Can't thank you enough for doing these vids Matt. Going to be a great series to come back to several times. Definitely will be ordering some more stuff from you
This is fantastic! I’ve owned a polisher for about 10 years, and never polished any of my cars for fear of screwing something up. This shows you can keep it simple, take your time and have fun with it. I also have a “pickup” and was a bit daunted by the size. I’m keen to have a go! Thanks OG!
I'm very thankful for you taking your time to give us a lesson on polishing! I have never found such a complete practical video on this subject on youtube, thank you very much. ☺
@@peterjohnson8631 rather than having to draw a line on the pad with marker to let you know the pad stopped spinning. Idk I've never used the damn things lol
I have a truck similar to this, new to polishing. Is microfiber safe for me to begin with or would you suggest the wool yellows for more slightly cooler running?
A wool pad is going to be exceptionally more aggressive than a microfiber pad. They are used for heavy swirling and on hard paint that needs a lot of correction.
@@ObsessedGarage ok perfect. So I should probably go hello micro rupes and yellow foam rupes to stay safe then. Let me take those wools out of my cart. Thanks for your prompt replies.
Great tip on priming the pad. Keep up the good work. Still waiting on that OG spec pressure washer spray gun protective boot. Plenty of guys on the Facebook page want it. Let's make it happen!!
I'm so excited to start my detailing business.I just purchased the Ultimate OG Package for the Kranle K1122TST! Got into that mindset to pay for quality and don't cheap out if you want perfection.
RUPES just announced 3 new microfiber pads, they look like an improvement over the Meguiars and I'm sure Jason was instrumental in developing them. I know Jescar compound will forever have a place in your heart, but you should really try The Last Cut. I learned about it from The Rag Company, and it blew me away compared to Jescar. It will remove 3000 grit sanding marks, but finishes down very well on harder paints. Zero dust, won't stain trim if you accidentally sling it, and it also has a long working time.
I don’t like the speed control. I feel like 3 is too slow and 4 is too fast. I also feel like it is too dainty for a 3 inch and too bulky for a 1” pad.
Matt, I'm a fan of your channel and what you're curating for us. I went to purchase a quart of your drying aid and shipping to Maryland was $15 on a $25 purchase. Have you considered cheaper shipping? Not everyone needs the product in 3 days.
@@timkinley1779 I bought a quart of drying aid from another vendor and they managed to ship it UPS for $7.50. I want to support what Matt does and the value he adds, but charging 2x for shipping is a bit too far.

Really loving these videos but you can't discourage people by telling them they need to buy the $400 rupes polisher when it doesn't make sense for them Someone starting out it's hard to justify $400 for one piece of equipment, I personally am starting with a rupes knockoff I got for $80, $320 less than rupes. That'd be like me telling you why settle for a porche, just get a Bugatti... it's not pheasable or reasonable for many.
By buying Chinese copies, you are spitting directly in the face of one the companies that invests in your profession. They are stealing intellectual property, and you are validating that.
This guy really doesn't like the Chinese. Just because they make the same category of products doesnt mean they're ip theft. Especially when they're better than the italian / german "inventors" at it.
I always turn out great at whatever i do. With that said, i flipping hate training or being trained. If i am not working i am falling asleep standing up 😂. I would assume this guy falls in the same category.

PPF on the piano black trim on the doors, is a must. I hate how that piano black swirls so easy. The PPF always looks mint!

Rupes should add a small light to the polisher that lights up when it stops spinning during operation.

A lot of scratches on door glass is generally through the tint on the inside. Other wise you can get scratches out of them without hours of work.
Spta has a new mini polisher which I hate to admit I purchased it and am loving it! I know I know but it's actually good!
Which DA polisher size is most versatile for DIY detailer and weekend warriors?
I think it now has to be the 15mm Milwaukee.

Would wet sanding fix any water spot issues without dealing with heat?
I don't have a DA. Could I get away with just the 3" mains Flex for my well maintained Golf - once a year single stage?
You could, but that would take forever.

Matt, on the topic of polishers, what's your opinion on the Shinemate polishers?
They are Chinese IP theft.

Hello ! I need to buy the jescar correction compound but i live in Europe.
Do you do shipment?
Jescar is called Manzerna in EU
Why do you use 15mm instead of 21mm throw? Also why 5 inch instead of 6?
I find the 6” pad too big. The 15mm orbit and 5” pad is the sweet spot.
