    Beautiful bike! Great build with nice components. The yellow KORE stem is classic high end GT Back in that era, custom components were a big thing. I still ride a ‘93 Zaskar love to see this level of appreciation. Ace build, dude!

      Thank you so much Tyler. I am rebuilding a set of new rims currently: (Ritchey Vantage Sport w/ White Industries Hubs). I'll get another video out for the new upgrades soon. Take care & ride safe. : )

    Nice job. Polished aluminum is my favorite "color" on the Zaskar.

    Nice job. My dream bike was a 1995 Trek 9800 Pro OCLV that I still ride today. No V Break but XTR through and through, SPD Pedals and Judy fork upgraded with Speed Springs.

      The Trek 9900 OCLV Pro Issue 1995 was a head turner. I remembered my friend had one. It feels out of this world when it was released. Extremely light and the subtle carbon textured details was amazing. The 1995 Trek 9800 Pro OCLV purple color one is beautiful.

      GT LTS-1000 DS that arching seat stay tube...that is a classic piece too. Another dream bike of mine was the 1994-95 GT TEAM LTS the one with the Fox Alps 4 rear-sus. Thank you for watching Igor. 👍🏼

    It was a nice job, but I would like to share a few ideas. If it were me, I would choose a higher series so that I could upgrade to v brake. Also, I think the rear derailleur outer cable was long. the longer the longer the more friction. Finally, hand tools are best, the park tool, but the big wrench you use with them can strip them.

      Nice!...I am hoping for a set of White Industry Hubs too, 517 Mavic rims, Panaracer Smoke/Dart tyres. The 1995 Answer Manitou 4 / Magnum / EFC DH Forks are beautiful too. Thank you for watching Legodad. : ) 👍🏼

    • @divisionbreak

      Indeed 👍🏼... I am changing new rim tapes for both rims right now. My inner tubes started to blow from the inside on separate occasion. I suspect the spokes that are protruding and the deteriorated old rim tapes are adding some pressure to the tubes causing them to puncture. I got these: www.aliexpress.com/item/1005005444716181.html?spm=a2g0o.order_list.order_list_main.5.6e5e1802cZizYy

    Very nice👍👍👍. I would have kept the Sugino crank - they are of the highest quality and polish up nicely - I just prefer the silver to the black - but that's just my opinion. Please never hammer the headset in - you can make a tool using a piece of threaded rod, some large washers and a couple of nuts and press them in. I would love to get my hands on a Zaskar to rebuild.

    • @divisionbreak
      @divisionbreak  Місяць тому

      Thank you John. Yes a silver crank like the XTR M900 would have been nice too. A blue set of KOOKA crankset or a CookBros I wouldn't mind too. I didn't like this flat profile look and feel of the Sugino Crank hence I changed it.

    Just a great video - I have a 1997 Zaskar in 18'', so this is quite similar. GT crossed the shift cables at the down tube, you seem to run them in parallel. Was this an active decision on your side? I think I'll do the same, and my YF007 shift guide has been cut by the shift cable. You're using a Shimano shift guide obviously. Thanks! Your Zaskar LE is a dream bike.

    • @divisionbreak
      @divisionbreak  17 днів тому

      Thank you so much Amerigo. You are really 👍🏼. I never thought anyone would take notice of that you are very attentive very detail. Yes I wasn't convinced crossing the cables. Everyone took it for granted and adopted that crossed cable fashion for their MTB. I dug back to look at how specifically the 1990s GT Zaskar LE photos and learned how they were done. And indeed they adopted the parallel route. Don't look at those newer rebuild in the recent years in google images. Find those GT Zaskar LE that was photographed back in the 1990s...especially those from the 1990's product catalog photoshoot PDF.

      @@divisionbreak I just double-checked on my mine. They are really crossed and this gives a very natural, harmonic curve for the cable sleeves. I'll have to install new shifter cables anyway, I'll see if I follow your path. Also, I'll have to open my Rock Shox Judy. Thanks for that video, too. Great work! Where are you located?

    • @divisionbreak
      @divisionbreak  17 днів тому

      Thank you Amerigo. Try your best to keep the cable hose horizontal for about 1.5cm - 2.5 cm from their adjusting barrel. I used this video for referencing. Around time stamp= 3:25 (ua-cam.com/video/Xg5MrDgLhHI/v-deo.html). I am over at (South East Asia) Singapore : )

    very nice bike, but why you did not assemble the complete bike first and rebuild after cleanig,greasing and polishing all the parts?

    • @divisionbreak
      @divisionbreak  3 дні тому +1

      Thank you so much Phil.
      Because what you are seeing there is the actual sequence of the parts availability from ebay mostly, then to parts arrival, parts cleaning, parts assemble to bike. Or new accessories from online shops ......which ever parts come first I will get them unbox and video record it in order. Hence while waiting for item to arrive.... I could be doing the wheels first or I could be cleaning the bike frame, could be greasing bottom bracket first......I wont know......so thats why the whole build there seem very random but it's the actual order of the build I took. And the whole process took nearly a year to complete....from hunting for parts online (subject to availability) , video recording, video editing. The GT Zaskar LE bike was purchased in June 2023.

      @@divisionbreak thanx for your very detailed answer, know i can understand your intention about the build. a few years ago i wanted to build my dreambike, a MARIN Eldridge Grade from 99, it took a year to find a frameset for my height 55/56 cm, so meanwhile i picked a nice Mavic SUP wheelset with Hügi 240‘s, XTR 950 RD and FD, Magura HS33 raceline brakeset, KORE stem and handlebar and so on…, after repainting the frame and rebuild the bike i was so happy that it turned so nice….but 2 weeks later a lousy thief broke into my workshop and had stolen this and 2 other bikes
      i was devastated because not only the money but all the planning, searching to keep all the parts and all the hours of work to make my dreambike happen..
      So always keep an eye on your Zaskar and enjoy your rides

    • @divisionbreak
      @divisionbreak  3 дні тому

      I feel you man Phil. It must have been really devastating to experience that. When I was a kid 9-10yrs old (1988) mom bought me a Taiwan made USD$400 White BMX bike so that I could cycle to a near-by neighbourhood for tuition. I locked the bike at a housing water pipes with a cheap china cable lock. When I returned to my bike after tuition...it was gone. I search frantically every corners...gone...devastated....lost. Never had any more bicycles then on....till 1995 GT Avalanche. Which other 2 bikes the thief stolen from your warehouse? Your set up for the MARIN looks awesome I love those bright yellow MAGURA too. Now I am wary for my bike, I try not to leave it out of sight when I am out riding. Thanks for the tip.

      I wish you all the best. Hopefully you will have a new bike some day to ride again. I actually have a 2nd video to present for the GT Zaskar LE later. I have finished up lacing a pair of Ritchey Vantage Sport rims to a set of White Industries Hubs. They were my dream Hubs back in the 90s which I couldn't afford back then. I am still searching for a pair (Blue) Salsa Titanium Quick Release. And hopefully some Ringle MOJO (Blue) Peace cantilever cable hanger. And hopefully a 26.8 Syncros titanium seat post. They are very hard to come by these days. : )
