    Nothing is more satisfying than loving the car you own, doing your own maintenance, and modifying it yourself. I don't do it to save money, I do it because it's a labor of love and I get a little nervous about anyone else touching it.

      You get it. That is 100% the reason.

    I added those Ford Performance catch cans on my 2014 GT and while they looked stock and looked good, they still let a lot of oil past the can part. I still had a lot of oil in my exit line on the passenger side. I went back to running my Bob's Auto Sport can and no more liquid oil in the exit line. I did put the FP can on my fiancée's 2017 F150 with the 5.0. Having it is better than nothing. Anyway, great channel and I love to see a female working on her own stuff since that seems to be a rarity. Keep up the good work.

    I totally love the fact that you went with Ford Performance parts. You're right, the parts look like they were on the car when it rolled off the line in Flat Rock.

    • @woman.driven
      @woman.driven  6 років тому +1

      They do look good and I'm glad I chose Ford Performance. I just wish they had already came with the car when it rolled off the line.

    Wow, the installation of the Ford kit is much more involved than the JLT catch can. I like that this is a Ford Performance part and looks oem, can barely tell its even there.

    Thanks for posting this video and the video for the Op7 lights! They've helped so much.
    I broke a pin for the driver's side, so I'm gonna have to get a new pin. But your video helped so much. Thanks again.

    Dorace, great video. I just fabbed a catch can for my Whipple GT for the same reason you chose the crazy expensive Ford Performance parts. They look good. Couldn't find one that looked good. Even Ford performance didn't look right with the supercharger. I struggled with the hose connectors as Ford had changed them people. You need a flat blade tool to pull the large tab back while you squeeze the small tabs on the side. Small flat screw driver works great but I've used a dime in a pinch. Used to just have to pinch the tabs. Could you please do a follow up on emptying the catch cans. I'm glad I put one on. I'm surprised how much oil I get on the passenger side. Didn't do the driver side.. keep them coming Dorace as winter is on its way and their are going to be a lot of parked mustangs looking for Arizona content.

    • @woman.driven
      @woman.driven  6 років тому

      The hoses went on surprisingly easy. I did see some videos of others stating tight fitment or stretching. I imagine a Whipple would benefit the most than an N/A car. Either way, I will make an update in a few weeks of driving the car to see where it collects.

  • @GearHead704
    @GearHead704 5 років тому

    Typically I think of catch cans being needed for supercharged or turbo applications although I do remember that later on you find oil in the cans. What's the reason for needing them with an NA setup?

    I didn't want to sift thru 540 comments to see if you have answered this, but there is always a nagging question to this install. You bought Ford performance catch cans. The question is, if Ford sells them, why don't they come on the car?? Sometimes it makes my head hurt the amount of overkill redundant systems on a car, yet a simple catch can isn'r deemed a standard component? Kudos to you for having the foresight to get them installed.

    • @woman.driven
      @woman.driven  6 років тому

      I wish I knew the reason why it does not come standard. It doesn't make any sense other than them knowing most owners won't drive the car anywhere near the limit. I was initially reserved about it, but after seeing some other videos showing the excess oil and pictures, I pulled the trigger.

    Would appreciate it if you could add more content to explain each step along more through. Especially if you ran into any problems.
    Thank you for the video.

    I bought high temp zip ties that have the small metal piece inside where the zip tie goes into. I use them on my harley, especially near the engine

      That is good to know. I did not know about those. I need to go find them and buy some. My initial thought was heat when I used the ones found at a hardware store, but I figured I did not have a choice. Thank you for that.
