- Salt and sugar are used as flavour enhancers in our food, but disproportionate consumption of both salt and sugar can lead to serious health problems in children. For babies, salt and sugar should be avoided as excessive consumption is harmful and can cause impaired kidney function, tooth decay, decreased immunity, etc.
This video will help you understand the reasons to avoid adding salt to a baby's diet. Salt and sugar can do more harm than good for children. Hence, it is better to avoid salt and sugar for babies until they turn one year old. Many commercial baby foods may also contain added sugars and are best avoided. Do check the ingredients carefully to determine the salt and sugar content if you use commercial baby food. Keep your baby healthy by giving homemade food without added salt or sugar!

This is so helpful for me but im kinda sad that i cannot implement this on my own baby because my in-laws wont listen to me and will tell me that they have been there before, they are more experienced, and ofc theyre older than me😢
Same with me.

I’m Ghanaian and it’s the same with me …my in-laws didn’t even allow me to do exclusive breastfeeding. They stared giving my baby water at 4 months without my knowledge.
Same with me
I agree with this except I believe REAL salt is always fine in moderation for any age.
