i live in Olalla near Gig Harbor. Just fixing the rods I built in the 70s. Fun to get back into it with your videos. Prob just hang them on the wall but had some guides to replace. I built a rod rapping jig back then too. Took a class from an old guy in Lakewood back then. Im 68 now and only work a day a week or less. Lots of hobbies to catch up on. Thanks for the great videos
Thank you for this video. I greatly appreciate it. I build inshore rods mostly geared towards wading the Tx coastal flats and marshes. 6'2" to 7' light weight and high performance with Titanium everything is the trend so it doesnt leave room for added decoration. Hence the abalone under my 3.5" decap should help doll up the rods.
You are very welcome David and let me k ow if you have any questions. Also, if you are interested in learning about the thread types, sizes, and guide wraps, you should check out this ebook I wrote: reelbluecustomrods.com/product/guide-wraps-ebook/
John I know this video is a little older now. Have you tried the new CRB decal roller for putting down the abalone sheets? It has rubber wheels so it may not leave any marks?

That is a great question and/or idea, but I have not. Have you?
