100% agree on OG will ship you stuff better than anyone else ever has. Always impressed by how you guys take time to tape up bottle caps and wrap things. I ordered from rag company when you guys were out of beadmaker a few years back, that thing came busted and half empty lol. Nobody does it the way OG does. Thanks for all you do Matt
Griots 3 in 1 ceramic spray wax has been the single best topper to any coating ive ever applied for my clients. its durable on its own, adds gloss but most importanyly can be applied as a drying aide to boost hydrophobics. it should definately be part of this group of products no questions asked.
The Boss Cannon comes with a 1.25 installed and a 1.1 for less powerful pressure washers. It’s in the box. The Brilliant Shine comes with a 1.1 installed and a 1.25 in the box.
Griot's is such a good place to start if you're just getting into detailing. The interior cleaner was my first product I bought. Also, they have that amazing fire hose nozzle that you used to use back in their store
I also got my first detailing product by griots back in the day. 3 in 1 ceramic wax. Haven’t used it since, definitely going to pick up another bottle soon and try it out.
Griots was my genesis as well. I was in 6th grade in the mid 90s and a friend of my dads who was visiting pulls out this blue bottle of speed shine to wipe down his Lexus when he was visiting. He left me a spare catalog he had in his trunk and I sat for hours reading that darn thing cover to cover. That’s when I discovered there were more people ‘like me’ out there in the world. So happy to see you come full circle and be able to offer the products that still make you smile. PS - You’re looking great Matt! Keep it up, sir!
Congrats on your partnership with GG. I am similar in age to you, so when I got my first “big boy” new car back in 2000, I started with Griot’s products. Meguiars and Mothers was pretty popular but GG had a better user experience and overall quality about them… still use their stuff today!
Griots does a great job of speaking to the DIYer. I think they have some of the best values with their polishers. If I were getting started all over again they make a great first tool.
Back in the day it was all Meguiar's for me. Fast forward when I had a worthy car for detailing again I stumbled upon Griot's and fell in love with their products. It did not take long until I got the itch to try other brands and that's when I found out about Obsessed Garage. This was the pivotal point in taking my personal detailing to the next level with prosumer products and filtering out all the nonsense which has saved me a bunch of money. Their exterior detailing PFM towels are amazing as well as the professional water hose that I have on my ELEY reel. I've been stacking the crap out of the Best of Show spray wax on my daily so I can blast through the gallon I bought and the water behavior acts similar to coated paint. I visited their flagship store three years ago and congrats on convincing them to sell some of their stuff!
Great video Matt ! I have been a Griot's fan for probably 25+ years. The G15 is my go to polisher as a professional over any other polisher. This has an 1100 watt motor whereas the Rupes LHR15 Mark III only has a 500 watt motor. I "never" once stalled my G15 and I can't say enough good things about Griot's Garage. Their customer service is excellent so you teamed up with a top notch company. If I am not mistaken , they have a lifetime warranty on their polishers which is amazing and not seen with any other company in this industry. Best of luck in your new venture with Nick and the team over at Griot's Garage and look forward to more great content. I forgot to add, I have their Brilliant Finish Foam Cannon and it is the best foam cannon I ever used so check that one at as well.
A friend of my referred me to griots years back and it changed my entire detail game, between discovering OG and griots, my cars have never looked so good.
Two things about the P&S interior cleaner that I love is the smell, it doesn’t stay but also has a pleasant user experience. It also fades away when wiping like a window cleaner, along with leaving a factory new look. Is the griots interior cleaner similar? Is it worth the switch?
Congrats with the OGGG deal after a long chase. OG is probably THE BEST platform to showcase their products other than their own website; didn't understand their reluctance. Great products all around. The BOSS foam cannon is amazing!
Prefect timing. I sold my 991 and just bought a Scud. And I need to replace and update many of my cleaning/detailing tools and products that I have in my garage. Good move!
Just new to the Griots family after few weeks looking and searching for my polisher I’m taking now the time to learn and polish my cars no more paid someone to do my cars detailings thanks for the content your videos are helpful for me
I appreciate how Griot's products are labeled simply "Engine Cleaner" as oppose to other brands that call a products something funky like "HydrO2" and have no idea what it is
I haven't found anything better than the Griot's foaming surface prep at cleaning redwood spots and sap from my oak tree off paint. At full strength i just let it soak for a little and then it washes off. Before trying it I had to use clay to get the redwood spots off and that still didn't work well.
I've always liked the Griots line of chemicals. Engine cleaner is great, Interior cleaner is the best I've tried so far. I've used fast correcting cream and its pretty good, decent working time, and relatively low dust. Glad to see them in the OG store now, I know its been a long time coming for you Matt.
Griots 3-in-1 Leather Spray was one of the initial products I purchased to "detail" my first car. Its smell, which I imagine is the same as their Interior Car Scent, is very nostalgic for me as well. I use KC Pol Star, Colourlock Mild Leather Cleaner, and N914 for my interior, and I have products that function similarly to the rest (though I'm curious how the foam cannon performs compared to the MTM one. I certainly like the way the MTM one looks more.) I've been using the Fast Correcting Cream for a couple years as my "sledgehammer" compound and I do really like it. I was scared away from cheap polishers by an Amazon rotary so my first DA was a Rupes. I guess I'm spoiled in that regard.
I use the metering valves on the foam cannon and its super badass, makes foaming super easy without having to premix. Huge huge fan of the whole griots ecosystem, glad you were able to convince them to let you offer their products!
I wonder if the polishers kind of replace the corded rupes machines. Now that the best user experience is cordless (Milwaukee, Mirka, cordless Rupes), and the lowest price is Griots, Rupes cord tools are dead to me.
That Griot's plastic bottle looks very similar to the MJJC foam cannon bottle. I really like the wide mouth and stable platform. Very easy to change the orifice.
As a Washington resident, being 30 minutes away (previously only 5!) from the Griots headquarters, I’m extremely lucky. Best customer service, they’ll always throw in extra. Hard to knock the brand and the products speak for themselves at a competitive price.
Their interior doesn't foam like the P&S. Not for me. DIY Detail gold standard spray polish needs to be in the lineup for light correction and finishing.
Matt, if I were looking to buy just one polisher for DIY for only my personal vehicles, would you recommend buying a G15 and make it work in small spaces or the D13 and deal with a longer process when working large panels like the roof, hood. Etc? Thanks
If you can only have one machine, the yes. You'd just attempt to get the 5" in tighter areas as much as possible. That's what we all did in the beginning when 3" wasn't a thing.
Awesome video for guys like me who aren’t familiar with Griots products. I like to spray my favourite scent into my cabin air filter. It doesn’t last long but it lasts longer than just misting it in the carpet or a sponge. I would say it lasts a week or so.
Yeah....you really want to avoid wiping down the car. I'd highly recommend you consider using something like Optimum No Rinse or McKee's N-914 (What I use.). Check this stuff out. www.obsessedgarage.com/products/mckees-37-n-914-rinseless-wash
I’ve been using Griot’s interior cleaner for around 15 years now. I’ve tried other cleaners, but nothing works as well as Griot’s. I like that it is unscented, and I personally hate the smell of P&S interior cleaner. I have always used Griot's on my leather steering wheels to keep them clean with a factory matte finish. Works great!
Great video that brought back many memories of Griots products, both good and bad. Early 2000s I would spend hours looking over each new catalog. But unfortunately when I finally bought my first kit it was the Gen 1 polisher and that awful 4 step polishing system. I was so disappointed with the product I quit detailing my cars for years. I’m back into detailing now. Still have my gg wash bucket, 2 of the bug scrubbers and a very old bottle of new car scent! I have been learning a lot about how detailing has changed over the last 15 or so years. Thanks again for all the great videos.
Its great to see these in the store. i agree that the griots boss cannon is awesome, i found that straight GSF doesnt work well in the metering tip, i had to do like 800ml soap / 200ml di water and a metering tip to make it work, but i can get like 20 cars out of a foam cannon. As long as you use DI water on the mix you dont need to worry about the surfactants attacking the crappy water and losing foam over time.
Finally! The BOSS cannon is the best! The 1.25mm jet is installed out of the box. I installed the Mosmatic quick connect and I keep a spare bottle filled with Brakebuster. Super nice to screw an old Griot's bottle on that's filled with plain old water to flush after use. Also, lifetime warranty. 💪🏼🙌🏼🧼
Interior cleaner is the best, easy decision to buy it from OG moving forward. I like the features of the foam cannon and will pick one of those when available.
If you are doing a quick wipe down of the interior, would you recommend just using N914? I always feel the dedicated interior cleaners are a bit too strong for light dust. It’s like using APC on a dusty car, you wouldn’t… Thoughts?
A simple wipe down of the interior could be done with N914, but I like that the Griots Interior Cleaner is scent and dye free. It leaves nothing behind.
Ha, ha... Griot's is a bit of an odd company. They were sort of pro-sumer focused detailing provider in the beginning, then detailing ran away from them with new chemicals, machines, and processes that they didn't keep up with at the time. After that happened they hired Jeff Brown and made the Boss line of stuff. I think they are the one mainstream company that stayed pretty authentic through their success. Having stuff at Autozone has not seemed to change them or their product offering. But...they certainly aren't an authority on all things.
That's close to the limit of needing a 1.5mm orifice. Anything over 2.5GPM I recommend changing it out. I have them available in the Obsessed Garage store. obsessedgarage.com/products/mtm-foam-cannon-orifice
Lived off interior cleaner when I first started detailing. Making me want to try it again. I think my biggest thing is not having a dilutable cleaner. I’ve always used 3D LVP @ 10:1, just goes so far. But still, may try this again
It does. You will still see a pretty visible benefit to Sonax Perfect finish afterward on most paint systems. Fast Correcting Creme is pretty aggressive and does leave quite a bit of haze behind.
I’ve been following you Matt since the beginning, so totally understand what this means to you! Very happy for you man! Looking forward to spending my OG gift card on some of your new products. 👍🏻
Hey Matt, I remember seeing his products back in the day when I couldn’t even afford them …he was selling them at AutoZone when I had my Nissan 350 Z… I remember seeing the compound and wax for like 30 bucks and I was like wow.
So glad i chose the Griot's foam cannon over the MTM. It is so solid. It would be great if the Pressol sprayer tubes were as flexible as the Griot's foam cannon tube. I also need to get some of that Interior cleaner.
Thanks. I’ve just noticed that the weighted tip on the industrial tube doesn’t really help with pickup at different angles because the tube itself is too stiff to move. Kind of defeats the purpose of a weighted tube.
Hey Matt, have you tried Platinum Potions interior scents before? Pan seems to dig their Jungle Juice. I personally haven't used any but wanted to hear your opinion also.
Interior Cleaner can be used to clean any surface inside the car; plastic trim, leather, carpet. I like this because it doesn't leave anything behind, just a matte, clean finish. Interior Detailer is a lighter duty cleaner for interior surfaces and provides UV protection. Other the putting Colourlock Leather Shield to protect and condition leather, I don't find any other interior protection necessary.
Matt, I’ve been watching your channel for years and never thought I’d see this day. I remember my first beer, doesn’t mean I have it stocked in my fridge today. This makes me question everything. Come on, man.
Awesome job on this video Matt one thing that I think would be really cool would be for guys like myself on that boat is starting now like I have the $300 HarborFreight pressure washer, but the hose in the gun are complete garbage I think it would be cool if you sold the kit came with the conversion fittings of 50 foot hose and be able to use different guns and the kit included all the quick connect fittings. I love your logic why you like things and you don’t like things my wife tells me I over analyze things but at the same time I wanted to be correct. I would also like to see a video tutorial on beginner guides like what you’re just talking about with the foam cannon and those jetting what does that mean and what does that do? You do a lot of high-end things. The only people who have that kind of budget can afford to do. I’m the middle of the road Kai right now and to be honest with you I would try to kill her both if it was my business I have no time or patience for the section 8 class.
Griots Interior Cleaner is far superior to P&S in my personal opinion. Like Matt said color and scent free but also has a significantly more cleaning ability while still being safe around many interior surfaces. Griots Interior Cleaner might be my favorite detailing product honestly.
The newer foam cannon is better imo, this one here is just more expensive. It also wants more GPM, the newer one works better with lower GPM washers. I do have both as well. The compound is good, works great, the engine cleaner is ok, the interior cleaner is great but it’s not needed. Rinseless does the job, the microfiber cleaner I haven’t used yet. And the polishers, stay away from the 3” you’ll be highly disappointed, the 21mm I had also and it vibrates like crazy, has a rattling sound to it, very uncomfortable sound, the 15mm is a good machine.
I have and like both of their foam cannons, but I always use the BOSS. It feels higher quality, the shape is better, the bottle is thicker, stainless steel, and it creates better foam. I like the Brilliant Finish cannon for sure, but it's noticably worse IMO.
Matt, while talking with the Rupes guys a few years ago, they gave me the impression that Griot's polishers is a Chinese rip off of their long throw system. In fact, my local Rupes guys categorized Griots polisher as a rebranded Max Shine from the same factory. Is that a fair assessment?
I don't think that's fair. It's certainly not in the league of the RUPES, but I feel as though they spent enough time and effort with some innovation to make their machine unique.
100% agree on OG will ship you stuff better than anyone else ever has. Always impressed by how you guys take time to tape up bottle caps and wrap things. The thing I like most about the Griot's Interior Cleaner is that it just cleans. There are no scents, no dyes, nothing to leave any trace behind.

Everything from Griot's smells *so* good. Their engine cleaner is pretty great for rinsing your hands off if you don't have access to a sink.
I appreciate how Griot's products are labeled simply "Engine Cleaner" as oppose to other brands that call a products something funky like "HydrO2" and have no idea what it is

What goes well with the fast correcting cream beside the perfecting cream? What's the best finishing polish you've used?
I like Sonax Perfect Finish.
Griots “complete compound” is amazing and so easy to use. It even removes water spots from the paint and it shines so good.
I’ve used the interior cleaner for the past few years until it actually damaged the finish on my Mustangs airbag. Not sure I’ll ever use it again.
I'm not sure if I've heard of that happening before.
Great video that brought back many memories of Griots products, both good and bad. Early 2000s I would spend hours looking over each new catalog. Ha, ha... That polish was so bad, and I had no idea. It was almost impossible to wipe off, and basically did nothing to correct the paint.
Its great to see these in the store. i agree that the griots boss cannon is awesome, i found that straight GSF doesnt work well in the metering tip, i had to do like 800ml soap / 200ml di water and a metering tip to make it work, but i can get like 20 cars out of a foam cannon. I don't plan to right now.
I'm excited about this! Griot's is local to me. I wish I could hear Matt's opinion on their entire catalog!

Are you going to carry the new SEMA announced products? Boss gun, nozzles, nonsmelly iron remover, wash bucket dissolvables?
No
For the guys with cars that smell like kids or food, Koch Chemie fresh up + griots fine leather is a life saver. Congrats on making this happen Matt.
Eww...that's a good point. That combo with the possibility of adding overnight baking soda then vacuum really helps with that.
I use their engine cleaner.. and their matte tire spray.. love that stuff
The engine cleaner is legit.
OG now stands for Obsessed Griot's😉😏
Lived off interior cleaner when I first started detailing. Making me want to try it again. I think my biggest thing is not having a dilutable cleaner. I’ve always used 3D LVP @ 10:1, just goes so far. But still, may try this again
For me the ready to use stuff is the better option, I have 1 to 2 cars to clean. So diluteable stuff just goes for far to long
Does the fast correcting cream finish well if used with the least agressive finishing pad?
It does. You will still see a pretty visible benefit to Sonax Perfect finish afterward on most paint systems. Fast Correcting Creme is pretty aggressive and does leave quite a bit of haze behind.

So glad i chose the Griot's foam cannon over the MTM. It is so solid. It would be great if the Pressol sprayer tubes were as flexible as the Griot's foam cannon tube.

What’s the difference between the Interior Cleaner and Interior Detailer?
Interior Cleaner can be used to clean any surface inside the car; plastic trim, leather, carpet. I like this because it doesn't leave anything behind, just a matte, clean finish.
Interior Detailer is a lighter duty cleaner for interior surfaces and provides UV protection. Other the putting Colourlock Leather Shield to protect and condition leather, I don't find any other interior protection necessary.

16 oz of this? I cant read the bottle. Please say the name of Griot’s products.
I love the wheel and tire cleaner
I'm surprised to hear you think the Griot's foam cannon is better than your MTM. I'm looking forward to an OG Spec version!
I'd pay a significant up charge for an OG Spec, Griot's Garage, OG Blue Boss Foam Cannon.
Matt, I’ve been watching your channel for years and never thought I’d see this day. I remember my first beer, doesn’t mean I have it stocked in my fridge today. This makes me question everything. Come on, man.
I sell the products I like. I've always liked the Griot's line, and now I have the opportunity to market them.
I still love my Griot's products to this very day. Probably a 1/4 of my stuff is Griot's.
I know Matt's not a wax guy, but I like their Liquid Poly Wax. Super slick!
Looks like good stuff, just a shame its pretty non existant here in the UK, I expect it would sell very well here.
My plan is to bring all of the products I sell to Europe in 2025. I'm starting with Canada.
@@ObsessedGarageCome over! We have tea, biscuits and MONIES! 😂
The website says it's a 1.25mm
Thanks. I swear I looked, but I couldn't find it.
The interior Detailer is pretty damn great but Gyeon interior Detailer is amazing as well
Downside is Gyeon Interior Detailer has no protection in it but Griots Interior Detailer does. Griots Interior Cleaner is just a cleaner like Gyeon.
Boss foaming system is hands down the best on the market. Prove me wrong. Matt get you some Poly Gloss
I've got both GG interior cleaner and PS. Both work great, not a fan of the PS pineapple scent
Fan of Griots bottles as well
Griots Interior Cleaner is scent free, so that was a major point for me.
I HAVE USED GRIOTS GARAGE PRODUCTS FOR MANY YEAR'S ! HIGHLY RECOMMEND THEIR PRODUCTS !! JESSE VIA LAS VEGAS
Regarding interior scent’s isn’t it the fact you just get used to it? Not so much it dissipating.
Griots Interior Cleaner is far superior to P&S in my personal opinion. Like Matt said color and scent free but also has a significantly more cleaning ability while still being safe around many interior surfaces. Griots Interior Cleaner might be my favorite detailing product honestly.
I think you might be right about it being a favorite. It's one of mine too.
Those polishers got me through dozens of jobs which allowed me to afford rupes. Totally can’t knock it in that sense
Always weird hearing Matt saying anything good about products below a certain price point.
If it’s good, then it’s good. No matter the price.
Yes, WE know that.
P&S is even lower price point and he has it too
I like how this is the best foam canon, only because he sells it now?!
It's been the best. I just wasn't able to get it in my store until now.
@@joshread3740 I haven’t had that experience with it. I have both and the boss cannon wants more gpm to do the same work.
Young Matt got a dream come true 😬
That's pretty darn true.
I like their products. Work very well.
Me sitting here holding my MTM that is covered with tears 🥲
Retire it to the wheel foam cannon and give yourself an excuse to upgrade.
Still prefer gtechniq but beats the hell out of a certain gimmicky brand with cool looking labels. If you know you know
👍
I think Griot's is going to regret not partnering sooner once they quickly realize just how much "pull" OG has...
Please do get into the metering tips testing !!!
