    Thanks for the look! My reel broke on Friday. The lock that holds the handle outward on my Rapela rod snapped. The cheap bit of plastic was all that held it in its regular place. I patched it up using some tape, but gotta replace it (or the handle, if I can find one).

      They have another series (Carbon X instead of Carbon X II). They just sent me one of those as well. Basically exactly the same design, but a bit heavier. They are cheaper than the X II's.

    You put that bad boy through the ringer. Good review and test. I like their stuff. I have a alijoz 300 I use as a swimbait reel

    I have a couple of their baitcasters. No complaints and they've both been put through the wringer. Wouldn't hesitate to buy another Piscifun

    Great review Sean! I've been very interested in the Carbon X and X2 myself, and I'm sure I'll pick one up sooner or later. Nice Northerns to break it in!😎🎣

    Thanks for the review! btw: it looks like - according to the datasheets - the 2000 model is 7.2oz not 5.5oz.

      @AnglingSpiders  19 днів тому

      @@iDoPew Thanks. You might be looking at the weight of the Carbon X 2000. This is the Carbon X II. Should be 5.5 oz

      @@AnglingSpiders Not sure where you get that info from.
      Official store page of the x ii lists : [1000 -> 5.5oz] [2000 -> 7.2oz] [3000 -> 7.4oz]
      I'd love the 2k be just 5.5oz, don't get me wrong.

    If you downsize your line to 10lbs you’ll get more on and a better casting distance. 20lb is heavy for your set up. I would even run 6lb. You have a leader anyways so I think you will find you like lighter main line a lot more especially if you’re using spider wire it’s a lot thicker line than other brands so you could go a lot lighter. You’ll also find braid breaking rating is massively higher than what it says so if you ran 10lb it would actually probably break at 20lb. Your gear is a light set up and probably not rated for 20lb to really find the value in it. Lighter line will also catch you more fish.

    • @AnglingSpiders
      @AnglingSpiders  Місяць тому

      20 pound is heavy, but I am mainly a pike fisherman and some of the lakes I go to have fish over 20 pounds. It is overkill for the smaller ones. The reel is rated for 20 pound braid, but I do have it on a medium rod rated fro 12 pounds. That being said, I have caught over 130 pike already this year without issue. Thanks for the comment, always valuable to get advice.

    so how much further is you cast with that reel?
    and was that Travers?

    • @AnglingSpiders
      @AnglingSpiders  Місяць тому +1

      Good question, hard to say, but I was definitely reachnig some areas close to share that I couldn't with my other reel. Not Tarvers, Twin.
