I’ve been a charger and dodge fan my whole life but I’ve always had love for the gt500, and 350. I think I’m really leaning toward these cars these days. They are truly something else.
Amen. When I take my 350r out, I tend to have to wave at all car people. Jeep, JDM, Mopar, LS, European. If you’re a car guy, you understand the unigue bad assery that ford engineered into these cars. Every time I take my car out (as often as possible and as early as 45 min ago as I write this), I feel like it’s an adventure… If my wife needs an ingredient from Publix, I grab my boat shoes and Shelby keys and enthusiastically tell her that I will take on the task.
Well done, highly informative video. I have a GT 350 and it is well balanced as you noted. Amazing how it builds power once you get past 4K in the rev range.
Thanks for the detailed comparison. There is a reason why the GT500 engine is named the predator :) With this engine and the impressive chassis dynamics the GT500 is at the top of the food chain.
@@ralphhall9434 that's not what it's about. The 350 is my choice over the 500 every time. You can disagree all you want to, I'll take the light nimble car every time over the heavy rubber destroyer.
I’ve had mine for four years now..and I can tell you I enjoy it and get excited about it today as much as the day I bought it. I’m not selling it anytime soon.
Excellent video. It’s very informative 👍 Those two cars look fabulous in your driveway. The blue and white GT500 and the red GT350 give you an all American look.
Color coding on your HP and TQ graphs is a bit confusing..... Power (HP) in red on side label but blue line and blue font for max, while Torque (FT LB) is in blue on side label yet red line and red max font on graph. This is for the GT350, for the GT500, you got it right.
Talking my language. My push rod 302 mustang got hurt when I went from my mugen to the mustang. Been 3 years since I’ve driven the mugen. I love high rpm, but the chop of the push rod 302 is nice too. This gt350 has my attention
Nice comparison. I have both cars and consider both of these closed air intake systems. The hood on the 350 seals the intake when closed. I put a JLT intake on the 500 and gained an additional 25hp (untuned).
7:14 "this supercharger is ALMOST HALF the displacement of this engine." Not good at math, are you? Engine is 5.2L... Supercharger is 2.65L... 2.65 x 2 = 5.3... The Supercharger is OVER HALF the displacement. 😂🤦♂️👍
The 350 is manual transmission!! I get twin disc , paddle shift is faster. I wanna shift my car. Exactly why I choose the 350. I daily my car to work. I enjoy every single drive. I get the500 is faster. I enjoy the experience of driving!! Gt 350 for the win , for me!
The weight difference between the cars is 360 pounds. I’m not sure exactly what each engine weighs fully dressed. The supercharger assembly is 90 pounds alone and with all the plastic parts switched to aluminum on the 500 I would say around 120 lbs.
It sounds nothing like a cross or flat plane crank because of the flat plane style... European flat plane cranks are up, down, down, up. While the Voodoo is up, down, up, down.
Gt350 is 50/50 gamble It can last well over 100k miles if you maintain Or blow up in couple thousand more or less millage My bro brought 350 2016 6speed it had 695miles brand new After couple of weeks guess what back to dealership motor blow up at 1055miles 🤣 hopefully he had warranty but they end ip replacing the motor if he didn’t had warranty it would cost probably well over 20k +
Carbon fiber wheels, slightly wider tires 305/315 instead of 295/305. R spoiler is different. The suspension is tuned differently for the lighter wheels. And I believe the R has no back seats
WTF? Let's see same engine block? same displacement? Both double overhead camshaft? yeah no they're they're completely different... Stupid as comment I've heard on the internet all week

Apex
Both are awesome cars. But I'll always take my GT350 over the 500. Sounds better and has manual. No flappy paddles for me. Fantastic video.
GT350 is way more special car to me as well although the GT500 is neat.
Gt350 not even in the same realm can't even compare the two together. Gt500 with its dual clutch kills any stick shift not even comparable. 😅

@ralphhall9434 not concerned about how much faster gt500 can shift. Only boy scouts would prefer auto over stick!
Auto > Standard
Get with the times
Appreciate the time taken to make this. Learned a few things here. ❤🐱👍
I need that gt500 with the beautiful double clutch paddle shift. I love that American muscle has finally started to use that technology.
Excellent work on explaining the engines, beautiful cars!
on this channel there are answers to all my questions about Shelby. Thank you for your job
My dream car is a GT350. I’ll get one at some point. Absolutely love that car.
You & Me both bro!

Awesome video, but also noticed this
Yup, he needs to edit that, but great video when dyno graph is shown
An overlay of the two graphs with 4 different colors would be impressive.
Fantastic video! The GT500 engine is sure a beast of an engine, both are great motors but power wise is not really close between these two.
💞
Great video and explanations. Cheers

Even with low torque, I still love the GT350. Put a supercharger on it & then it's ridiculous 🙌🏾💯
Nice comparison. I have both cars and consider both of these closed air intake systems. The hood on the 350 seals the intake when closed. I put a JLT intake on the 500 and gained an additional 25hp (untuned).
You make it easy to understand ..
Thank you very much for the tutorial

The GT 500 would be fun to show off with for the weekend snd the 350 for real day to day still very fast drivinh.
Why do I see this comment everywhere?
We need more of these !!
Nice video. I learned a few things.

Exactly why I choose the 350.

You nailed it. I’ve had my GT350 for four years now. I still love it
GT500 Big Brother, brute force, big hammer
GT350 scrappy, salty, sounds incredible
I own a GT350 and love the GT500, but really wish it was offered in a manual.
Great video brother
Great video! What’s the weight difference between the two motors? Sorry if I missed it in the vid

Gt500 need 5.2 voodoo,2015 rear bumper and 2015 rear lights=perfect gt500
1:58 Exhaust yes, simple diffrence between engine and exhaust in sound
Anyone else notice the deer in his yard at 8:14? lol
Good catch 👍
Well made video, thanks for posting!
Great video brother!
gt500 front bumper is my first luv, but regardless of any metric , i would love to shift the gt500 manually...gotta go wit the gt350...
It's curious that Chevy also used the Ferrari 458 engine to pattern their flat plane crank LT6 engine after.
I still want the Voodoo
Regarding oil catch cans, are these useful considering this engine has port fuel injection?
yeah, the intake system will still get covered in an oily residue without it.
at 4:16 I thought the headers weren't so much for flow as they were for faking a crossplane firing order for the exhaust tone
It sounds nothing like a cross or flat plane crank because of the flat plane style... European flat plane cranks are up, down, down, up. While the Voodoo is up, down, up, down.
Awesome video
Love to see a voodoo engine with a 10R80 plus Whipple on it. Power from low to 8000 rpm! Anyone done this?
10 speed isn't needed on fast cars with actual power. It don't hold up as well at that power level.
Great Video !
nice info liked & subscribed
Gt350 is 50/50 gamble
It can last well over 100k miles if you maintain
Or blow up in couple thousand more or less millage
My bro brought 350 2016 6speed it had 695miles brand new
After couple of weeks guess what back to dealership motor blow up at 1055miles 🤣 hopefully he had warranty but they end ip replacing the motor if he didn’t had warranty it would cost probably well over 20k +
I think our 21 GT has port and direct to help clean. Direct only opens at 2000rpm.
Yes, Gen3 Coyote in 2018 started with that.
what makes the gt350 and gt350r different?
Carbon fiber wheels, slightly wider tires 305/315 instead of 295/305. R spoiler is different. The suspension is tuned differently for the lighter wheels. And I believe the R has no back seats
Correct you the c6 ZR1 has almost the same supercharger. C7 has a lot smaller supercharger
Are the GT500/GT350 blocks different than a Coyote block?
Yes, especially after 18. They beefed up the block and used the same one for both cars.
If it’s gt500 yeah
Easy choice. Get the 350 w the stick and hennessy supercharge it for the same price as a factory 500.
You didn’t turn them on 😭
wow 나에겐 GT500이 더 좋은 것 같습니다
크로스 크랭크샤프트의 소리도 헤비메탈 같아서 좋습니다
I just bought both…
50% more cylinder pressure = 50% more torque
Team All Motor all the way, American, Japanese, and European
Those are diesel numbers. Awesome
If Ford wanted to keep the weight down they should’ve used carbon fiber LOL
Small correction, high cylinder pressures are measured in PSI, pounds per square inch, not pounds as you stated.
One's supercharged, completely different design
Honda Dohc in a 5.0
Blocks are not the same.
WTF? Let's see same engine block? same displacement? Both double overhead camshaft? yeah no they're they're completely different... Stupid as comment I've heard on the internet all week
Ok Ford is saying the GT500 pushes 760 HP.. where's the loss at?
