weapons, so how much weight do you give to an enemy (even a boss) or even multiple enemies taking more or less damage? I think it counts for something, but definitely shouldn't be the main factor in evaluating a weapon. However, the Bubble Lead is *saved* by this argument. It can hit low enemies the buster misses, and it can be used to reveal false floors. Shield weapons are awkward in that sections which require them can feel as forced as "Boss is allergic to [insert weapon]" scenarios. Let me know where you use the Leaf Shield to farm; I can believe I've been doing it wrong for the last 30 years, but most places I can think of, a difference weapon is better at it. The Flash Stopper is really only "good" for those laser traps, which again is kind of like how Quick Man is allergic to it; why does the game have to be that way? I think the Flash Stopper, whether it is good or not, is seriously flawed because you can't stop using it until its Energy runs out. Is there really a good use for the Atomic Fire outside of exploiting Weakness? Its uncharged shot should really be a "better buster" (even if we're never going to need it as that because the Metal Blades are _too_ good), especially with how long and how much Energy its charge shot takes.
@@KamisamanoOtaku I give additional demerits to mandatory weapons. Bubble Lead isn't just mandatory, it is mandatory for the final boss. Crash Bomber also commits this sin, but is slightly less offensive for 'only' being a stage boss. Flash Stopper isn't mandatory, which arguably could make it more useless but avoids making it offensive. As for Bubble Lead finding pitfalls, there are only a handful in the entire game, and I believe none until the Wily stages. There are arguably so few that it is easier to just to trial and error them, particularly since you won't even know to start testing for pitfalls until after you've already fallen into one in that area. It *is* nice the devs gave it this use, but I'd argue Flash Stopper aid against lasers is more useful. I agree Flash Stopper is pretty flawed. It really does need either the ability to end its effect early, or the ability to deal damage while it is active. For the latter, a 'lazy' approach would be to deal damage to everything onscreen (as already happens with Quick Man). A 'better' approach might be to let you fire your gun while time is frozen, but each shot costs additional weapon energy. Or maybe something like letting now damage enemies by running into them, instead of them damaging you. I also agree Atomic Fire doesn't do much of anything to justify its own existence. You can't even defend it with the Metal Blade excuse, that Metal Blade is so busted all around good that it makes everything else worse and/or redundant. (For example, Air Shooter and Bubble Lead would be useful for hitting enemies above or below you, if Metal Blade didn't exist.) Atomic Fire wouldn't really be any better without Metal Blade. As for Leaf Shield farming, you find a place that constantly produced enemies that get one-shotted by the shield, press a button once, and then just wait as item drops pile up. After a while, collect the ones that didn't fall directly on you, and then repeat. That is easier than having to pressing the fire button for every enemy you want to kill. Depending on the spot, if time isn't an issue then you might even be able to set yourself up and then go fix dinner or something. Good locations would be stuff like the walkway in Air Man's stage where only birds dropping eggs appear, or the screen that constantly spawns those boomerang looking creatures.
@@BainesMkII Thank you for the response. :) First, let me say that I noticed I kept saying "Flash Stopper" instead of "Time Stopper". My bad! Second, I prefer the Metal Blade for the places you mention for farming with the Leaf Shield. However, this could boil down to personal taste: I just prefer chucking a Metal Blade or three and collecting what drops (especially against the bird eggs) than waiting for stuff to crash into the Leaf Shield. Which, as I just said, could easily be a matter of personal taste so I will recognize that as a solid use for the Leaf Shield. Next, let me address a more general point, where if we don't agree, I've probably be wasting your time (and I'd prefer not to waste your time). I tend to look at a Weapon's concept, and not just its execution. As some weapon reuses have pointed out, a lot of this is arbitrary. If a weapon's only upside is that the powers-that-be decided it should be the final boss's Weakness, I'm not going to see that alone as a compelling reason for a weapon being good. Now, if some property of the weapon _apart_ from damage is the reason (or at least another factor), then I'll count it. This probably isn't too odd to you, but the same goes for Stage design: if Stage feels artificially difficult unless you use [insert Weapon] to deal with a problem that didn't really need to be there in the first place, that's an issue. The inverse of these is also true; if there's a use for the weapon that seems natural and (at least a little) fun, but the designers don't utilize it, it counts against the weapon _some_ but it won't carry the kind of weight of "Is it fun?" I really prefer all weapons do something beyond "does differing amounts of damage." These added factors need to still make sense from a game design standpoint, and should still be "fun". I don't know if I am 100% convinced enemies too low for Mega Man to shoot with his arm cannon is a good design choice (seems forced), but I do believe that the false floors fit within the parameters for good platforming action, at least in Mega Man when we're giving him multiple ways to deal with it (one of which is the Bubble Lead). With the added information you gave, I understand why you still believe the Bubble Lead to be worse. I hope I have explained part of my disagreement clearly: I don't count some of the points you bring up against the Bubble Lead, or at least, I don't count them as much against it. It still isn't a great weapon; I just don't believe it qualifies as the worst. Getting to the other three weapons being put for as "worst" (Atomic Fire, Flash Stopper, Leaf Shield), you've made a solid point with the Leaf Shield. I'm not sure if it is enough to make it a "good" Shield Weapon, but I can no longer say it is clearly the worst. So, let me address what you said about the other two. The Time Stopper's two main uses are to make a cheap-even-by-NES-standards section (the "death beam" segment in Quick Man's Stage) seem less cheap by comparison, and to be Quick Man's "allergy". I find Quick Man a frustrating boss to face, barring times when I get lucky and he just decides to run into a corner... and stay there, running in place. O_o I don't especially enjoy either the Stage hazard or the boss battle, but I've learned to navigate the death beams WITHOUT the Time Stopper, because I know I need it to take out Quick Man. I don't think it should be the easy kill like it is in the "Normal Difficulty" of the North American release of Mega Man 2, though. So I don't give the Time Stopper a lot of credit for its two main uses... but I DO think it is a good idea for a Boss Weapon or Item. The very obvious design flaw of being unable to TURN IT OFF at will is where I think it falls way short, so short it may be the worst Weapon in the game. It would have been as simple as pressing the Fire button once activates the Time Stopper, and tapping it again turns it off. Or have us hold down the Fire Button to "freeze" time. Being able to turn it on or off also means that having a partial Energy meter for it when you reach Quick Man would have been more likely; so it didn't seem like quite as silly a weakness for him. Also, I'm NOT knocking your idea for the Time Stopper; Bright Man's Flash Stopper doesn't work quite how you suggested the Time Stopper work, but it is similar enough I think your idea was quite plausible. The Atomic Fire is just so disappointing, though. It doesn't really have an "alternate" use, unless I missed an environmental interaction somewhere. I'm not holding the fact that Woodman has a clever vulnerability to the Crash Bomb, or even that he's pretty quickly felled with the alternate strategy of the Metal Blade, against the Atomic Fire. What I'm holding against it is that "fixing" it would have been super easy, almost as easy as the Flash Stopper Given that a "charge shot" was added to the arm cannon to make it the Mega Buster we all know and (at least some of us) love. Just make the Atomic Fire more Energy efficient, and it becomes a solid weapon. So, we have a not-as-creative idea which a garbage execution, which is why I'm so hard on the Atomic Fire. So... I think all four of the Weapons from Mega Man 2 we've discussed are deeply flawed. You've made a good case for why the Leaf Shield isn't the clear failure I thought it was, so I thank you for that. Let me know if you agree or disagree with what I've added, and I again thank you for the discussion. :) *Edit:* After all that, I had to edit my post because I went to say "I'm not knocking..." and instead wrote "I'm that knocking..." @_@
1 - the tie between Hyper Bomb and Super Arm is insane. A weapon that can't be used most of the time, or a weapons thats mostly useless? Super Arm has power at least, so the hyper bombs the worst. (Powered Up wise makes Super Arm the worst. Oil Slider has speedrun potential, and the hyper bomb is fixed) 2 - a good number of cruddy weapons, but the worst is Atomic fire. It's a really poor charge weapon outclassed by all other charged weapons, even the wild coil which is mid (side note: bubble lead in Dr Wilys Revenge is great somehow) 3 - Spark Shot or Top Spin? Another dilemma, but Top Spin can kill enemies while spark shot refuses to let you switch. Easily spark shot 4 - a decent weapon line-up, but skull barrier easily falls short. There's almost no benefit to it 5 - When a C-Tier weapon (Gyro Attack) is your best RM weapon you know you're in trouble. Power Stone is the choice here, being so terrible its funny. At least slide kick has invincibility frames as short as it is 6 - some stromg weapons with a few weak ones. Wind's weapon is a worse version of bubble lead while plant barriers the worst. Its another skull barrier. 7 - danger wrap is hard to use, but it can be used for a lot of great affect. Holding down while firing drops it like a mine, which is great for damage. Scorch Wheel is the worst as its weak, takes too long to wind up, and you cant even hold it out. 8 - Purely weapon wise, water balloon is just a crappy buster shot. Rush Bike is technically a worse "weapon" though. & Bass - huge disagree on flamethrower. It wipes weak enemies quickly and also deals continuous damage to big enemies. Dynamos weapon is a life saved against King 2' jet boss, so the worst goes to the clones. It doesn't feel very useful to have a static megaman fire one spot with all the annoying enemies. 9 - HUGE disagree on Jewel Satelliete, its actually one of the most broken weapons in mega man. Tornado Man's weapon is my choice since concrete shot has utility uses. Tornados wep can only be used 4 times 10 - Thunder Wool obviously, but a close second for Rebound Strike. It's not useful to have a weapon needing to bounce all around to get more powerful only for it to miss 11 - even un-upgraded the acod barrier isn't the worst. Chain Blast is far worse for taking too long to detonate and needing 3-4 shots to get a good devastation area. Acid Barrier upgraded slaps, but the worst upgraded is tundras simply for eating ammo.
20:00 Shows what the fans know, since having a piece of the boss or an element/weapon icon on his helmet was planned to be part of Mega Man's design ever since the first game came out.
Not defending these too much here, but I learned years later that holding Down when you use Danger Wrap and Tengu Blade lets you drop them on the ground, which gives them a surprising bit of versatility compared to some other weapons.
The ball weapon is pretty easy to use to climb. You jump, use it near the apex of the jump while pushing towards it, press jump. You might even be able to hold jump. It's been a few years.
There's one thing useful about guts man's weapon not being able to do anything unless your next to a block: it helps a significant bunch in the clone Megaman fight and makes it WAY easier
Fun fact about that Mega Man costume bit in 11. His armor was always meant to change depending on his Ability since the very start. It's just that they had to settle on only having his color pallet changing due to console limitations.
Imagine how he would've appeared in MM6 when using CENTAUR Flash!! :O
I actually loved having the different helmets, it gave the weapons more personality especially since so many color schemes get reused. It also isn't all *that* different since Mega Man still changes color.
@@toryficarola oh god i dont want to imagine that
@@Newbie_hiblitzwhen mega man shoots, he will turn around so his booty faces the screen

Napalm Bomb does more damage
Napalm Bomb uses less ammo
You can have 3 Napalm Bombs onscreen at a time compared to Water Wave's 1
You can fire Napalm Bomb in the air, Water Wave can only be fired on the ground
The only things Water Wave has going for it is that it can absorb enemy projectiles (I've never found any use for this) and it has three segments, so it can potentially defeat three small enemies in one burst, a property I've only found useful against the mets that split into smaller mets in Stone Man's stage. Otherwise, its just a direct downgrade to Napalm Bomb.
The Charge kick from Mega Man 5 did receive a major buff in Mega Man Maker. Now you can kick in the air, which stalls your vertical momentum, and you gain super armor, which makes it much more practical.
So did top spin. In MMM, instead of making contact with the enemy, you now bounce on top of it, like Bounce Man's bouncy ball gimmick.
It also made gemini laser not bad!
I love seeing all the comments even if most of them are telling me I'm dumb lololol
Thanks for watching the video I'm glad you enjoyed!! :)
Mega Man Community is best wholesome community!
@@VideoGameAnimationStudyholy shit what are you doing here???
Jewel Shield and Junk Shield are the best shield weapons, undeniable.
I'm for Junk Shields superior damage and actually existing after an transition.
Don’t forget acid shield
Shield boomerang
It also reflects projectiles so you don't have to deal with those annoying Joes!
Really, having the bombs explode on contact makes the weapon waaaaaaay better. You can actually hit things with it!
Also the fact that they made two whole new robot masters.
I disagree with skull barrier being the worst in 4. I used it last night and it helped me progress through the levels without getting hit.
Fair enough lol, I just personally don't like using shield weapons
>"Jewel Satellite is bad."
>Shows footage of JS acting like a traditional shield weapon minus having no hit limit, allowing you to just plow through everything.
It's just really lame compared to every other weapon, notice how optimal Jewel satellite gameplay is me sitting there standing still or just walking, it's not horrible but it's not fun and the other weapons seem better imo (except plug ball lol)
@@tooterp
Then you probably should've gone with Plug Ball and not what is considered, according to the wiki, the BEST Shield weapon in MM Classic if not the whole series due to not having negligible durability due to only dissipating against enemies it doesn't oneshot, a negligible on-activation energy cost that can be easily made back off the kills it gets, and being able to be maintained for a whole screen due to the above mentioned traits.
Yea but it's boring and if you're already good at MegaMan there's no point lolol, also junk shield is way better than Jewel satellite
Tbh tho part of the reason I chose it was to keep the running joke with shield weapons which is why I brought up plug ball but I still think it's the second worst weapon in 9 only second to plug ball
It kinda seemed weird, jewel satellite is by far one of the best weapons in the game.
Before the list even starts, time to give my opinions!
1: Hyper Bomb, no question. Takes too long to blow up.
2: Easily Leaf Shield, not being able to move tears it.
3: Hello Spark Shock
4: Skull Barrier is too weak.
5: Water Wave.
6: Honestly I use all the weapons in 6, but if I *had* to pick one... I'd probably say Plant Barrier.
7: Freeze Cracker
8: Once again, I use all the weapons. I guess I'd say Flame Sword just because it's too weak for its short reach.
&B: I don't care for Ice Wall.
9: HELLO CONCRETE SHOT
10: Thunder Wool, no question
11: Another one I use all the weapons for.
6: Agreed tbh
7: The Game Boy games started the 2 sets of 4.
Also, Danger Wrap? Really? You realize that you can change its trajectory by moving, not moving, or holding up, right? Or that you can just lay down the mine by holding down while firing, right?
8: Tornado Hold shreds through enemies, and tbh I use it a *lot.* It's nowhere near as bad as Flame Sword
&B: Honestly fair, I just don't like how slow Ice Wall is half the time.
@@pyraswolf4263 It doesn't make you invincible, no, but standard enemies that take damage from it don't stay around long enough to damage you after the fact, so the only thing that makes you take damage while trying to use it is Shadow Man, because unlike everything else that can be damaged by Top Spin, he has invulnerability frames.
thats fair
@@ShursGarden Thanks for the comment I learn some tidbits of some useful information
That power stone footage was actively triggering. That weapon is like the opposite of the oddly satisfying.
Tornado Hold is probably one of my favorites from MM8 tbh.
I like weapons that have extra utility as a movement option, Tornado Hold acts as a full-on replacement for Rush Coil in a lot areas, really fun to just put down and use, gotta hate the disrespect you give to it.
Fair enough, I had trouble picking the mm8 weapon and I ended up with tornado hold because it's hard to use on enemies
Yeah, it is a Rush Coil replacement, can act as a wall or barrier against oncoming attacks, and it is fun to torment Clown Man with it.
Yea. I LOVE using it on Clown Man. Whenever he gets hit with it, he flies up, gets all twisted (like a drawer of extension cords), says, "What're you doing!?" Lands. "OW!"
@@johnhanzelyjr He also cries for his "Mommy!" sometimes too.
@@darkdragonmedeus705 Yup. Love using Tornado Hold on him. 🤣🤣🤣
Considering Jewel Satellite is a shield styled weapon that can actually be useful, I can't consider that to be MM9's worst weapon. I would go with Plug Ball being the worst instead.
Yea most people have said that and that's fair, I just never use it since I like being able to shoot projectiles lmao
@@tooterp On the shooting thing, IIRC, Jewel Satellite doesn't have to stay on Mega Man as it can be thrown as a weapon just like Star Crash was.
You forgot to mention Top Spin's bug where it will suddenly drain power super fast, which is usually noticeable when using it against Shadow Man.
Fixed in the wily wars, where it actually has a use.

Interesting, Woodman weapon is one the most useful ones to farm extra lives in MegaMan 2, so in my opinion this weapon is far from being the worst of the game.
I'm here to defend Top Spin.
While not a great weapon, it can still be useful. The standard enemies that it's weak to all die to one hit with it, and it easily takes out most of the fortress bosses, including Gamma's second phase. It's also useful against Shadow Man since he's one of the toughest bosses in the entire game.
Yea I'm aware it has it's uses but even when I try to use it in those scenarios I just take damage and die half the time lolol
I'd take Top Spin over Spark Shock any day. Hell I'd take wet toilet paper over Spark Shock any day.
It one-shots the final boss!
Mega Man 1 I agree Hyper Bomb is bad
Mega Man 2 i think the title would go to Atomic fire, it’s basically a beta charge shot and it’s pretty bad, the low charge shots are super weak, the medium shots are glitchy and the full charge takes up a lot of weapon energy.
Mega Man 6 i agree it’s plant barrier
Mega Man 7 id give to scorch wheel, i find it hard to hit anything with it and when i do it does barely anything.
Mega Man 10 is thunder wool i completely forgot that existed
Mega Man 11 i didnt see at any point you bring up the power gear variants, in which case acid barrier is far from the worst. Id give the title to tundra storm, extremely low horizontal range by default and then with power gear it’s a screen clear but its also an energy clear, it uses a lot of weapon energy.
"Mega Man 4 definitely isn't Skull Barrier, it can block enemies plus it has a ton of weapon energy."
It's useless at protecting you from spikes and can't even kill enemies with SHIELDS. How can you say it's not the worst?!
"Mega Man 6 i agree it’s plant barrier"

Hehe, Sheep Man in general is like the dumbest robot master ever.
@@GlitchanBlack when has a shield weapon ever protected you from spikes
plus yes it can block and kill enemies and even projectiles as well
Top Spin is actually very good.
Plug Ball is only marginally useful sometimes.
Jewel Satellite can be abused to grind bolts from Tellies.
Top Spin is one of the most underrated weapons in the series. It kills so many annoying enemies in one hit and it only takes minimal effort to master

Megaman:super arm
Megaman 2:flash stopper
Megaman 3:top spin
Megaman 4:skull barrier

Megaman 7:scorh wheel
Megaman 8:water balloon
Megaman and bass:magic card
Megaman 9:plug ball
Megaman 10:thunder bolt
Megaman 11:chain blast
Personally, I get a ton of use from the Skull Shield in that one section of Drill Man’s stage with the falling rocks.
Power Stone is actually really fun to use. It's all about experimentation.
Yea that's true! and knowing about the pause cancelling trick makes it a lot easier lolol
I will agree on questioning why tornado hold is a weapon but is really calling it the worst it can make playing the game easier just try to find your way around Astro man stage without tornado hold

Just like sonic 😎😎
Well, wave burner can be used against spines, and also, it’s high close range damage. So take that as you will
I actually love all mega man weapons pretty equally.
Jewel Satellite doesn't need that. It's already really good as is. Tornado Hold just fits more in 9. Otherwise I agree with this.
Fair enough ^^
Tbf, my only issue with it is that I feel it drains too fast in some scenarios. If the weapon doesn't survive the entire boss fight with a full energy bar (with the exception of Time stopper) then there's a small problem
That's actually something I don't like about Tornado hold compared to some screen nukes too. Why can't it take Four weapon energy per shot like all other screen nukes?

Jewel Satellite makes sense since it needs something to balance it.
It also has a secondary use.)
2. Quick Boomerang (I am gonna say it. I don't like Metal Blade. It's so boring to use. Quick Boomerang adds few things to look out.)
3. Shadow Blade (Now this is Metal Blade done right!)
4. Ring Boomerang (Again! I find Pharaoh Shot to be broken. It was close call between this and drill bomb but at least Ring Boomerang doesn't make any annoying sound.)
5. Napalm Bomb (You know, I prefer this over Buster. It's good for Weapon Only run.)
6. Knight Crush (I was surprised you dislike Knight Crush. I mean it's strong and balanced.)
V. Spark Chaser (Kinda awkward to use but I like it.)
7. Danger Wrap (Ironic! Also, as established by now, I like weapons that actually need some skills to use rather than an easy way out like Junk Shield and this weapon is no different. Not gonna lie, Power Stone requires *too* much skills.)
8. Tornado Hold (Ironic yet again! But It's strong and it's balanced by it's lack of horizontal range.)
MM&B. Remote Mine (Because why not?)
9. Concrete Shot (I 100% agree with NE that this is *the* best weapon in any Mega Man classic game! There's no weapon better than this.... so far.)
10. But, Sheep Man is actually a very adorable robot master.)
11. Scramble Thunder (What can I say? Almost every weapon in the game breaks the game. I think it has to be Scramble Thunder because it breaks the game the least.)
ALRIGHT I STRONGELY DISAGREE ON QUICK BOOMERANG RING BOOMERANG KNIGHT CRUSH DANGER WRAP AND NALPAM BOMB metal blade is amazing and fun to use and so satisfying to tear everything to bolts and screws with it danger wrap is just a medium weapon its not really nuttin special like sure you can drop mines on the ground but they only last for like 6 seconds if it was longer then maybe i would understand why this is your favorite knight crush is weird to use to be honest my favorite from 6 is probably centaur flash i love screen clear weapons ring boomerang its a great weapon dont get me wrong but compared to weapons such as rain flush flash stopper pharoh shot and dive missle this weapon isnt my favorite from 4 but its great napalm bomb this weapon is slow doesnt do the most damage for a bomb weapon and its hard to use against stone man so yeah i also made a tier list video on my channel ranking mega man weapons check it out if you wanna see how i feel about every weapon in the series except for 11 V and powered up
@@PlushRushInc You are entitled to your own beliefs.
Also, the slander of Hell Wheel, a weapon that was designed to be stupidly OP.
I also hate spark shot if that makes you feel better lol
True but you can skip those sections entirely with item 1 lol
How to fix each of these:
Hyper Bombs - detonate when the fire button is pressed, can launch in a higher arc
Leaf Shield - can use while moving, only launches when fire is pressed again
Top Spin - can use on the ground, reflects enemy shots, invincible while using in air
Skull Barrier - doesn't stop after one hit (how many hits would depend on what hits it), can fire arm cannon while using it
Charge Kick - invincible while using (and a few frames after)
Plant Barrier - see Skull Barrier
Danger Wrap - this one's fine, not great, but not broken enough to need fixing either
Tornado Hold - add a horizontal mode that works like Storm Tornado from Mega Man X
Wave Burner - longer range
Jewel Satellite (ANOTHER fricking shield weapon? REALLY?) - make it launchable in any direction instead of just forward
Thunder Wool - the cloud tracks enemies on the ground and targets them with the lightning
Acid Barrier - make the acid shots able to hit small enemies on the ground in front of Mega Man
Hyper Bomb:You buffing it the wrong way there already Thunder Beam for enemy above so what it need is more distance.
@@Megaman-2407 That's a lot better then what I came up with.
Charge Kick is already invulnerable while using it
You could take the MM8BDM route:
Hyper Bomb - huge radius and shorter fuse
Leaf Shield - Counterattacks with projectiles if hit
Top Spin - huge damage, so you instakill enemies and don't need invul. Also fix the ammo bug.
Skull Barrier - No damage, invulnerability and drains on time. Also immune to spikes
Charge Kick - it's just fast. Really fast. And can be used in the air.
Plant Barrier - Heals slowly, but drains ammo over time. Doesn''t dispell with one hit either.
Bubble Wrap - the same pretty much
Tornado Hold - Also same. It doesn't need to be much better, it's mostly for platforming.
Wave Burner - Range
Jewel Satelllite - It's already super strong wtf
Thunder Wool - Sparks the ground around where the bolt hits, so hits a lot on the screen at once.
You could also take the MM Maker approach
Most of these don't really need fixing. Also, you're already invincible while using Charge Kick
My picks for the worst weapons are
MM1-Super arm
MM2-Leaf Shield
MM3-Top spin
MM4 Skull barrier
MM5-Power stone
MM6-Plant Barrier
MM7-Danger wrap
MM8-Water balloon
MM9-Plug Ball
MM10-Thunder Wool
MM11-Acid Barrier
I really like how they improve these weapons in Megaman Maker though, my favorites being Top Spin which lets you bouce off enemies like Mario and Dive Kick which lets you do a kick mid-air and a double jump if you time it.
Yes!! I've heard in mega maker most of the weapons I hate are way better so I definitely need to check that out!
The "Pick 4 Robots now and another 4 later" didn't start with MegaMan 7. That actually began with the GameBoy Mega Man games.
Bubble Lead does absolutely nothing of use outside beat bosses and spot a few fake platforms the first time around, the Mega buster is straight up better
3 - It's not random, it's a jank hitbox, and the weapon energy amounts to "don't hold down the button while bosses are invulnerable".
6 - tbh not too familiar with all the weapons there but shield sure
7 - yeah
8 - I would have chosen Clown Man's but that really just amounts to preference.
& Bass - Yeah it's that
9 - Jewel Shield is easily the most busted Shield in Mega Man behind Junk's.
Lol
If I think im right, skull barrier actualy prevents you from dying of spikes as Long as its activated
I was going to make a sarcastic comment saying "Thank you for remembering RockMan & Forte!" but then you actually DID show it... and it brought a smile to my face, thank you
I could never forget about Rockman & Forte! Thanks for watching lolol :)
@@tooterp I'll never understand why some people consider it to be like the bastard child of MM8 and even less why it was compared to MMX6, my first experience was with the GBA version... but I think it was pretty good nonetheless!.. maybe except for some sections in level design that might feel unfair, but it's nothing one can't learn with trial and error, my 6y/o brother is the testament of this (Still can't believe he completed the intro and the balloon section of Tengu Man on his own, sadly everything after proved to be too difficult for him)
Anyways, I'll be subscribing if you don't mind... if not to remember myself about watching your other videos, I'll do it for future content, cause I really wanna see more of this.
This video makes me wonder what Mega Man 8 would be like if it used the weapons from Mega Man & Bass instead.
It's not hard to understand, right?
or you could just dodge :/
I find it weird that 5 is one of my favorite Mega Man games despite having a terrible weapon selection.
It's certainly the easiest to do a Buster Only run, and in many ways is better than using their weaknesses.
"Junk Shield is not garbage." I just love how that sounds out of context.
4:13 as a personal view,i see it more usable in crash man stage specially with those. freaking. birds.
Fun fact: top spin one shots the final phase of gamma.
if you use power gear with acid barrier you get a sheild that can damage enemies and you can turn off power gear and still have a stronger better sheild
I think the only thing you can do now is find the best, worst, stupidest and ugliest Mega Man utility item. Prepare to hear a lot of shade (Man) about Rush.
Tornado hold is a weapon because they gave it to Mega Man in the Marvel VS Capcom games.
Hey gutmans useless weapon really helped me in the megaman mirror match.
For 17:30 also good sir Skull Barrier DOES protect you from spikes, and yeah thats why it goes in one shot.
And also heres my list of "Not So Good weapons..." I wouldn't call all of them the worse... :T
MM1 - Guts Arm - You can't do shyt at all without a Guts Block in the vicinity.
Am I the only one who did enjoy using the Rain Flush?
Just me? That’s ok too…
There is some irony that the shield that is least garbage is the one made of garbage
Mega Man & Bass is actually popular in the Mega Man Community, just an FYI 😏
Oh dang that's good to hear! I usually just hear people saying it's too hard so it's good to know it still gets some love! :)
@@tooterp It gets a bad rep but it's actually fun. I think a lot of hate tends to stem from the GBA port, which had a bit of screen crunch (but I think it makes all the difference).
If one can get hold of a SNES copy, it's significantly better, I find.
The Mega Man cosplay is there to help you know exactly whose powers you are using since weapon selection is on the fly.
Yea flame man's weapon is even more useful against the mini bosses in plant mans stage lolol
Not Bubble Lead (pb) ,but Bubble "Leed" as in it "Leads" you past traps.
Me looking at the thumbnail top spin:MONKE LIKES TO SPIN
Really, I think Jewel Satellite is awesome, because you can walk through most weak enemies like their puffs of smoke.
Also, going to be honest, I like Mega Man 8, mainly because I have a nostalgic attachment to it.
Yea most people seem to like Jewel satellite but I don't mind just shooting enemies with my buster lolol
Also yea I actually like MegaMan 8 a lot tbh I just also like making fun of it lololol
the issue is that all the weapons in 9 are great
@@TsukiStuffs Concrete Shot exists
@@ShursGarden concrete shot is literally one of the best ones what
@@TsukiStuffs It has all of like, 12 uses, barely lands in front of your face, and the game refuses to tell you about its other properties of freezing the magma beams or blocking lasers.
I like to think that the true power of the Top Spin was Megaman's child like wonderment.

9:18 glad to see we’re not the only ones who think that Napalm Man fires giant peanuts! (Also waiting for your rant about Charge Man)
You can easily make 4+ videos from Megaman X weapons;
Best Megaman X weapons; One that covers the basic shots and one that covers the charged shots
Worst Megaman X weapons (same as before)
And finally, a video covering best/worst Zero's Techniques, Axl weapons and Vile's weapons.
Boom. E-Z content.
That's definitely a good idea! Tho idk if I'd consider it to be easy content 😅

Mega Man 2: Crash
Mega Man 3: Top/ Spark
Mega Man 4: Skull
Mega Man 5: Stone
Mega Man 6: Flame
Mega Man 7: Burst
Mega Man 8: Aqua
Mega Man 9: Jewel
Mega Man 10: Sheep
Mega Man 11: Oh, man. I really don’t remember since I’ve only played through it once. I’ll have to play again soon.
Mega Man & Bass: Haven’t played it but I should.
I think your list was great! It was an entertaining video.
Thank you so much I'm glad you enjoyed :D
I can understand most of the list but I don't think Jewell Satellite should have been choosen as MegaMan 9's worst weapon, it may not be as good as the junk sheild but it's still a good sheild on its own
personally I would have chosen the Plug ball or the concrete shot
*Edit:* After all that, I had to edit my post because I went to say "I'm not knocking..." and instead wrote "I'm that knocking..." @_@
1 - the tie between Hyper Bomb and Super Arm is insane. A weapon that can't be used most of the time, or a weapons thats mostly useless? Super Arm has power at least, so the hyper bombs the worst.
(Powered Up wise makes Super Arm the worst. Oil Slider has speedrun potential, and the hyper bomb is fixed)
2 - a good number of cruddy weapons, but the worst is Atomic fire. It's a really poor charge weapon outclassed by all other charged weapons, even the wild coil which is mid (side note: bubble lead in Dr Wilys Revenge is great somehow)
3 - Spark Shot or Top Spin? Another dilemma, but Top Spin can kill enemies while spark shot refuses to let you switch. Easily spark shot
4 - a decent weapon line-up, but skull barrier easily falls short. There's almost no benefit to it
5 - When a C-Tier weapon (Gyro Attack) is your best RM weapon you know you're in trouble. Power Stone is the choice here, being so terrible its funny. At least slide kick has invincibility frames as short as it is
6 - some stromg weapons with a few weak ones.
Tornados wep can only be used 4 times
10 - Thunder Wool obviously, but a close second for Rebound Strike. It's not useful to have a weapon needing to bounce all around to get more powerful only for it to miss
11 - even un-upgraded the acod barrier isn't the worst.
It's Bubble Lead (leed). There's a spot in the purple Wily stage where you shoot it to reveal hidden holes in the floor: it "leads" the way.
this was such a fun video to watch!! Really good job here, and new subscriber!! Thank you
Jewel Satellite has some quirks like not being able to despawn unless you shoot it, pause, or it hits an enemy it can't kill.
The ball weapon is pretty easy to use to climb. You jump, use it near the apex of the jump while pushing towards it, press jump. You might even be able to hold jump. It's been a few years.
Yea I think it's easy for the first couple of jumps but imo chaining it like the speedrunners do is incredibly difficult >.
@@tooterp that's fair. The game at times felt heavy or sluggish in actions. Too many animation frames from what I remember.
There's one thing useful about guts man's weapon not being able to do anything unless your next to a block: it helps a significant bunch in the clone Megaman fight and makes it WAY easier
So let me get this straight. The only non garbage shield weapon is the one made of literal garbage?
Yes
