I’d go with Funeralopolis for EW
@@jonlcfc1 Haha fair take. Drugula by Electric Wizard would be my take for that band, most excited to see Boris mentioned
Geezer wrote all the lyrics and Ozzy wrote all the vocal melodies. The band said they were amazed at how Ozzy could just hear a riff and immediately come up with a killer vocal melody. They said the very first thing he sang/hummed was almost always what they went with.
Btw, Zakk Wylde said the same thing about Ozzy. He said he's great at writing melodies and spotting good riffs & song ideas. He also comes up with some of the song titles & concepts.
This marathon can only end after a reaction to N.I.B
Children of the Grave!
With Embryo!!!
Children of the grave is a must guys!!!! Please!!!
CLUTCH "Big news 1&2", "Escape from the prison planet", "Spacegrass"
I think a little Clutch would be a logical next step in your stoner rock journey...
My buddy used to be their sound guy for when they were on tour, he said they were some really cool guys.
First time I heard Clutch is when they opened for Pantera in '96, I think. Lead came out in flannel and jeans.....I thought, "who the hell is this opening for Pantera?" Anyways, they freaking rocked it!
Clutch suck
YES. They did The Regulator, but Clutch has so much heavy, sludgy, stonery nastiness in their catalogue that would appeal to them so much more. They gotta dig into Clutch a little more fo sho
Yep! Children of the Grave! It would be a shame not to review that sumbitch! That and Sy.ptom of the Universe, both the studio versions.
Some good stoner rock & metal:
Monster Magnet - Negasonic Teenage Warhead
Electric Wizard - Funeralopolis
Kyuss - Whitewater
Uncle Acid & The Deadbeats - Death's Door
Witch - Seer
Uncle Acid and the Deadbeats first album is NASTY
Acid King - Red River
Yes, Uncle Acid indeed!
For the last one, I'd say you have to check out their biggest song that you haven't listened to: N.I.B. (everyone knows Iron Man and Paranoid, I'm sure you've heard those already).
The live vid from Paris 1970 is fantastic
I love how y'all hear such detail and subtleties in the music - really great stuff!
You kind of have to close it out with "NIB" "Children Of The Grave" and "Snoblind".
Yeah, no. They already did enough from the first four albums. Sabotage and Sabbath Bloody Sabbath is where it's at now.
why is no one recommending A National Acrobat to them? In my opinion it's their greatest song. So underappreciated.
SNOWBLIND is a must
@@mindwarr "the first four albums" aka four of the five best ones. Why end it on a low? 🤔
@@gustavodeharo There's nothing low about Sabotage or Sabbath Bloody Sabbath.
I think it would be interesting to see you do a head to head with Planet Caravan, the Black Sabbath version and the Pantera cover.
Children of the Grave!!! Symtom of the Universe!!! Either, or both, would wrap the Sabbathon perfectly.
Oh heck yeah!!!! "Sign of the Southern Cross" and "Sabbath Bloody Sabbath" by Black Sabbath please
@William Kahley You know what, William, I really like that song too. Those two are the best with Dio. You got great taste. I think Country Girl is better than Heaven and Hell. TBH I never really cared for Heaven and Hell I always thought it was a bit bland imo.
When I got into Sabbath as a teenager, they were the uncoolest band on the planet. Now, there's a huge mural of the four of them in Birmingham and there's even a permanent council-maintained 'Black Sabbath bridge' with a bench. How times have changed! As the years have gone by, Sabbath is now just naturally liked music by everyone.
