I still maintain that this is one of the heaviest songs ever written. It's basically the proto-type for everything that came later in metal. Pummeling riffs, drop C tuning, break downs mid song, it has everything.

Thank you guys for doing these videos & being open minded to music that may be out of your normal realm. You guys are awesome!
*Into the Void was written during the Apollo moon landings in the early 70's, when the government was sometimes criticized for spending so much on NASA when so many people were dying from hunger and disease, and in wars such as in Vietnam...*
I've just discovered you two guys but I love you already. Seeing your reactions. Imagine how it sounded to us, then, as 13/14-year-olds first hearing it in the early '70s when it was truly revolutionary.
Hey guys, THAT SONG is what got me hooked on Black Sabbath which in turn influenced the rest of my life. I was just starting to play guitar at the time and from that moment forward, my playing, my interests and my life took a different path. I was supposed to be in Vegas this week at a conference and I would have absolutely loved to have been sitting between the two of you while you were hearing it for the first time. Two more songs for you to review are Killing Yourself to Live and Symptom of the Universe... then Hand of Doom. Thanks for making my morning...
This song made me pick up a guitar and changed my mind. I’ve lost count of the amount of bands I got into that had the Sabbath influence and even this song
When Ryan and George talk about wanting to pick up a guitar or the drums and learn I'm screaming at the screen like "YES! THATS HOW WE GOT HERE." Sooo many artists and bands started because they picked up a guitar hearing these old bands. Trust me lost in Vegas, you guys should pick up an instrument and go with it. You guys could legit be great like the greats who were inspired by the same people you were. Ride that feeling
George was talking about how this reminded him of a lot of other stuff and that's because Black Sabbath are the prime inspiration of many forms of metal, but specifically doom metal, sludge metal, and stoner metal
With Ozzy - Symptom of the Universe, Sabbath bloody Sabbath, Sweet Leaf With Dio - Sign of the Southern Cross, Children of the Sea, Lady Evil, Turn up the night
I would like them to do symptom of the universe by black Sabbath and the cover of symptom of the universe by Sepultura, and do a comparison, because they are both equally as good
Wheels of Confusion is probably their most... (trying to think of a way of describing it).. consciousness altering track maybe? It is for me. Something about it.

Eric Winslow I feel like whenever someone says that a certain musician is underrated, somebody will always take it as an insult to the musician. Which is not at all the point being made. Weird.
@@P-Dub206 I wasn't taking it as an insult to the musician as much as I was pointing out that people throw the word underrated around and use it where it doesn't belong.
Heres a bunch of sabbath tunes you need to hear: the wizard, children of the grave, supernaut, hole in the sky, a national acrobat, under the sun, Sabbra Cadabbra, snowblind.
That's a great selection, all of them A plus tunes.
Hell yeah, Children of The Grave! Do it.
and Sweet Leaf
@@jeffs7581 I like sweet leaf
There's like 20 amazing riffs in this song. My favorite song of all time.
Sweet Leaf
A National Acrobat
Lord of this World
N.I.B.
Sweet Leaf is SO underrated. One of my faves
The writ , megalomania thrill of it all
It has to be orchid and lord of this world together
It has to be fluff and Sabbra cadabra together
More Sabbath please!
Suggestions:
Lord of this world
The writ
Spiral architect
Hand of doom
Electric funeral
Too many great ones ;)
Symptom of the Universe!
Symptom of the universe!!
Snowblind is a solid one too.
The Wizard
"Black Sabbath.... because we just like Black Sabbath" Yes, my dude!
This song alone defined what would be doom metal. In a way, for me this is the heaviest song of all time. Oh, that riff!
A bit of an under statement
everyone who reacts to sabbath ends up becoming a legit fan
no truer words were ever spoken. 1st view, Black and Blue tour, Chicago, 1980. No words for that tour.
Me
As it should be.
You can't REALLY listen to sabbath and not be a fan regardless of what you listen to
I first listened to them back when I was 13……..best day of my life, I was soooo mesmerized by their music that I couldn’t stop playing master of reality all day….later I forgot ‘em for like 12 years, and now thanks to PANTERA I went back to them! Best metal band ever!!
Black Sabbath:
Lord of this World
Snowblind
Under the sun
Please do:
Children of the Grave - goes hard.
Symptom of the Universe - ozzy's best vocals and proto thrash
YEAS!!!!
That clean breakdown toward the end of the song is next level. Vocals off the rails.
@@JEppsLars i just love how you can chart ozzy's progress as a singer throughout their whole discography. He starts an interesting but sometimes cringy vocalist, and by that album he's absolutely awesome, destined for a successful solo career. Love that breakdown at the end of symptom
Excellent suggestions.
@@henrybaldwin9335 I totally agree.
I'm almost 60 years old and have been listening to this for nearly 50 years. Still one of my all time sabbath favorites. Master of reality is my top sabbath lp. Yes I said lp. I have the original vinyl album. I think it's Black Sabbath's heaviest offering. Not a bad song on the whole sha-bang.
I loaned this album to some Jehovahs Witnesses to take to their temple as I'd explained to them that Ozzy is not evil,he was playing the Devils Advocate....they brought it back undamaged & thanked me,they understand the process of devils advocate so gained a better understanding of Ozzy & metal in general....still I imagine it's not played often at the temple lol
You need to hear "Symptom of the Universe". One of their heaviest and most ambitious songs
Black Sabbath - "Children of the grave" goes hard.
I second this!
I still maintain that this is one of the heaviest songs ever written. It's basically the proto-type for everything that came later in metal. Pummeling riffs, drop C tuning, break downs mid song, it has everything.
with full Embryo intro!!!
why havent u guys revisited Pantera?
classicccccccc
Black Sabbath - Wheels of Confusion, Snow blind, Spiral Architect
National acrobat
I love snow blind
They'd like supernaut
Under the Sun
Wicked World
U guys are awesome. Im the drummer of a Sabbath Tribute here in Venezuela. I love your reactions. Ive been reactin like that for the past 35 years. Much luv n respect. You ALWAYS cheer me up. The essence. Funny how Ozzy was screaming to the world a reality that it is NOW. 2022. HUMANS ARE LEAVING THE EARTH for the past 50 years!!!!!!
You might like "Sweet Leaf" from the same album. Classic, heavy, groovy, and the stoner national anthem :)
There's an old saying/joke that goes "When you want to write the heaviest riff ever then remember Black Sabbath wrote Into The Void."
I think the riff from Sign Of The Southern Cross is the heaviest riff they ever did. Tony Iommi is the riffmaster...
@@brudog1970 Try the highly underrated 'shadow of the wind'.
I think the heaviest riff is from Follow the tears, also from Iommi
@@_kcy033 You have to at the very least give an honorable mention to the riffs in Sabbath Bloody Sabbath!
Seriously guys you need to listen to the track "Black Sabbath" off the 1st album
Definitely
Yes!
That was the "metal is born" song
Yes for sure that song is terrifying!
They haven't? WTF
This album came out in the summer of 1971. Punk wouldn't start until around 1976. Shows you how ahead of the curve Sabbath were in the early '70's.
Hello guys from Italy, hard times. Love you, keep this way! Black Sabbath 🤟🏿
-If you wanna hear Ozzy on vocals:
Supernaut,
Sabbra Cadabra,
N.I.B,
Killing Yourself to Live,
Snowblind
-If you wanna hear Dio on vocals:
Lonely Is the World,
Lady Evil,
The Mob Rules,
Heaven and Hell (*you guys already did this song),
Children of The Sea
Ozzy on vocals: Heaven and hell rofl x)
Heaven and Hell has been done
@@t.hussain921 Ah! Thank you, gonna edit comment.
Dio did Heaven and Hell :D
UP UP UP UP
Ryan, George: You must react to "Black Sabbath", the first song on their debut, eponymous album. A genre-defying masterpiece for free thinkers!🤘
I could honestly see one or both of them not liking it as much, with as slow and plodding as the song starts. But it's absolutely a classic and MUST listen. 2 of the most classic riffs ever played.
Recorded in 1969...think about how heavy that was
That main riff is so filthy, it's like musical swearing.
Makes me sweat Holy Shiiiiite yah
Alice in Chains took much from Black Sabbath
Please listen to Sabbath bloody sabbath, that song is a masterpiece
“Children Of The Grave” by Black Sabbath. Coronavirus Approved!
this song is about leaving the planet, quite fitting lol
But it mainly kills older people
@@kaydgaming it's not that deep
SABBAAAAAAAATH
Master Of Reality is arguably their heaviest album, and one of my favorites. You guys need to check out Children Of The Grave, which is my favorite riff and song that they've ever written.
Their heaviest album technically is Dehumanizer but this is the heaviest of the Ozzy era for sure.
Sabotage is heavier
Volume 4 seems pretty heavy to me!
This is my all time favorite Sabbath song. And that is saying a lot! I got into hard rock very young.. like 7 or 8. I'm 53 now. And I remember the feeling my 1st time I heard this song. It was like "something wicked, this way comes" & I couldn't turn away! The darkness, the tone, the groove... all of it.. and yall's reaction just hit home to me... Thank you guys for doing these videos & being open minded to music that may be out of your normal realm. You guys are awesome!
No-one can mind you guys doing more Black Sabbath. Next one: "A National Acrobat".
I salute you from Italy 🇮🇹
Black Sabbath are the best !!!
@Spiral Architect Thank you
God bless you all x
Stay safe! ❤️❤️❤️
I can't wait to hear the tide has turned in Italy. as ozzy would say, god bless you all
@@williamskellyl1 absolutely
Black Sabbath - The Writ. One of their darkest, most haunting songs.
Probably the angriest medal song ever. A classic!
Can anyone write riffs like Iommi? No. He is the MASTER.
Sweat Leaf, Children of the Grave, After Forever, pretty much this whole album, is a Sabbath classic.
Black Sabbath - Children of the Grave, or the Mob Rules.
I totally would have gotten into it if a sub who loves the band was there banging heads with them
This song made me pick up a guitar and changed my mind. I’ve lost count of the amount of bands I got into that had the Sabbath influence and even this song
When Ryan and George talk about wanting to pick up a guitar or the drums and learn I'm screaming at the screen like "YES! THATS HOW WE GOT HERE."
Sooo many artists and bands started because they picked up a guitar hearing these old bands. Trust me lost in Vegas, you guys should pick up an instrument and go with it. You guys could legit be great like the greats who were inspired by the same people you were. Ride that feeling
The Wizard!!
those riffs! and that.... harmonica? yes, you heard me right, the harmonica!
DO IT
+1
Indeed.
YES!!!
Perfect suggestion! That is a great song!
Did my guy just say “a little bit of doom in this” as in doom metal? I’m so proud of y’all lmao
Black Sabbath ALWAYS delivers!!! Thank you, Gentlemen !!
The whole master of reality album no bad song on this album.
Correct
So groundbreaking, this song's riffing was trash metal before trash even existed
Geezer Butler lays down some of the nastiest bass ever recorded!...gotta love it...
Not to mention, lyrics
As a bassist myself....NASSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSTY. 🥰😎
George was talking about how this reminded him of a lot of other stuff and that's because Black Sabbath are the prime inspiration of many forms of metal, but specifically doom metal, sludge metal, and stoner metal
Which coincidentally are three of my favorite metal genres
Take Note: Tony Iommi lost the tips of his fingers on both his middle and ring finger. A riff GOD.
The word you seeking on "the guitar distortion is..." ....is HEAVY. Black Sabbath is the foundation of Heavy Sound.
Electric Wizard - Funeralopolis
Cult Of Luna - Nightwalkers
Agalloch - Not Unlike The Waves
Mike Biggums nah, cult of luna - genesis
Cult of Luna are great. Not sure if that's the best starter song, or if these guys would like it. But I'd be down to find out.
Uhh, Agalloch, yeah! Any of the first 5 songs from Ashes!
Mike Biggums electric wizard - return trip
man how are they gonna react to anything by agalloch lol
One of the best and heaviest metal riffs I’ve ever heard, period.
This album is the undisputed first and perhaps greatest stoner rock album of all time. Often copied , never equaled, impossible to duplicate.
With Ozzy - Symptom of the Universe, Sabbath bloody Sabbath, Sweet Leaf
With Dio - Sign of the Southern Cross, Children of the Sea, Lady Evil, Turn up the night
They would love lady evil.
Neon Knights.
I would like them to do symptom of the universe by black Sabbath and the cover of symptom of the universe by Sepultura, and do a comparison, because they are both equally as good
Never stop doing Black Sabbath, I'm sure you'll like "Wheels of confusion".
I only say: 50 years of success... no band can beat that...
That and or Symptom of the Universe
@@paulsherwood5463 Awesome riff
...gonn listen to it right now. :)
Wheels of Confusion is probably their most... (trying to think of a way of describing it).. consciousness altering track maybe? It is for me. Something about it.
Vol 4 is a masterpiece.
"Killing yourself to live" is also a very great Sabbath song.
I think its safe to say that Black Sabbath influenced a lot of bands moving into the 70's and 80's.
It’s almost like they basically created a music genre
They single handedly invented metal.
