  • In this video I demonstrate how you can use a senior circle to ensure you have perfect 180 degree separation between your marks while creating your decorative wraps. This will help ensure you have a straight center line when your wrap is finished.

Such a sick wrap. I think it would look great with a metallic blue or grey underwrap

Regarding the "Senior Circle". The measurements you speak of can be determined a couple of other ways. Dividers can be used to divide up the circumference (we use those in woodworking to make dovetails) or one can use the diameter multiplied by Pi (3.14). This will work with millimeters or inches (or thousandths of an inch). Many people already have a measuring tool such as a caliper to determine diameter, then use the formula Circumference = 3.14 x diameter to find the distance. Then measure that out on a piece of tape and stick it around the black. One could mark off half (180 degrees) or quarters (90 degrees) or whatever one wants without having to buy that template and waiting for it to arrive in the mail. Easy.

Yes, you are 100% correct Dave, and I use calipers as well. The template is not designed to give you the spacing, but it does help you make sure your marks around the blank are at 90 degrees if that is something someone needs help with….like me.

You most definitely can if you like, but I didn’t since this is a wooden dowel.

It's a drughting circle template but if you are creative you can apply it to different uses just like any other tool or material made for a specific purpose.
There is no limit to ingenious creativity and real world application.

You are correct that it can be applied to different uses, but it is also known as a senior circle template. Thank you for watching and commenting.

3 to 5 is good in general but when I am wrapping tight (guides for example), I pack more often.

@@timmoss7553 - I do as well. I feel like when wrapping guides they need to be tighter, and a little looser for decorative wraps. Thanks again for watching and commenting. Appreciate the support.
