Thanks Emma! Lots of different spiders are featured in my later videos. Many of the spiders in this video belonged to my friend and are back with him now.
Greg Rice I've seen most of your videos and they are very well done. ☺ all the spiders featured are very nice. You did a great job looking after your friends spiders 👍
Greg Rice don't worry I will and subed I'm getting into vlogin too check mine out see what you think bit nervous in front of the camera at the moment though
Eugene Lozano Are you asking how often should you feed a spiderling? For spiders under 2.5 cm or 1 inch diagonal legspan, food should be offered once or twice a week. Once they get around 6 cm, once a week or less is good.
my chaco golden knee is about the same side and it multed recently. i think mines a girl cause they look exactly alike. if it was a guy would the golden patches on the knees be slighty visible or dose it take a few more molts to find out ?
This species is not sexually dimorphic until maturity, meaning male and female spiders look pretty much the same until the male reaches sexual maturity. You'll have to look at the molt under a microscope to tell. Watch my sexing video: ua-cam.com/video/eFeCsUi5Mc0/v-deo.html
Hello, just wanted to compliment you on your very healthy looking collection, you must be doing plenty right! If possible, can you tell me where you get your feeders from? Only if in the US. I like thode (forgot the name) but they are SO expensive! I see you have all sizes too. LOVED the cute little OBT with the HUGE prey wrestling, and you M. Balfouri is SO beautiful, didn't know they webbed so much!
+Emily Rice You can feed them mealworms, however they have a high fat content and shouldn't be a regular feeder. A lot of people wouldn't even consider it, but tarantulas will readily accept earthworms. I prefer roaches because they're more meaty, quiet, can't climb, aren't smelly like crickets and are much hardier. I'm actually working on a video about feeders that I'll be uploading soon.
You're going to have to be more specific here for me to give you an answer. The species, current size feeding schedule and the temperature at which you keep the animal all affect its growth rate.
For these videos, the goal here is to get an attack on video for each species. Sometimes it doesn't go as planned and the attack either happens out of frame or the something else goes wrong. Offering a smaller prey item means that if I miss the shot, I can try again in a few hours if I need to without overfeeding the spider.
I'm considering the hobby. Your video is nice, but I don't have crack hearing. Maybe a tad more volume for us middle-aged folks. Also, I'm commenting early in the video, but their dinners don't look that filling. How often do you feed?
Little ones get fed weekly, and adults get fed bi-weekly in the winter. Most are plenty fat. Abdomens should be just a bit larger than the cephalothorax in adults. Slings should be fat so they can grow more quickly.
Michael John Aguilar It's called an Ischnothele caudata. It's a member of the Dupluridae family; not classified under Theraphosidae and therefore not a tarantula. He's a mature male now and not much bigger than he was in this video. Thanks for asking Michael!
Greg Rice ah OK just wondering as I've ordered a green bottle blue as a first T nd it's only a spiderling nd really don't want to lose due to my own naivety nd different websites say different things so would rather get a experienced keepers advice
Chromatopelma cyaneopubescens are pretty hardy spiders even as babies. Hydration is the most important element in a young spider's life. With their smaller body mass they can desiccate much more easily than adults. Be sure it either has a shallow water dish from a water bottle cap or you dampen one corner of the substrate so it can drink water from the dirt.
conor packapunch I'm not a spider, so it's like comparing silly string to a rock on the bottom of the ocean. There's no correlation. Spiders don't need a lot of room. Their housing is adequate. People have given their spiders tons of room and find they will often only use one corner. Roaches are also easier to find in a smaller container.
this nigga was my substitute in chemistry class today...SALUTE. And he gave me a tarantula fang!

I am like deathly afraid of crickets. is it OK to feed my tarantula meal worms instead? and what other bugs/people food can they eat

OK thanks for the help! And nice name btw
You're very welcomed. :)

How many months does it takes to make your sling that big maybe 2 inches? Pls response I sub and like!😊😊💖

@@GregRiceTarantulas owwwhhh ok... So do I need them to put on a dark place?
I like your videos but it is hard to hear you sometimes through out the videos
My Chaco golden knee is not webbing is that normal?
Yes, they’re not known for webbing much, if at all.
@@GregRiceTarantulas Thanks, feels good to hear it from you
whats the second tarantula you're feeding ?
That one is a Cyriopagopus lividum. I called him a Haplopelma lividum, but that was before the genus change.
why do you feed such small roaches to the adults? Do you feed them often? they all look super healthy

Thanks for the details, my friend.
Greg Rice sor what's the name of the last tarantula sling ? at 17:37
Michael John Aguilar It's called an Ischnothele caudata. It's a member of the Dupluridae family; not classified under Theraphosidae and therefore not a tarantula. He's a mature male now and not much bigger than he was in this video. Thanks for asking Michael!
Greg Rice thank you sir :D
how often do you feed your Ts
I feed based on abdomen size, not on a regular schedule. I have some fat spiders that haven't been fed in a couple months.
Greg Rice ah OK just wondering as I've ordered a green bottle blue as a first T nd it's only a spiderling nd really don't want to lose due to my own naivety nd different websites say different things so would rather get a experienced keepers advice

OK thank you
The first A. Chalcodes looks more like a mature female. The second is definitely mature.
write the name of this spider 17:38 (cant hear).
+sadrogue Ishnothele caudata
get linothele fallax or something from linothele. Webbing everything, very fast, hunger. You will not regret
haha 1738 sneaky
Finally got a Linothele, but not fallax. Got a L. megatheloides. Fallax is next.
Good. Ive got five LF. 5 of linothele fallax - male(s). so pity. they almost adult. and will die soon (~1 year maximum)
Do you trade T's ?
+MrCurtisass Quite often I'll do trades with my mature males for random slings.
Spder XD there really isn't much of the market and we are you too busy enough
dolphin
Sheep Gymnastics Close! These are actually tarantulas.
Greg Rice Just joking
why are they in such small containers that's not really fair wouldn't you be bored living in a cup
conor packapunch I'm not a spider, so it's like comparing silly string to a rock on the bottom of the ocean. There's no correlation. Spiders don't need a lot of room. Their housing is adequate. ok i guess your right..
you know more about that then i do.
Was hastu feurspinen
nice vids but you talk softly, cant hear you..
why are you giving decent sized tarantulas such small dubias? Not much of a meal. They could easy handle a medium to large dubia without problem.
Warcraft1989 Because they're fat.
Greg Rice true, lol wouldn't want them getting obese which actually is a real tarantula problem
Your fault they are fat then!
Warcraft1989 Nah man, they are fat now but not obese. Obese is when the tarantulas start slowing down and get sick. His are just chunky n' healthy ^_^
1:06 Guess thats a sling. How do u know its a male? :/
+Fabian del Rosario Baldur These guys can be reliably sexed starting around 3/4" with a molt.
Go chek dark dens vids iets much better
