    A tip 3M sells a kit for removing spoilers, body side mouldings is a spatula and a spray bottle to make easy on removing parts with double sided tape also 3M sells adhesive promoter so just in case u r going to use double sided tape it will stick very good to the surface and it won't peel later

    nice install. However one thing I learned when drilling through metal. It's best to tape over the area you are going to drill. It helps to achieve a better clean hole. I use masking tape, mark and drill. It works every-time for me.

    • @woman.driven
      @woman.driven  5 років тому

      I did not know that. It's actually a clever idea. I will remember that for next time. Thanks for watching!

  • @dondakota920
    @dondakota920 5 років тому +1

    A couple suggestions for you, when you are inserting the screw into the trunk lid to secure the spoiler, specifically the one you dropped, put a piece of masking tape over the hex head and force the socket on top, this will hold the ball in the socket until it is secure then you can wiggle the socket off and pull the tape off with a pair of needle-nose pliers. It will make life a lot simpler and avoid the headache you went through. Also with the metal shavings that landed on your car, snatch them up with a magnet so they won't scratch your paint when you clean them up. Also when you have the holes filled and painted make sure they also paint around the holes you drilled on the underside. If you don't do this rust will set in. Every point where water can get in contact with bare metal is a breeding point for rust.

    • @woman.driven
      @woman.driven  5 років тому +1

      The tape idea I will attempt for a next project if I need to. I didn't think of that doing that. I ended up blowing away the metal shavings after I realized what I was doing. Lesson learned. As for the holes, I will cover them up. Just waiting on the stripes and looking at the best way to do it. The spoiler will be removed and holes will be painted before I put it back on.

    Remember when you drilling holes whatever you're installing remember your old ring seal the old rain seal one for vibration like music systems sometimes is better the O-ring seal it inner and outer sometimes a double layer or just a really thick layer something like a nut and bolt steel o-ring nutting bolt double seal to prevent vibration so because of the vibration itself sometimes the key ring itself or vibrate out then the trunk pops up and then sometimes people just walk in there and steal just because of the vibration so preventing theft with the O-ring seal is no different than the keyless ignition that he rang a prevent stealth it prevents stealth and stealing but it prevents stealing or manipulation of the motherboard the motherboard thing the computer system tell if anyone messes with the computer system in modern-day the car it might move for a little while but eventually the system of shut down the swing being stolen it'll shut down and it might shut down on the highway regardless if the key Rings there are not it's in his hacking of the motherboard of manipulation of the ignition system there's a key system check that always has to be accounted for with the computer system under the motherboard startup system check without that the car system will start or it will not start or shut down prevention of theft 911 issue when they stole the airplane this is what I wanted to basically build he'll put into play to prevent anything from being stolen from Cars to airplanes system check DEFCON 5

    Just a little tip for ya if you ever have to do this again. Buy you fishing line, slip it under wing and shimmy the line back and forth after using heat like you did and continue to do that from one end to the other and the glue will be sliced which releases the spoiler from the glue faster. Also prevents from damaging your paint.

    seal them from getting water to the raw metal and prevent rusting.

      You're comment did not get deleted. It got sent to spam. Why? You keep leaving the same comments over and over. I could understand a GT non GT350 being a fake GT350R...but when this car is an actual GT350 (same engine, look, drivetrain) Putting a spoiler that serves a purpose on a track better than the original one means I care about making changes to better then aero for a car I will be taking to the track.

      His comment got sent to spam by going around saying the same thing over and over again to other people.

    I love how your GT350 is coming alone and can’t wait for the next video. I got my 2018 GT in June and it’s scary wrenching on a new car, but your skills make it happen all day long and it’s on a Shelby too, I have nothing but love and respect for you! Keep up the great content and motivation.

      Congratulations on your GT! It is a great car. What trans did you get? We got our cars around the same time then. It is scary but part of the process of installing these modifications. If we don't do it, either way someone else will at a shop. Thank you, I do appreciate your support.

      Woman.Driven Hola from Tampa, Fl. I bought my GT with the 10 speed auto and 3.55 gearing. I plan to make my car breath with a better exhaust setup, tune, and traction. I also want to do body mods that are functional. I rather do the mods myself as you truly know your vehicle inside-out. If there’s trouble at the track, you know how to modify it on the spot. You are a lot further than me on mods, but I’ll get there. Once again, I wish you great success with your channel.

    You could still open your garage that's what that pull cord that hangs down is for pull that it disconnects it from the garage door opener and you can by hand pull and push door open!

    Garage door springs usually take about 15 minutes to replace and I would recommend replacing them both and not just one because when one goes out it's not long before the second goes out and you don't want another loud bang in the night scaring the crap out of you and yours. Just my advice. BTW nice wing it does tie in the car and complete the look.

    • @woman.driven
      @woman.driven  5 років тому

      The gentleman that came out recommended the same thing. Both were replaced along with the bearings for the pole that spins in place. All is working good. Thanks, the wing does complete it. 👍

    Nice job. I'm not certain where you live but I'm concerned about leaving those holes unfilled. The car may spend much of its time in the garage, but you can get caught in the rain while you're out, then you'll water issues in the trunk. I'm impressed with the 4 car garage. Found the video educational. Thx

    • @woman.driven
      @woman.driven  5 років тому

      I will fix the holes myself. Just some simple body work and re-stripe. None of the center pieces I found to cover up look good to me. Thank you for watching.

    Love how clean everything looks in your garage entirely must lots of work , not worried about the finger prints, however, didn't like the dusting of the metal shaves with your hands across the paint not safe for you or the paint. Sorry obsess about paint finishes lol, but great video.
