The one advantage of living in Switzerland is that any time we travel everything seems super cheap but yes travelling with Randellas in one's pocket is painful.

One mans light turbulence is another mans moderate turbulence which is another mans severe turbulence. Sometimes the seatbelt signs are on when the conditions are smooth. Sometimes the seatbelt signs are off when you are in continuous turbulence. Sometimes the cabin service is suspended and cabin crew are seated for anticipated turbulence and it turns out to be smooth. The next day conditions are expected to be smooth but continuous turbulence is encountered. The result of all this is that the seatbelt sign is not taken seriously because of the inconsistency.
