Best vid yet, Susie! It's clear you're feeling comfortable and enjoying doing YT! I have been looking forward to Wednesday! :) This was really helpful. I've CO washed before but always left on dry hair for 1 minutes, as instructed by LHC, and rinsed. Always shed like a labrador in July! Gonna try this method tonight. Love the fiddles. The Glengarry Highland Games are next weekend so there will be fiddles and pipes galore! Hey...pipes...next vid? ;) I'd love to see you do more curly hair braids and styles. Have a grand night!

Curly Susie, you've helped me so, so much! I'm about 1 month in with the CGM and am still learning the ropes and trying to figure out which products work well on my hair... Though I seem to mostly be figuring out which ones don't. Your product reviews are so informative and your videos on technique have saved me. It's so crazy how hung up I can get on directions when they're written- like almost panicking while attempting to implement in the moment. It was so helpful to see the shower routine, especially how you rinse the conditioner and how you have your hair draping your face. I've been doing it all wrong which explains the awkward results I've been getting.
Thank you so much! Also, this has been my favorite video of yours yet and I've watched A LOT of them- not just for the information but also because you're so hilarious! You had me laughing out loud with your comments and faces! "Not home😳"
    Seriously hilarious 😆

    Hey Susie!!
I love all of your videos!! As a hair stylist of 17+ years, with fine, straight hair, I’ve always had an issue with my curly girls in my chair. Your tutorials have helped both me and my guests navigate the curly girl world. I have to say though, maybe it’s my age, maybe it’s the crazy New England humidity this summer, but my hair has been rocking some awesome waves thanks to your videos! I’m always open to ANYONE’S advice on anything I have no personal experience of. Professional or not. Because let’s be honest, not all hair is “one size fits all”.
    Keep up the good work!!
    Thanks for your lessons 😉

Great video, Susie. I've learned so much from you. My goal is to have wash and go hair like yours, although I'm more of a "Wavy". I live in South Florida so I fight humidity most of the year. Recently I came across some information about glycerin, which stated to avoid it in hair products if the dew point is below 40 or over 60. I’m wondering what your thoughts are on this. Thank you!

You are hilarious! Love your sense of humor and your videos are so helpful because they are easy to follow. I have been following your suggestions and my hair feels so much better. I have wavy hair with some corkscrew curlies near my face. I have been trying this routine for about a month now and notice that my hair is softer to the touch and less frizzy. I use Devacurl No Poo as my cleanser and use a cheap conditioner to wash my hair. I was using Devacurl gel but, recently switched to the Bioterra. I love the bioterra so much better as it is a lighter gel and doesn't weigh my hair down. Do you think the Devacurl supercream would work for my hair? I feel my hair is similar to yours but, maybe not quite as curly? A little more on the wavy side. Thanks so much!

if you're going to the beach or pool.. don't worry about perfect hair! anyone going in the water is going to have unpredictable hair! Mine always ends up frizzy. HOWEVER. I always brought my hair brush that helped tame my roots frizz down so I could put product there. But I only put product in AFTER I was done swimming for the day.. no point trying to act like barbie in the ocean or in pool water xd. I'd say a head scarf or hair band would work great. And try not to sit with your hair directly in the sun.. it may not be skin but it still gets damaged! So a hat or umbrella. Be safe this summer everyone! ♡

I just did my first ever co wash today and my hair already looks so much better. Sure, there's still some fine tuning to be done but I'm so impressed. I haven't been using heat or parabens and silicones in my hair for the longest time, the last thing to remove was sulfates and I think that's what was making my hair and scalp so dry ! Your videos have been really helpful and I really hope I can get curls as defined frizz-free as yours :D

  • @littleminna

It's been 16 weeks since I started transitioning, my hair is still not that curly. It's more waves with some straight hair in the back. I do have one big loose corkscrew in the front. Anyway I still haven't found a good alcohol free gel so far. What I like about the Biotera one you use is that it's a nice big bottle. Unfortunately they don't sell it here in the Netherlands. I wish I could get one that's not too expensive. I bought the Curl Keepers gel, the small bottle but it's nearly empty now...and what keeps me from buying a new one is the price. It is really expensive 60 euros for the bigger bottle! Anyway what I like to follow your videos because your hair looks more like mine, I watched many tutorials before staying with just following yours because I found the others hair type wasn't similar to mine. Anyway so your hair looks more like mine used to before I started straightening it all those years ago.

I have been following a routine very similar to yours for a week now. I am curious as to how your hair air drys without getting a gel cast. I would love to leave the house with my wet head to avoid diffusing, but I am getting a cast on it each time. I have been cowashing with Tresemme Botanique Nourish & Replenish and using the Biotera gel. Do you have any suggestions for me to try? Thanks for your help!

I hear LUSH still uses SLS... but... not sure if its in this product? It really nourishes my hair! A little bit goes a long way, and I use it when my hair is still damp... lush prices tho... :/

First of all the very beginning of this video made my day 🤣 you are so awesome !! I actually bought the curl smoothie a while and didn’t really go crazy for it till early last week. I really found it helped my hair with the heat ! I always do your method . It works well for me but I find my hair would sometimes be fluffy and not as defined ( I’m a 2c girl .. I think) but once I started with the smoothie recently I noticed a huge difference. I also tried this product called damage recovery . Tresemme . Expert. Same brand as the conditioner you use in this video . It’s a spray and as far as I know it’s curly girl approved. I came across this product when looking up info on 2c hair . So I do the exact routine you are showing here but at the end I spray my hair from middle to ends and scrunch . I really noticed it helps fight frizz and hold my curls ! Just wanted to share . Awesome videos as always Susie ❤️

Hi Susie! Love your channel (love Cape Breton!). I'm on my first week of CGM after 16+ years of straightening. Ugh! Nasty rats nest. I'm thinking of waiting until the Fall. We had 85%+ humidity today. I also wear a helmet (motorcycle) and at 44 years old, I got talked into playing softball this year! My question is this - between loose buns for work and the heat, under a helmet and whatever I create for softball - is there any point? I take my hair down and re-wet and scrunch when I get home - but I am just wasting my time right now? Thanks in advance for anyone with answers!

I generally put my products in one at a time. Just wondering about the benefits of mixing the cream and gel in your hands before you apply them?

My pool question was I go to water aerobics 5 days a week for two to three classes each day. I wet my hair this morning and added conditioner and oils (didn’t know about the heat and oil thing as the indoor pool is warm) and swam in between classes. When I got home i did my normal wash, condition and product routine. I go back tomorrow so if i do this too often I’m washing my color and curls too much.

Oil is wonderful to protect your hair from Chlorine. It’s more the light/heat from the sun, acts like a magnifying glass! You are good :)

You can also mix sun block and conditioner and put it on your hair before going out in the sun/swimming. I don't recommend telling the pool personal tho because they are liable to tell you to rinse it out before you get in the pool. As if a little bit of conditioner is going to make a difference after all the sunscreen that is slathered on all the bodies jumping in the pool!

So, you use oils? Also, do you deep condition? Maybe ideas for future videos if you haven't already covered that. I watch curly hair videos every.single.day. and you are by FAR my favorite! Keep doing what you do!

That is a huge compliment Nadine thank you. I do deep condition (there is a video) but I’ll have to do an oils video.
