I also feel that Here There and Everywhere from the Beatles album Revolver is a beautiful ..if not THE best love song ever written. Then I'm a tad biased since The Beatles are my all time favorite band EVER!! ✌❤🎶😁
I don't remember who said it but (and I'm paraphrasing here) - Someday soon new fans will find it very hard to believe that once upon a time in the 1970s and 80s Paul and Linda's relationship was the butt of every joke instead of the amazing love story we know it to be now. They spent one night apart in all their years, his one night in jail in Japan, married before she passed. People forget that when she was sick he stopped EVERYTHING. Touring, recording, appearances. Everything to spend every night with his beloved wife. What a story.
Paul's first single after the Beatle breakup. Played all the instruments himself on the whole album, with wife Linda doing all the backup vocals. It was a trip listening to solo Beatle music at the time. This is still one of Paul's best ever songs.
sorry to be pedantic but Paul didn't release any singles off that first solo record. Maybe I'm Amazed became a hit in 1977 in a live version, it was just an album track before that.
@@dawndriscoll3344 Although it was the first single of McCartney's solo career, "Another Day" was written and previewed during the Beatles' Let It Be sessions in 1969. It was released on 19 February 1971 in the UK, with "Oh Woman, Oh Why" as the B-side. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Another_Day_(Paul_McCartney_song)
Paul did not release this song Maybe I am amazed. If he done that, it would have been a massive hit. Many years later a live Wings's version cam out as a single Paul's first post-Beatles song was Another Day
Paul McCartney (solo) and Paul McCartney and Wings would be great rabbit hole to jump in. I don’t know any other reactors who have done that, but there is an endless number of great songs and performances.
I agree. All of his 70s solo work along with his Wings work is incredible. Red Rose Speed way should be heard as the double album it was meant to be in the first place
I recommend from Paul McCartney: “Band on the Run”. The transitions will blow your mind. Also “Silly Love Songs” which has one the best bass lines ever written.
I think you'd love the Paul/Wings tunes "Band on the Run," "Uncle Albert/Admiral Halsey," and "Mull of Kintyre." I'm definitely a fan of Wings. He was still in his prime, vocally and writing-ly.
Linda really did dig him out of the dark hole he went into after the Beatles split up. It was very traumatic for him, and he got very depressed, didn't want to get out of bed, and hit the bottle pretty badly. I think the 'hung me on the line' MIGHT have meant, in this case literally, to dry out, as in, from the alcohol - but that's only a guess. When he thought his career was over, Linda encouraged him to start again, doing his own music, and again, literally 'helped him sing his song', singing backing vocals and learning piano/keyboard to accompany him, thus giving him the courage and support to face the world again, and ultimately, put together his own band... which included, on his insistence, despite much public criticism due to her amateur musical status, his lovely Linda....
Best Carpool Karaoke ever. James Cordan should do the same with other stars. Not just cruising around LA. The stories which Paul told driving around Liverpool were heartfelt and a new layer to the Artist that is Sir Paul McCartney.
He wrote this for his wife Linda, who supported him and helped in so many ways. She sadly died from cancer. I can't remember when. But he loved her so much and was so crazy about her. The picture in the video was actually her idea
This is my favorite Paul McCartney song & it makes my heart smile every time I hear it. 🙂 You've come so far, Jay. I remember when you first started reacting to the Beatles & Paul was playing the piano & you weren't sure of his name. Now, you're calling him "SIR Paul McCartney"! I love it! You've been on such a cool journey. 🎵✌
It really is such a beautiful song about his wife. I love this couple. Paul and Linda. He wrote this right after the Beatles broke up and LInda was his rock.
Paul did play ALL of the instruments on this track. It was from his first solo album which was basically "home made." His wife Linda provided some background vocals.
I enjoy the look on your face, it’s like you totally are thinking, “Oh yeah, this is one of the legends, i should have expected this greatness from a G.O.A.T”
This is from 1970, made when the Beatles were breaking up and Paul really was “a lonely man who’s in the middle of something that he doesn’t really understand.”
Not only did he play all the instruments but this was recorded entirely on his farm in Scotland. People hear pop star and farm and think of some luxurious house and so forth and this was the exact opposite. They didn't even have indoor facilities at first. It was a very basic existence that both Paul and Linda wanted at that time. I watched a fascinating program with Paul and his two daughters on Linda and her photography and the pictures from this time are very illuminating. All that is to say he didn't have a high-tech studio to work with and basically had to put something together from scratch. All while going through the absolute worst of the break-up. You can feel the emotion for sure.
The several tracks from this album that were recorded at home were in his London home where he had equipment from EMI (Abbey Road) brought in. Although he had been spending time in is Scotland home none of this album was recorded there. Maybe I'm Amazed was recorded at Abbey Road 👍

His first really massive solo hit after the breakup of the Beatles, and one of my favorites from him. Paul played all the instruments and sang most of the vocals on this, his first solo album, McCartney, with wife Linda providing backing vocals as well. This would actually be his last solo album for nearly a dozen years, as he formed Wings right after this (although the first real Wings album, Ram, would be credited just to Paul & Linda).
McCartney wrote, sang and played ALL the instruments (including drums) in the original studio version. Linda, his wife, sang background vocals Another fine example of Paul's vocals is the song "Oh, Darlin'" by the Beatles.
Paul plays a sick bassline on the song Don't Say Goodnight Tonight.....must check it out.....actually anything by McCartney and Wings is worth a listen...like for instance....Bluebird.....such a great talent!

This version, live, in his latest years is just a piece of jewlery, specially for Abe Laboriel's passion (he's today's Paul band's drummer). You should see how much energy he puts in that play (and he also sings beautifully!) and Paul just sings his heart out.
So true Paul Played all the Instruments on this, he is so talented and deserves even more credit than he already gets. Not only was this song wrote for Linda but so was the Beatles sing Two of Us
The album Venus and Mars by Paul McCartney and Wings is incredible. You can listen to any track and be amazed, but I highly recommend this track Letting go. 😊

What's really amazing in this song is Sir Paul played all the instruments. Vocals too, with the aid of Linda. R.I.P. Linda McCartney.
Paul wrote this for the love of his life, his wife Linda, who tragically died at only age 56 of breast cancer.
That was a sad day when she passed away. She got to do the Beautiful Night video before passing away. Paul and Linda were the best couple ever.

"Live and Let Die" has a very similar feel (from the James Bond movie of the same name). I think you'd really enjoy it.
