OSMARI, who has struggled with weight since childhood, has managed to lose over 100lbs in two years - and find a confidence she never had before. Osmari, from Miami, started gaining weight when she was a young child and at her heaviest was over 290lbs, facing Type 2 Diabetes. Osmari told Truly: “I’m extremely proud of myself - you can literally do anything you set your mind to.” Osmari’s initial weight gain stemmed from a deeply traumatic childhood experience, which resulted in her overeating: “I never realised that my childhood trauma was directly linked to my weight," she said.

Trauma had a direct relationship to my weight gain. I used it as a way of hiding. I learned being pretty was dangerous! People want to touch you and use your body if you are too attractive. Strength training was so helpful. Good luck everyone ❤🎉 NEVER GIVE UP! Don’t be a prisoner in your body!
Osmari looks incredible. I’m so glad that she mentioned how childhood trauma impacts a person’s weight. Those who experienced trauma are twice as likely to become addicted to food or abuse food than those who did not. Studies show that about 6 million people who are obese or morbidly obese have experienced significant trauma in their life. This is a piece that needs to be looked at when treating obesity.

When I was small i had a grandma who was plus size. I loved how soft she was. I always wanted to be big, but we were worked so hard as children, and we never had enough to eat. I was always hungry. When I got on my own I finally got to eat what I could afford to buy. I got to a size 20 in the US. I loved feeling invisible. I got down to a size 2 naturally. I feel much better, but I worry I will want to get big again because I hate the attention from men. It is so uncomfortable. I hate their looks. I wish I was big because of that, but I don't want to be unhealthy and feel like I did before. It was so much harder to do everything.

I think she looks great even with the loose skin, but if she feels like she needs it removed for herself I can understand that. My opinion doesn't really matter but I don't think she needs it removed because she already looks so good

One thing that can help with the loose skin is Vicks vapor rub and some Saran wrap... Wrap that skin up and do ur normal everyday life and watch the skin shrink and the sweat fall esp when you do ur normal workout routine!!! I'm a witness and after having my last child recently I've gotten in my head again and started to see that I need to get my workout life back! Mind u before I found out I was preggo, I was losing some weight because I was trying to start my journey again .. lol needless to say now, that my whole mid section screams "yes to bread", and other Carby starchy food that I just can't seem to stop eating..... And I'm finally healing enough from a ruptured uterus and c section scar that I can start my light walks ... I can't wait u til I can get to the part where I can go hard or go home and really start feeling good again! Ur story inspired me and tysm for this whoever u r and wherever you may be, blessings to you and congrats on your new journey of the grand introduction of this new version of you! Keep going and keep motivating ppl!!!! It's working! 😇
