i bleached my hair blonde and my roots have been growing out for a while now, i want it healthy and i wanna have a medium brown, would it succeed in just one session if i go to a professional?
Hi there! Thank you for all of the info! My hair is a level 12 due to a ton of bleaching. I would like to use Matrix 4n hair color. What color filler should I use since I have super light hair? Thank you!
@@beachinhonolulu5136 I would recommend to first go to dark blonde. That's what I am doing right now. After a few weeks it will turn a lot lighter, but I believe you should go darker step by step and not to brown at once.
I have a question so I have a balayage done to a really light blonde strands so would I try to only put red on those strands or can I pretty much touch my whole hair with the red? And if so how soon after can I dye it black?
I dyed my hair dark brown from bleached blonde, the color ended up really well even though they have some patches. Should I be worried that my hair will start turning greenish after washing them a couple of times?
I want to dye my hair black, (my natural hair color is dark brown) but in September 2018 I did highlights at a professional salon. Now I have blonde strokes in my hair. Should I dye it red at first and then put the black hair dye in my hair? Thank you!
Do u think it worth the time and money do due brown hair a nice chocolate at the salon Or should I just do it at home And if I do it at home What’s the best brand to buy?
HI Nick~ Great Pro Tips :-) *including as much detail as possible so that you can give as accurate of suggestions/instructions as possible for me and whomever else may need this. ** How about this scenario~ My natural born-with-it hair colour is a very intense, deep dark brunette; not black, but very Irish Celtic Deep Dark Brunette and I carry the red hair gene, so in the light it always had multi-tones like red and some deep purples. I just started to get some greys; maybe an 1/8 - 1/4 inch of the hair but of course it was in very obviously visible places like my part-line, crown, and temples. Root touch ups were worthless and faded or washed out quickly I believe due to heavily chlorinated/ chemical/heavy metal tap water so I quit trying to cover it. One feature I have always been identified with is my naturally dark, silky, shiny, fine and medium volume, long, healthy hair. ~My son's solution for me was to follow his lead and go Ultra Bleached Ash Blonde like he did. The first round was pure bleaching with L'Oreal Quick Blue Powder bleach and a 30 Volume developer after mega conditioning. Of course I had 'hot roots' and pretty much looked like a tiger deep orange red only on the hot spots- roots, hairline, crown. I wore a hat for 2 weeks so my fine hair was not so damaged for the next Round of processing. This time we used the Quick Blue Bleach and a 20 developer ONLY on the Tiger Red parts. 3rd processing was a couple of weeks later and we used the Quick Blue Bleach with a 20 vol. developer on the entire head of hair. Ok; this whole time we were told to ONLY be using the Shimmer Lights Purple Shampoo and Conditioner to keep the hair this new pale yellow blonde. My hair was not 'my' silky shiny beautiful hair anymore though; it was very damaged even with intense Keratin Pak conditioning treatments and I did not like the Beachy Yellow Blonde Color. So- step 4 was to use the Wella Color Charm Toner and a mild volume developer; I think we used either the T14 or T 18 and FINALLY it worked!! my hair was a beautiful pale ash blonde not platinum, just really pretty. BUT once my own naturally deep dark brunette hair started growing out of course the natural RED tone in it along with its deep brunette colour emerged and looked stark and strange next to the sheer pale ash blonde the remainder of it was. The woman at the Sally Beauty supply said that 'all you need to do is Quick Blue Bleach the roots and only use a 20 volume developer and only leave it on 10-12 minutes and rinse it out, then a week or 2 later you can apply the Wella Color Charm Toner T14 or T18 on that part again. I did exactly as directed and my hair broke off at the roots in several places at the back of the crown and on top of my head; like really short on the top layer of hair but yes it worked and it did bleach out the regrowth of Red roots. Now here we are 5 months down the road from when I first started this Ultra Blonding process and I want my Natural Dark Brunette Hair Colour back AND I want to cover those grays; which actually came back multiplied after all of this blonding. ** I watched your videos on 'HOW TO FILL IN WITH RED SEMI OR DEMI PERMANENT COLOR' FIRST and then COLOUR IN WITH WHATEVER MY CHOSEN CHOICE MIGHT BE WHICH IN YOUR VIDEO WAS A 3N. Since I and many of us out here are not licensed cosmetologists and can't buy the Redken Shades EQ 6 CR to go back to Dark Brunette; what Colour Line(s) and Shades would you recommend for me/us when many of us shop at Sally Beauty or other beauty supply stores? I want to try the ZOtos Age Beautiful Line with their Bonding Developers because they say they have melanin and keratin and other helpful ingredients to help with aging hair. I would need the Red semi or demi permanent colour and whatever developer in a 5 or 10 vol. to fill in like you said then the 3N or whatever colour in Permanent + what level of developer to get my hair back to dark brunette. And most importantly- What color and what type and what level of developer do I use to cover or highlight the grays? ** Could I leave out some of the grays and ultra ash blonde before filling and coloring the hair and then go back over those areas with a lighter brown for 'highlights over the grays? Sort of a 3 Step process; Fill, COlour, Highlight? Thank you! Hope your reply can help lots of us :-)
No you need to get like a reddish brown I’m literally about to do this to my head this week. I have dark roots and like a brassy golden blonde ombré because I haven’t toned it in a while.. I don’t recommend box dye, so I’m going to Sally’s and am gonna get a mohagany brown or something close to that, that would have a bit of a reddish tint in it so that the green gets canceled out. And then from there if i want, I can get the dark brown or even black and it’ll look really nice and even. It’s very important to do a strand test too!
My anatomy doesn’t want me to be blonde. I get so brassy quickly even after toning. And when I go from blonde to my dark brown color I can do it myself without any green or hardly any fading! Must be those strong Latina and Italian genetics 😂
Girl yes! Latina here & I went from blonde to pitch black doing it myself a couple years ago but now that I'm blonde and going dark again I'm definitely going to a stylist since I'm wanting a dark balayage end result
My hair is platinum but every 4 weeks I go the hairstylist always keep messing up now my hair is short because I have to cut my hair every month do to the damage. Not sure why she can just dye my roots . Please help
Hair can be permenanly darkened and body hair thickened with progesterone overdose injection, but eye color stays blue. Also, hair turns darker during puberty due to progesterone and testosterone ( hormones that make you fertile)
okay, so i had dark brown hair and wanted to go blonde. i bleached it, it turned orange, and i just realized i don’t want blonde hair so i’m going back to dark brown. it’s currently brassy/orange. i am planning on getting box dye to do it this weekend, what colors do i get and how do i go about it?
Hi if you have a lot of orange in your hair still you should be able to go back to dark brown without filling it. But if you have some yellow in it , you can fill it with a warm light brown semi-permanent first then use the dark brown.
Great video! I have a gal coming on that has been using Sun In and wants to be a rich medium brown...thanks for the refresher! She will probably freak when she sees the filler tone lol
I would use a semi permanent color to fill. I wouldn’t use straight red, maybe a mix of a copper brown with a touch of red. Some where in the family of a level 6/7. If your going as dark as a level 3/4 .
My hair is naturally a darker blonde but I use L'Oreal 9.5 on it. I have brown eyes and want to try brown hair using an at-home color. I wonder if this is a terrible idea lol.
Usually I’m a hazel brown and decided one night to be the smart ass and decided to bleach my hair for a couple of laughs and now totally regret it so I wonder if I go to a professional or to a salon and have them dye my hair brown without all the steps and get it done in one treatment money ain’t an issue what would I ask them to do?

I also have a question about going back to dark hair. My natural hair color is dark brown and I have a bleached blonde balayage right now. Now I want to dye my hair a medium/dark ash brown color but I'm not sure what kind of filler they would have to use for an ashy color. I definitely don't want any red/orange undertones. I've sent pictures of my hair and the ash brown color I would like to achieve on instagram. Could you take a look please? I have an appointment tomorrow but I'd like some advice before going
Hi. I got babylights on my virgin black hair Now i used 30volume just on the babylights section and not the whole head. Then i used brown colour but its too light. I want to go back to black colour. Should i bleach it or just use a black hair dye. Thankyou
I have almost platinum blonde hair and it’s fading from a pastel purple and I’m trying to get to a light brown color. What would be best? My hair is also damaged, I just want to go back to my natural color.
Okay I got question I've bleach for year on the new grow .part only butt it snap off now in places ..what kind blondie I get that lott darker blondie .would save hair from snap more .I'm let my hairdreser do.it .would be wise on save my hair from.snap more .and still turn it muddied as well
Hi! I bleached my hair like 3 months ago and I want to go back to my dark color because my hair is damaged and I don’t like that, I want to ask you which red color do you recommend me to fill the missing pigments because I want to get a 5.0 as a final result Thank you ...
sir 15 days before I prelighted my clients hair for highlightening but my client doesn't happy with it.she want dark brown hair again.sir pl tell me what should I do it's very urgent pl reply.
From Sally's I bought a permanent midnight violet black that says it's 10 minute and says 2vv, I bought a 10 volume developer and a permanent high lift golden blond. Right now my hair is golden blond and the roots are showing. I'm wanting to use the black all over and use the blond for striping through out. Any advice on how to do this at home by myself so it turns out good? TIA
Can you fill blonde hair to a light brown with like redken 06GB since it has a gold / beige tone. Or a 7nb since it has 4 reds in the makeup of the tone? (Redken shades eq)
Nice video dear.. but i need 1 advice ..i colourd my hair into vibrant red.. but now i dont like this colour.. soo how can i get my natural hair colour back
If you look at my profile pic, that's my natural color. I'm currently blonde from a major OOPS trying highlights and want to go back dark. Its been a few months since I bleached my hair, so it's not in awful shape. Can I use a protein filler before I color it to achieve my natural color again and avoid that muddy mess? Would I use a 10v or 20v for this? I'm using Ion brand from Sally's. Thanks!
Hi. I would use a 10v for this, your only are depositing color. If the protein filler has pigment in it it should be fine. I’ll take a look at the ion color when I get a few. :)
@@nickmirabella1 Sounds good! Yes, the filler will turn my hair a orange/red color prior to applying the dye. I'm not doing this until later this week so I'll be checking back for any further info from ya. And Thank you so much! I just needed a simple answer and you've been the only person who has been kind enough to provide me with one. I have done this process before (because I'm a dumb dumb and never learn lol), but couldn't remember what strength developer I used in the past, it's been a few years. I appreciate your advice!
I just had my hair done yesterday (have very compromised hair) and asked the stylist if he would fill the hair first and he said it wasn't necessary. My hair was a bit grayish from doing what you described, and yet he didn't think it needed to be filled. Color came out great, but I'm wondering if it will last.
Well, color was a bit dark for me and the 5N makes my hair ashy so I ended up doing a very quick (2-3 min) bleach wash to make it a bit lighter. Then, I did a few lowlights in medium golden brown and it turned out great.
thank you! just a question.... my natural hair is dark brown-black and I bleached, dyed and toned it to the lighest levels of blonde. I have dyed my hair pink at home two weeks ago but it's fading out. after that im gonna dye purple over it. my roots are already quite long, I'd say around 3-4cm. my question is - after the pink-purple fades and im left with peachy blonde perhaps with maybe a few pink-purple leftovers, how do I dye my hair back to dark brown by myself? Do I have to dye it red and THEN brown, or just brown, and THEN red (if I end up with greenish hair.)?
I have a question i am at a level 9 trying to get to a level 4 or 5 can i add a demi red copper dye and then put on the level 5 on top because i know yellow and red makes orange will it neutralize it?
i know this vid is two years ago but i wanna ask if im dirty blonde and wanna go like chocolate medium brown do i have to fill in my hair? and what color to use?
Im a cool tones blonde with dark roots that is shadow faded in(Hope that makes sense)Ive always done my own hair at home and get good results. Going blonde took me about 5 months to get it where i wanted it and my hair isnt dry or brittle its very shiny and healthy-I am wanting to go back dark. Can you tell me what step i will need to take?
thanks for the tip , im currenty trying to get rid off my blond dyed hair , i have successfully got 3/4 of it out by letting it grow out naturally,,, the remaining 1/4 of it i would love to fix asap as my hair is now growing slower rate due to hypothyroidism,,,,,,, question is since my natural hair color is light brown with copper highlights ,, the copper highlights are totally natural ,,, so i am wondering is it ok to just dye the bottom of my hair to match the rest without having to use a fill in red pigment?
From personal experience, the hair from blonde to brown will go green. Thats why it is important to keep the colour chart in mind. I understand the process difficulty thats why i avoided a red base but it did go green from having the brown on the blonde. Im 5 months late but i hope this helps!
hey, so i got my hair done yesterday. it’s like a balayage grey blond, i had medium brown hair (2nd from the black) and i wanna go back to that colour please help me because i want my natural colour back :(
Hi Nick... i made the mistake of doing this to my hair after I got blond highlights that were to heavy... my hair is naturally dark brown and I covered over the bleach with semi permanent brown box hair color and my ends look like heavy mudd..... how can I fix it? Will I be able to have a professional coller correction in a few months? Thanks alot.... im from NJ and I would love to have you fix it for me.... il call your salon soon..
I bleached my hair and it’s brassy lighter brown now but I want to go back to my darker hair, will I need to just even out with blue and it won’t fade to green?
You should be ok just dying it back . you're not that light it seems like. If you want shoot me a pic of your hair to my IG @nickmirabella I will look and tell you better
@@nickmirabella1 hey I have the same doubt. I got half down portion of my hair bleached and light brown, which is now blonde. I want to bring it back to black which is my natural hair or a darker brown. How should I go about it?
@@sharwariphanse3322 Hi, can you shoot me a pic of your tone on my IG either at @brickandmirrorbeauty or @nickmirabella Depeding on how light you are you maybe able to do it at once.
Shriya Tyagi That's what the whole video was about. You can do pretty much anything you want to but doesn't mean it will not be green. I've done it before myself and got very lucky. Did it again and looked like swamp thing.
My hair is ombré dark brown at the top and blonde at the bottom it’s not super light but I want to dye my hair back to my natural dark brown color how can I do this without my hair turning green ?
I tried dying my brown hair with box dye and I got left with a really brassy colour, not light at all, just an orange-ish blonde. Will a brown dye do the job if my hair is orange-yellow-ish?
If I dye my hair dark over my level 9 bleached hair and decide I want to go back to being a level 9 again, how would I do so? Would you suggest just using a semi-permanent colour just incase?
mirandaarmanda a Demi permanent would be a better option. It will wash out after a few washes or you can wash it out with some developer and baking soda to wash the color out if you don’t like it. Hope this helps.
I got my hair died ombre and its dark brown at the top which is all natural and at above shoulder length it goes into blonde and its not blended well and its kinda gross colour, how can i die my hair at the bottom brown again without it going green?
I had the bottom of my hair lightened last year so I could dye it purple. Now a year later I have the lighter Brown blonde hair Except where my roots grow out. My question is the lightest section at the tips of my hair is blonde with like a hint of barely there green. how do i counter that. I bought Dark Natural Brown, Raspberry Brownie and Dark Bourbon Truffle
I'm growing my highlights out and got alot of natural colour I asked my hairdresser who is my friend and she said I could use a semi permanent dye as long ad it has warmth in it like red or mahogany I'm a little scared but I dont want bleach any more as its thinned my hair so much . Is this gonna be safe
Wow. Finally. I type in “blonde to brown” and get a bunch of brown to blonde videos. Thank you
Same problem here

I have a question so I have a balayage done to a really light blonde strands so would I try to only put red on those strands or can I pretty much touch my whole hair with the red? And if so how soon after can I dye it black?
Question!!!!???? How do you add these pigments back. Are you saying color your hair a red shade before going brown? So confusing. 😆
Hi! Watch part 2 - if you are going real dark to blonde you will have to add the pigment back . Part 2 shows you how I do it.
I dyed my hair dark brown from bleached blonde, the color ended up really well even though they have some patches. Should I be worried that my hair will start turning greenish after washing them a couple of times?
No. It will turn Greenish when you color it back. If it didn’t you should be safe. It may fade faster if you didn’t fill it.
Which dye did you use?
I want to dye my hair black, (my natural hair color is dark brown) but in September 2018 I did highlights at a professional salon. Now I have blonde strokes in my hair. Should I dye it red at first and then put the black hair dye in my hair? Thank you!

So my hair is naturally dark brown but I dyed it honey blonde but want to go back to my dark brown, what should I do?
Thank you so much!
Why aren’t roots growing out. I used semi permanent and it has been 5 months
Thank you, very informative and makes sense
Do u think it worth the time and money do due brown hair a nice chocolate at the salon
Or should I just do it at home

Hi! I bleached my hair like 3 months ago and I want to go back to my dark color because my hair is damaged and I don’t like that, I want to ask you which red color do you recommend me to fill the missing pigments because I want to get a 5.0 as a final result
Thank you ...
Can you shoot me a pic to my IG or on here in a dm.
I have yellow orange type of colour... I want to make it less yellow or brown... What color do I use?
sir 15 days before I prelighted my clients hair for highlightening but my client doesn't happy with it.she want dark brown hair again.sir pl tell me what should I do it's very urgent pl reply.
How light are her highlights now?
From Sally's I bought a permanent midnight violet black that says it's 10 minute and says 2vv, I bought a 10 volume developer and a permanent high lift golden blond. Right now my hair is golden blond and the roots are showing. I'm wanting to use the black all over and use the blond for striping through out. Any advice on how to do this at home by myself so it turns out good? TIA
Can you fill blonde hair to a light brown with like redken 06GB since it has a gold / beige tone. Or a 7nb since it has 4 reds in the makeup of the tone? (Redken shades eq)
Nice video dear.. but i need 1 advice ..i colourd my hair into vibrant red.. but now i dont like this colour.. soo how can i get my natural hair colour back
If it's permanent the only way is to dye it back to your natutal colour.
I appreciate your advice!
is it okay to get brown from bleached hair?
Thank you ! I have a medium brown (light brunette) hair right now. Is it fine if I just dye it black directly?
Sure is. Unless you have a few highlights or really light pieces in it you’ll be ok.
Yeah , that should be totally cool .
Can i use black hair color to cover highlight?
I just had my hair done yesterday (have very compromised hair) and asked the stylist if he would fill the hair first and he said it wasn't necessary. My hair was a bit grayish from doing what you described, and yet he didn't think it needed to be filled. Color came out great, but I'm wondering if it will last.
Lpg 8 let us know please!
Well, color was a bit dark for me and the 5N makes my hair ashy so I ended up doing a very quick (2-3 min) bleach wash to make it a bit lighter. Then, I did a few lowlights in medium golden brown and it turned out great.
What do if your dark blonde and want a cool tone level 4?
thank you! just a question.... my natural hair is dark brown-black and I bleached, dyed and toned it to the lighest levels of blonde.
Thank you very much!
Well this helped alot
you're welcome :-)
I have a question i am at a level 9 trying to get to a level 4 or 5 can i add a demi red copper dye and then put on the level 5 on top because i know yellow and red makes orange will it neutralize it?
Thank you!
i know this vid is two years ago but i wanna ask if im dirty blonde and wanna go like chocolate medium brown do i have to fill in my hair? and what color to use?
Can you shoot me a pic to IG @nickmirabella?
Im a cool tones blonde with dark roots that is shadow faded in(Hope that makes sense)Ive always done my own hair at home and get good results. Going blonde took me about 5 months to get it where i wanted it and my hair isnt dry or brittle its very shiny and healthy-I am wanting to go back dark. Can you tell me what step i will need to take?
I would follow the instruction in part 2 of this video .. the link is in the description. :-)
@@nickmirabella1 Watching now! Thanks
thanks for the tip , im currenty trying to get rid off my blond dyed hair , i have successfully got 3/4 of it out by letting it grow out naturally,,, the remaining 1/4 of it i would love to fix asap as my hair is now growing slower rate due to hypothyroidism,,,,,,, question is since my natural hair color is light brown with copper highlights ,, the copper highlights are totally natural ,,, so i am wondering is it ok to just dye the bottom of my hair to match the rest without having to use a fill in red pigment?
From personal experience, the hair from blonde to brown will go green. Thats why it is important to keep the colour chart in mind. I understand the process difficulty thats why i avoided a red base but it did go green from having the brown on the blonde. Im 5 months late but i hope this helps!
How do you add the pigment back to dark
Hi! Watch part two :) in the link above
hey, so i got my hair done yesterday. it’s like a balayage grey blond, i had medium brown hair (2nd from the black) and i wanna go back to that colour please help me because i want my natural colour back :(
Hi! Shoot me a pic to my IG @brickandmirrorbeauty :)
Hi Nick... i made the mistake of doing this to my hair after I got blond highlights that were to heavy... my hair is naturally dark brown and I covered over the bleach with semi permanent brown box hair color and my ends look like heavy mudd..... how can I fix it? Will I be able to have a professional coller correction in a few months? Thanks alot.... im from NJ and I would love to have you fix it for me.... il call your salon soon..
Hi! :) can you shoot me a message on IG @nickmirabella so we can set it up.
Hi, if I am blonde and I want to be a dark grey? Like a level 6, should I follow the same steps?
No def not , you will need to be as light as possible for the Grey to look Grey
I bleached my hair and it’s brassy lighter brown now but I want to go back to my darker hair, will I need to just even out with blue and it won’t fade to green?
You should be ok just dying it back . you're not that light it seems like. If you want shoot me a pic of your hair to my IG @nickmirabella I will look and tell you better
Brick and Mirror Beauty alright thank you!
@@nickmirabella1 hey I have the same doubt. I got half down portion of my hair bleached and light brown, which is now blonde. I want to bring it back to black which is my natural hair or a darker brown. How should I go about it?
@@sharwariphanse3322 Hi, can you shoot me a pic of your tone on my IG either at @brickandmirrorbeauty or @nickmirabella Depeding on how light you are you maybe able to do it at once.
can i do this without adding pigment
You could , but you risk fading after a few shampoos , also you risk turning greenish .
Shoot me a few pics of goals and what you have now . on IG @brickandmirrorbeauty
How do I do copper to brown??! 😭
Does it wash off easily with showers? Like, how easily does the blonde peak through?
If you do it right its brown again forever
I tried dying my brown hair with box dye and I got left with a really brassy colour, not light at all, just an orange-ish blonde. Will a brown dye do the job if my hair is orange-yellow-ish?
You should be ok , using a brown on top of the brassy color. It still has enough warm tones in it to keep it rich.
Hope this helps.
sarah delgado yes that’s super helpful!! Thank you! 💕
I have platinum and brown highlights do I still need to put a red tone on my hair
The platinum will def get muddy on you. You’re def going to want to fill them. Check out my other video In the description.
Brick and Mirror Beauty what about if I dyed my hair a chestnut color ?
Erica Rios you can always test a piece of the platinum and see how it comes out. If it’s looks good , then do the whole head.
I got my hair died ombre and its dark brown at the top which is all natural and at above shoulder length it goes into blonde and its not blended well and its kinda gross colour, how can i die my hair at the bottom brown again without it going green?
Can you dm me a pic of your hair so I can give you a game plan?
My hair is ombré like a copper orange colour, if I put dark brown over the top of the copper will it go green?
You will be ok. It will turn green when you’re a little blonder.
Brick and Mirror Beauty so do I dye just the ends where it is copper? Or my full head, the top of my head is dark brown
Astavy08 hmmm is the dark bourbon truffle darker then your roots ?
do i use a 10 developer?
I went from bleached to dark brown and my hair is now straight black...
Oh no. If you want send me pics to @brickandmirrorbeauty I’ll help you out
Brick and Mirror Beauty on Instagram or where?
@@hannahmarie6646 on IG works or email me nick@brickandmirrobeauty.com
my hair is a pale pink idk if it will turn muddy green
You should def fill it. Lol may not turn muddy green but def muddy. it will also keep it from fading bad.
Hi. Yes you should def be ok using a semi, you're just depositing color. It's the lifting of color that can cause the damage.
@@nickmirabella1 thankyou so much for getting back to me if I like like semi permanent I can then use the same colour in the permanent to ?
Rachel B .. of course, I test colors with semi all time.
What about if your just putting ash brown on it?
Nooooo! Yellow plus ash (blue) = green ,
i heard you can use brown hair color with golden/copper/red tones in it !
Can I use the Wella cinnamon brown the wella dark ash brown to get to brown
How light are you right now ?
Light ash blonde
But it has grown out a lot
