Conclusion: The rebuild was great every bits & pieces, old & new parts falls nicely into place. The reason why spring was not used for the rebuild is simply because of weight. Very nice👍👍👍. I would have kept the Sugino crank - they are of the highest quality and polish up nicely - I just prefer the silver to the black - but that's just my opinion. Please never hammer the headset in - you can make a tool using a piece of threaded rod, some large washers and a couple of nuts and press them in. I would love to get my hands on a Zaskar to rebuild.

      Thank you John. Yes a silver crank like the XTR M900 would have been nice too. A blue set of KOOKA crankset or a CookBros I wouldn't mind too. I didn't like this flat profile look and feel of the Sugino Crank hence I changed it.

    Thanks for your video. I would like to know what brand and type of tape was used to wrap around the damper piston shaft before you placed the cone shaped end plate on the shaft. Thanks again.

    • @divisionbreak
      @divisionbreak 22 дні тому

      Hi Roy you mean the grey tape at 19:40. That's just a Japan: 6mm MT masking tape. I wrap a tape there was to let the (shaft end plate) sit more snug-fit (tighly) on to the shaft end. You can also use any ordinary tape too if you find your end plate sit loosely at the shaft end.

      Is it still stable at high speeds?

    • @divisionbreak
      @divisionbreak 23 дні тому

      The stability of the board depends on how tight or loose you adjust at the Kingpin Nut. You don't want to over-tighten to over stiffen the board. Neither you want it too loose as it will be wobbly. The set up there has a very well-balanced of stability.

    Thank you so much for this! I've just picked up a set from eBay and hope to return it to its former glory with a damn good clean. One question if I may - the set has the original power adapter (measured output at 16.66V DC) and, while the set sounds great, the blue LED is lit but *very* dim. Could that be caused by a problem with the power adapter, or perhaps a failed component on the circuit board? Thanks for any advice you can offer 🙏

    • @divisionbreak
      @divisionbreak 2 місяці тому

      You are welcome anytime touchstone64. Thank you for the kind words. And yes you are correct. Get yourself a new power adapter if the original one is what you will be using. Because they have been around for 2 decades. My blue LED started to get dimmer and dimmer, day by day, night by night till it just cut off sound/music all by itself but comes back alive when you hit the switch off/on again. I am living in South East Asia we use 3pins plug here same as UK. This is what I am powering now for my Soundstick II. www.aliexpress.com/item/1005004368708918.html?spm=a2g0o.order_list.order_list_main.434.51e718022tELro

    It was a nice job, but I would like to share a few ideas. If it were me, I would choose a higher series so that I could upgrade to v brake. Also, I think the rear derailleur outer cable was long. the longer the longer the more friction. Finally, hand tools are best, the park tool, but the big wrench you use with them can strip them.

      There can be many issues occured when you are removing any turntable's tone-arm itself. Not necessary the new V blocks causing the problems. There could be cables entanglement beneath the Arm Mounting Collar. Rewind your steps and pin-point the fault. My bet it is the cables below causing the restriction.

      Nope. The Tynee Ultra original set up is still better 7inches, 43°. If you swap to a 9.5 inch it is too wide you wont enjoy the ride. The ride will be stiff, too balance, too monotonous. On the contrary you want a board that is lively and controllable at your will.

      Hi Wils the RipTide pivot cups & Caliber II are the same formular WFB Urethane in 96a offer smooth turning. But I don't know what is Paris V3 dimension. Because earlier what I did was I removed the TYNEE OEM pivot cups & took it to a skateshop to compare the dimension with what the shop had there. And interestingly the Caliber II share the same dimension as the TYNEE Ultra OEM pivot cup. I didn't compare with the Paris V3. They don't have it.

      @@divisionbreak I see, that makes sense thank you! I actually ordered Paris V3 pivot cups intuitively, and noticed that they indeed sit more shallow in the truck because they are a bit shorter than the stock Tynee ones. Upon test riding, they felt a bit unstable as expected. So I think your spot measurement was on the money! I just ordered the caliber II/III ones you linked to try those instead.

Вы можете играть джаз Билла Эванса и наслаждаться им позже, вы можете играть электронику или вокал и при этом чувствовать себя удовлетворительно. Спасибо за просмотр и берегите себя :)

    • @divisionbreak
      @divisionbreak 6 місяців тому

      Very good. Reliable. Easy to clean, easy to swap wheels out whenever, whichever you like, easy to find 3rd party parts to upgrade or make replacements. The controls & board behaviour is good = natural/organic. Good & friendly support from the board company. And most importantly it brings a smile whenever you go for a ride...it's pure fun & joy. And the price tag for all Tynee boards is fair. Just go with the Belt-driven board you wont go wrong. : )

    • @divisionbreak
      @divisionbreak 7 місяців тому

      Disassemble the whole sub woofer. Check the 2 cables/connectors at the small white rectangle plate if they are loose with the male connectors. Check if there are any corrosion too. On & Off bass sound like a loose connection somewhere. Otherwise it could be the power suppply too. Check when you power on the adapter if the Blue LED remain stable. If it blinks or go on and off for no reason while playing. You might need to buy a new power adapter.

    • @divisionbreak
      @divisionbreak 7 місяців тому

      Nice. It's going to be a very nice build, just take your time grab some coffee and don't rush to the finish line. All Schumacher's vehicles instruction given there at the manual are very concise. You just need to prepare the right tools (Phillips screwdrivers, MIP Hex 1.5mm, 2.0mm, 2.5mm) Actually the box kit does come with the standard Allen hex keys tool. The tricky part is the spring clip for the servo. You can check that out from my earlier build video. Modifications? No I didn't do much modifications at all....The only thing I changed was the x4 Wheels /Tyres. They were from JCracing.

    I also recently purchased the SoundSticks 2 and would like to clean them. I'm just having trouble getting rid of the circular balls on the speakers themselves. They slide freely for the first millimeter, and then I can't get them loose and I'm afraid I'll break the connection. Is there something like a pin that you have to press to make it easier to loosen the connection?

      @@divisionbreak the edges of the speakers

    • @divisionbreak
      @divisionbreak 8 місяців тому

      You need to use a pen-knife and keep cutting/scrapping the plastic groove with some controlled force/strength. Eventually you will be able to pry open fully the whole cover. That is the only way to do interior cleaning/change new set of tweeters. Take your time and have patient for cut you will get there.

    • @divisionbreak
      @divisionbreak 8 місяців тому

      My advice is later when you are done with the cleaning or tweeters change. You dont need to get the acrylic glue to re-seal the cover. Just get some clear scotch tape or masking tape to tape up the covers will do. I am using the tape method now too because you can open up and do cleaning or fix the speakers when they pop out sometime when you drop/bump the speakers.
