Thanks again Ryan and George, you guys rock :)
I haven’t seen a reaction to ‘Sabbath, Bloody Sabbath’ and, I believe George just said you haven’t done it. That is the epitome of a Sabbath song - the main riff, the drums, the bass and Ozzy! One of the best metal songs ever and such heaviness at the end! Don’t stop short of at least that one!

According to Iommi, the Sabotage sessions were the scene of a legendary jam session between Black Sabbath and Led Zeppelin.[4] Iommi's recollection may be inaccurate, however, as records show that Zeppelin were on tour in the US at the time Sabotage was being recorded. Ward's recollection of the exact timing of the Zeppelin jam session is also fuzzy. "I don't even know what album we were working on", the drummer explained. "But one of John (Bonham)'s favourite songs was 'Supernaut' - so, when they came down to the studio, he wanted to jam 'Supernaut'."[5]
Tony Bologna mine as well 💙 I remember the first time I heard this song, I bought the album, went home & put it on my turntable, put on my headphones and I don’t think I moved for like 3 hours 🥰 I was blown away! That entire album is a masterpiece 🎸
Whenever a guitarist strikes a killer riff, Ryan kinda sing along with it while playing his air guitar. Whenever the drummer do a good fill or little solo, George open up a smile. I see you guys soon becoming musicians.
When I was young, 13/14 I was all about the hip hop. Snoop (doggy style), Dre (The Chronic), NWA, Bone Thugs, Wu Tang, the list goes on. Then about 14ish I "found" Sabbath and it blew me away. So I totally get where you guys are coming from when you're talking about similar feeling of the music. From then on I was totally hooked and Sabbath lead the way for my tastes that followed. Metallica, Alice in Chains, Tool, Nirvana etc.. but I still hold a very soft spot for hip hop. Wu Tangs 36 Chambers will always be one of my favourite album's!. Love you guys, keep rocking 🤘❤️
A huge X2 on the 36 chambers.. from a fellow metalhead/Rock guy. That 36 chambers album is almost 30 yrs old now and still sounds fresh, llike early Sabbath and Metallica do as well.
Dude same here, first on the hip hop/rap wave with wu tang and others. Found sabbath and it opened me up to everything. But I’ll always have a soft spot for that stuff.
Joe Yuzwidk if you're on patreon, but they just did Dragonaut a few days ago on Patreon and they did not like it at all lol, Ryan in particular actually hated it, George just didn't care for it much.
"Sabbath bloody sabbath" is a brilliant album. has some of my favourite songs of all music, "sabbath bloody sabbath" and "fluff" give a good glimpse of the rest of the album. You might be totally surprised of the versatility on that album if you listen to it. "paranoid", "sabbath bloody sabbath", "black sabbath", "sabotage" would be my fauvourite black sabbath albums. in that order, with the same 4 members.
This is probably my favorite Sabbath album. Doesn’t get talked about enough. It really takes you on a journey in the same way that Pink Floyd does, albeit in a different style.
It's 100% my favorite Sabbath record. So many killer gems on this one: Megalomania, Thrill of it All, The Writ... it's gold from start to finish. Sabbath Bloody Sabbath is up there for me too
Black Sabbath just finished their final tour about 3 years ago. They did an amazing final concert though, Ozzy's voice isn't completely there, and they had a different drummer that was more traditional heavy metal sounding and more straightforward than Bill Wards drumming. But the meat, Tony Iommis riffs and Geezer Butler's bass lines were better than ever. I'm sad I never got to see Sabbath live and never will 😢
I had the privilege of seeing the original lineup play at Jones Beach back in '04. My GF got sick halfway through and demanded to be driven home..... during NIB. I was disappointed, but figured I'd see them again, some day. Black Sabbath never did Ozzfest, again and by 2013, I was having a bad year, work wise, so I never got the chance.
@@peace__777 Saw 'em just before that when they played Ozzfest around 2000. So good. And they played Symptom (sans the part Ryan wants to loop, which they generally didn't play live).
Tyrone Mackay I saw them on the 13 tour and twice on The End tour, and it was the drumming that really stood out, it just lacked Bill Ward’s swing, didn’t have the same groove.
Sepultura did an awesome cover of this song, definitely did the song justice Love that Black Sabbath all day though! Jump in the Fire Creeping Death Disposable Heroes/Leper Messiah Harvester of Sorrow/...And Justice For All The Unforgiven/Wherever I May Roam Bleeding Me/Outlaw Torn/Fuel/Devil's Dance All Nightmare Long/The Day That Never Comes
The acoustic transition at the end is such a masterpiece bro🔥 Sabbath has really solidified themselves as my favorite band of all time as of pretty recently. They just pull such intense varieties of emotion from you as a listener. I feel this way and I only know of their first 6 albums lol
Once i saw a old t shirt that said "You can only trust yourself and the first six Black Sabbath albums", nothing more true! Thanks for this reaction boys!
You fellas need to hear "The Writ" from this album. It doesn't mess around when it comes to a smoothness as well as working with Ozzy's voice. The transitions are also crazy as hell. Seriously need to consider it.
I've been screaming for The Writ of Thrill of it All. ..... Won't you help me Mr. Jesus, won't you tell me if you can? When you see this world we live in do you still believe in man? ..... Beast....of a song
Yes, The Writ is an underrated song! I love the way both the music & the lyrics start with such vitriol & anger, then evolves to end up in a peaceful and upbeat place. It is just the catharsis the band needed at the time, and I always feel unburdened when I get to the end of it.
I love that song along with the thrill of it all. You can feel his voice, and the lyrics in your bones. The Writ was meant to be the centerpiece of the album. The Thrill Of It All: Inclination of direction, walk the turned and twisted rift With the children of creation futuristic dreams we sift Clutching violently we whisper with a liquefying cry Any deadly final answers that are surely doomed to die Won't you help me Mr. Jesus, won't you tell me if you can? When you see this world we live in, do you still believe in man? If my songs become my freedom, and my freedom turns to gold Then I'll ask the final question, if the answer could be sold.

Pantera-Thon would be sick. Those earlier years (cowboys from hell/vulgar) have some downright amazing tracks that I guarantee you have not heard or have been requested
They shut down the possibility of reacting to anything from Pantera after listening to Five Minutes Alone, which is understandable. They probably don't like listening to people who openly believe in White supremacy and are confederate supporters, and it's really sensible.
Don't Let Her Speak I absolutely love Pantera to death but Phil is a jackass he keeps saying he’s not a white supremacist but he keeps doing white supremacist stuff. I support their decision to not listen to Pantera, just like I don’t support Michael Jackson
I feel like punk is pretty underrepresented on your channel, and a marathon would be a fun way to address that. Even just focusing on the classics like The Clash, Ramones, Stooges, Sex Pistols, etc. would offer a lot of material, then there'd be the 80s hardcore scene, the rise of pop-punk in the 90s, all the different subgenres that got big in the 00s....
'Stone Cold Crazy' by Queen is a thrash-like song from 1973, though Symptom of the Universe does sound more like thrash metal to me, hearing it for the first time (or second? Sounds familiar).
The other two comments you hear in the metal community are: " It all leads back to Black Sabbath" "Listen to Black Sabbath!" They just retired a few years back. There is a shit ton of Black Sabbath live from different eras/ decade's/ singers/ on drugs etc. I second the Metallica marathon! The caviott is you need to start with Kill'em All then go chronologically.

This song came to the bass player (Geezer Butler) in a dream. When he woke he said that he grabbed a pen and pad and wrote down the lyrics and music and showed it to the other guys. Crazy ....
This album was recorded at a time when Black Sabbath was being sued by their former management, which is why there are a lot of heavy and angry songs. It tells of the frustration that the band was feeling during the whole situation and even the the title, Sabotage, is a reference to this legal battle. Don Arden was the bands manager during this period and he was basically the gangster of music managers. He was also the father of Sharon Osbourne who met Ozzy for the first time when the band was considering Arden as the new manager.
Ozzy is wild and at the top of his game in the verses and it fits perfectly, it's all about how the hard and soft parts come together. Dynamics. Light and shade.

As great as Black Sabbath is, I really feel they are extremely underrated when it comes to music overall. IMO I feel they should be mentioned in the same conversation with LED zeppelin and the Beatles.
Damn straight.
Totally agree mate, in fact it's the UA-cam reactors who are finally bringing them their due.
They created a genre. At the time there was nothing with this sound, as in their first album.

Hey guys, I just wanted to say that this Sabbath marathon has probably been the best thing during this whole quarantine business. I can't thank you enough for bringing me joy during these hard times. Sabbath is my all time favorite band and I really feel like you guys treated them with the respect and love that they deserve :)
Now stop this bs, move on to another band and give them a full listen haha!

True
It's a damn shame the production on that album is terrible
Yeah but then others want "just one more: Children of the Grave!" I think they can come back to these, it's time for something different now
Amen!
This is what I’ve been saying
Alice in chains, Pantera or 80s Metallica Marathon!!
i can get behind Pantera and 80s Metallica, but not an Alice In Chains fan
Theyve reacted to most AiC classics like Rooster, Man in the Box, Them Bones, Would....
They'll never react to Pantera again probably after realizing they where white supremacists, and I don't blame them.
Supertaldo916 They weren’t white supremesists. Where did you get your information? There were some false rumors about Phil Anselmo at one point, but they turned out to be absolutely wrong. Don’t be posting shit like that unless you have facts to back it up.
Supertaldo916 Your wrong. Even the lyrics are anti racist. Just because there’s a white guy with a shaved head being aggressive doesn’t mean he’s racist.

Dirt album review

For me, Black Sabbath is the greatest band of all time! Think for a second, these guys created heavy metal, thrash metal and doom metal. It's amazing!
All of that while simultaneously being the best rock band on the planet. Consistently innovating their sound.

If only every girl could pick up metal music and fall in love with it too.
Dragonaut by sleep has such a great groove to it. You’d love it. One of the greatest riffs ever
Sounds a lot like Lord of this World.
Joe Yuzwidk if you're on patreon, but they just did Dragonaut a few days ago on Patreon and they did not like it at all lol, Ryan in particular actually hated it, George just didn't care for it much.
Sepultura does a great cover of this song. They take it to a more extremely thrashy level.
I was going to suggest that too! 🤘🏻

Best album.
Sabbath Bloody Sabbath is definitely their best album, I don't care what anyone says.
This is probably my favorite Sabbath album. Doesn’t get talked about enough. It really takes you on a journey in the same way that Pink Floyd does, albeit in a different style.
so true. I get what you mean. they have the same kind of depth and subtle complexity as Floyd. It is just a completely different style.
I was at the final show in San Antonio with my dad, I was I think 13. Absolutely killer, show had me crying at the end.
Got to see a ozzy Black sabbath double set at ozzfest 97 in Dallas Texas. It was amazing. Pantera was there also Will never forget that show

Ozzy’s voice in this song is exactly how it should be. It’s kind of a raw “thrashy” type song.

The Thrill Of It All:
Inclination of direction, walk the turned and twisted rift
With the children of creation futuristic dreams we sift
Clutching violently we whisper with a liquefying cry
Any deadly final answers that are surely doomed to die
Won't you help me Mr. Jesus, won't you tell me if you can?
When you see this world we live in, do you still believe in man?
If my songs become my freedom, and my freedom turns to gold
Then I'll ask the final question, if the answer could be sold.
+1 for The Writ.
There's a strong argument for this being the genesis of thrash right here.

Children of the Grave, the song that murdered the hippie generation in one swing.
I also want them to react to Children, but how did it murder the hippie generation? If anything, the lyrics are pro-hippie
@@cloneboy42 It is a very hippy song indeed, I believe too, I think he meant that Black Sabbath had put a more dark & doom perspective in the whole "flowerish" scenery of the Era... It was more like "C'mon guys wake up, bloody do something".

That song is beyond good
@@cloneboy42 Children of the Grave captures early Sabbath's ethos better than any other. They agreed with the hippies' goals, but not their methods. The wanted the hippies to get angry at what was wrong with the world. Love wasn't going to fix anything if it wasn't backed by action.

Your insights and observations are really putting into words for me some of my favorite aspects of Black Sabbath. One of the greatest bands of all time- thanks for the fantastic review!
They probably don't like listening to people who openly believe in White supremacy and are confederate supporters, and it's really sensible.
they cucked on pantera, apparently phil not hating himself and his people enough was too much.

"Airdance" and "Spiral Architect" Then you will have heard the full spectrum of Sabbath's repertoire.
In the last section of Airdance, you can hear the jazz background of the guys really come to the front.
