Virgin Australia and QANTAS have both offered recruitment pathways for the affected Bonza employees... Bonza’s operation was mainly East Coast so not too much benefit for the Kimberly and Top End airlines. Don't even joke, all 3 Nexus flights from Broome yesterday had a Saffa operating up front as well as the Air North jungle jet from Broome to Darwin 🤣
A better option than sneakers: RM Williams…. I think market research has shown that passengers prefer the traditional Pilot’s uniform. Which means I get to fly with a collar and tie in 40°C 🤣
Japan is a great option, it's not an easy licence conversion and the operations are normally quite rigid, but once you have proven yourself, the companies are quite loyal to their employees. Flying 747’s for NCA has been my dream job. If anyone is looking outside of SA and wanting residency and/or citizenship opportunities, Oz is an option. Plenty of airlines, including Nexus, are actively looking for crew. Either way, sometimes one needs to take a risk and see how it plays out.

I think the airline "takkies" are a winner. Probably best to issue crew with a pair. Otherwise, you always get the yob that pitches in their 90's raver kit. There were some interesting footwear choices at Air Inuit but losing pieces of your foot from frostbite was a reality.

I’m all for the sneakers!! Always a challenge for us women to find shoes that don’t like high school boys shoes, have some sort of feminine appeal that you can still control rudder pedals with… Happy to hear suggestions?
