    What exactly do you mean? I think layer upon layer?
    What would be the negative, detrimental, apprehension to doing that?

    Thanks for the review!
    I started using the Griot's 3 In 1 2 years ago. I am in Michigan and winters can really tear off a coating. I put a final coating in August the last 2 years. I go through the drive thru car wash at least twice a week. The 3 In 1 still has great hydrophobic properties in April 2 years in a row. My co-worker also dabbles in detailing cars some like I do. He likes the Turtle Wax stuff. I noticed last week at work when it was raining that his was hardly repelling the rain. Maybe I will try the Turtle Wax for the summer and hit it with the Griot's in the Fall.
    I offer the Griot's 3 In 1 as an option to customers and all have been happy that chose it. Plus it is a lot quicker to apply than carnauba or whatever wax I use.

      @rattles02 I live in Wisconsin myself so I know how those winters go. So would you advise using the griots or something like tec582 every 6 months, then Beadmaker maybe as a topper more frequently?

    • @Rattles02
      @Rattles02 Рік тому

      @@davidbartsch255 I have some retro stipes I am adding to my 4Runner so everything is getting stripped before I do that. Polish a few rough spots and then the Griot's! Some of my black trim was starting to fade (it's a '17). I have tried a ton of black trim products over the year between my old Tacoma's black fender flares and customer's vehicles. I picked up some Cerakote black trim wipes and they work great!I was really iffy about using a wipe but I am real happy with the results.

    Have used both. Real world durability was about the same. Both held up well during a snowy, salty winter. Maybe a tiny bit more gloss and deeper color with Griots but I can't say for sure. You mentioned adding more every week may get things layered too much? So thats why you use a beadmaker on top for regular washes.

    The 3-1 is the champ as the spray sealant as of now in my book, you can use much lighter hybrid spray sealants as drying aids as well. Add in a proper maintenance schedule with the right chemicals and you can get at least 18 months or more out of 3-1. Topped at least twice a year and yeah it’ll just keep going.

      Coatings only need to be applied when they are wearing out. A long term product can withstand multiple washes. No need to reapply every wash unless it’s wearing out. A short term product is best used as a drying aid for weekly washes as it wears out faster and you reapply each wash. At least that’s my opinion.

    Love your energy dude, subscribed.
    A little bit of confusion though, at the beginning of the video I had my bets on Turtle Wax. Many of the other videos I watched all showed Turtle Wax excelling or being on par with even the much more expensive products! The results were shocking though, and Griots Garage's product at .91 cents per fluid ounce (22floz) outdid TW's product at .94 cents per fluid ounce (16floz). I'm impressed!
    You mention though some frustration, that durability like this isn't something you would want? It'll be messy? Are you referring to having to remove the wax/coating with cutting and polishing? If so, why ever need to remove it? If you do a solid wash, clay, cut, polish, buff, and then ceramic coat or otherwise, you should never need to remove it, as the coating will protect the paint (to an extent) especially the more you put on. If you ever DO need to remove it, I've been able to remove even the strongest of coatings with just a strong cleaner that is less diluted, is there a concern to this?
    Hopefully you'll see this or someone else may, excited to see more of your videos in my feed.

    • @HawaiiDetailing
      @HawaiiDetailing  2 роки тому +1

      Thanks. I was just referring to layering strong sealants. I prefer to have a strong sealant or ceramic coating as a base layer and just top it off with a less durable drying aid after each wash. Something that wears off after a few washes. After the stronger sealants starts to fade then I reapply. I gauge the need for this at each wash cycle. A lot of people were asking about putting this type of spray coating on after each wash. I think that’s to much durability to applied like that. That’s just my thoughts. Thanks for watching and commenting your thoughts. Welcome to the channel.

      @@HawaiiDetailing Ah, I see! Okay this clarifies, I didn't catch these clarifications in the video if you had mentioned them. My bad. I definitely can understand how that may be "bad" for strong coatings like that. Drying aids are probably the best bet in that regard. Awesome, and thanks for the response!

    You need the solutions to actively break down the coatings by letting them sit on the panel for awhile. When you just spray on and wipe off, the chemical is not really doing anything at all. What you are seeing for results is just the friction of the mitt you are using to wipe down the panel along with the pressure washer's cleaning power.
    A fair test would be to take a small drop of each solution and let them sit for a few minutes and then use free flowing water to rinse it off so the pressure washer itself doesn't influence the cleaning results.

      Most of the video was sped up as it was a 45 minute event reduced to be viewable. The products dwelled for a few minutes each time. It was intended as a rough reference for durability showing that the products last long enough for people that do not wash their car regularly not a scientific torture test. Thanks for watching and commenting.

    I did a one step earlier this summer before I applied the griots and it is looking great. Still tight beads.
    How should I be going about removing any of the remnants of the coating to return to the “naked paint” ?

If I apply griots garage 3 in 1 wax to my car and then when I wash it regularly (twice a week) and I apply bead maker like you recommended at the end of the video should I apply bead maker when the car is still wet? Or do I do it after I have completely dried it? Thanks and keep up the amazing work!

    • @HawaiiDetailing

      Spray it on the wet panel and dry with your drying towel. It acts as a drying aid to make it lubricated so that you won’t mar the paint as you dry. It also leaves a slick hydrophobic surface.

    Love your videos & your style. Yeeahh. Great intro. Topping with bead maker, after a few weeks or month is the griots or HS still going to show its durability & qualities? I’m hesitant to try Beadmaker. I’m in NYS and need to have that extra protection through the winter. So would I reapply Griots after the beadmaker in the fall? Thanks so much

    • @HawaiiDetailing
      @HawaiiDetailing  3 роки тому +2

      Thanks. My thoughts on this are. Having a proper ceramic coating is always the best form of protection. If you go with the spray ceramic I would only reapply when the protective properties start to fade. Loss of beading and sheeting. After applying the spray ceramic I would top it with a product like Bead maker. I love this method because Bead maker makes a great drying aid by lubricating the paint for towel drying. You can use it every time you wash and dry. Its not necessary but its really nice. If its beading and sheeting your are good. When it starts to fade repeat the process.
