As a hairdresser, I have been doing my own hair for more than 10 years. Fully foiled head, long, and thick, natural level 7!! I use 3 mirrors to do the back, it's difficult, but years of practice have made it easier. It definitely is a struggle and hours of work!!
Lol I live in Florida in the USA & I can tell you most here don’t do as good as she did & she DID HER OWN HAIR. Extremely impressive. Her hair looks gorgeous. 💎💎💎👍🏼😊
This proves my point how important it is to not overlap. A professional hairdresser who won best stylist in the area overlapped, lied when I asked if she was overlapping, started in the back and let it cook the entire time and by the time it was washed out my hair was cotton. Had to cut it all off. All because of OVERLAP!!!!! I was helpless because she wasn’t listening and just kept lying about what she did to my hair. I protect my hair in everything I do so this was devastating. Her cop out was “this is what happens when you bleach hair” which of course is not true. I had my hair bleached for ten years and that stylist knew what she was doing so it never broke off.
You mean that she was placing "new" bleach on the bleach she just applied on the back? After lets say an hour? Because that is what happend to me too, is that called overlapping? Also I've got a lot of highlights, lets say 50 procent of my hair, and the rest is still med brown, how on earth could I get those brown hairs lighter?
YOU ARE INSANE!!! This came out gorgeous. I'm not sure if you mentioned if you're a professional hairdresser or not, but the time you put into this and taking your time! That's the part people miss. If you're going to do your own hair, just take your time!!! Even if it's foiling one section, waiting, then rinsing out or something. Looks amazing
You did amazing! It looks incredible. I just went dark from my blonde. I absolutely love blonde but my hair is almost black naturally and I want my hair very long and thick and I think that is even more beautiful
Yesss it’s soo nice to go back to your natural after being blonde for a whole! Best feeling 💕 the upkeep of having dark brown roots against your blonde hair must’ve been a nightmare!
This was fascinating, not only your understanding of the foil and slice placement on your head and how the bleached hair would fall, but also how calm you stayed during the process and managed to keep tabs on exactly when you did each part and which to take out! panicking and leaving different sections in for too long can all make self-bleaching so difficult, I only ever did my own blonde for 4 years after learning from UA-cam, and after watching many "I bleached my hair at home!" This was the most complex but also the most well executed! It's one thing to have a plan and idea in your head, but you really stuck to it and it came out perfectly! I'm so so impressed with your control and again the timing of taking out and rinsing each section to make it all even!
I wrote this before I got to the part where you said you're a professional LOL But literally -everything- still stands! you stayed so calm, it's so easy to panic just because of how LONG it takes to do your own hair, and I have no idea how you had such a level of control over the back of your head and control over the bleach working in a mirror! I'm so so so impressed.
Well done!! It looks so fresh from the salon, and it suits you so much. And, as someone who has tried multiple times to go blonde at home, and failed most times - with this tutorial I would be confident to try again! Absolutely gorgeous! :)
Hey pretty girl, just found this by chance . I'm a qualified hairdresser myself and I think it's easy to see that you are a professional ☺️ you have done amazing 👏 I always highlight my own hair too but leave out the bottom most of the time and do single foils down there, but I think it gave me inspiration to get lighter again 😂 I know how hard it is to do it on ourselves and totally different than on a client 😂 Thank you for sharing
Wow this is the best at home bleaching video I have ever seen. A few minutes in I guessed that you must be a professional hairdresser because what you were doing looked SO satisfyingly good haha Love the result! :)
Your video was the first video I've seen out of all the "do it at home" videos that did everything perfect. You didn't rush through any of the applying of the lightner to your hair and the time you took to explain each of the steps you took were so well done and easy to follow. When you finished, I was completely speechless. You're hair was gorgeous!! The only video that deserves PERFECT to describe it! WOW!!
Omg this makes me confident in bleaching my own hair! I’ve done it before but I’ve never felt way to doing it feel more “natural”, I think this will work for me. Thank you for this omg!
The whole time I waited for you to come out as a hairstylist 😂 The root stretch is a game changer so don’t worry about any harsh line inbetween. They’ll grow out softer anyways without being too visible 🎉
Gorgeous! It really brightens your face. I just did a partial around my face the other day. Hadn’t done it in a year or so, it turned out really good with all my natural growth.
@@Rachelmckeown I did it myself, it was an absolute workout, i just toned the blonde but gonna do a 7/1 on the root for a bit of a smudge on my next wash lol x
I didn’t read any negative comments except one saying she liked the darker better on her. Still not a negative comment. Just preference. Unless I’m missing something.
I’m growing my hair out but I want blonde hair as a treat (lol) when I’m at my desired length in a year or two, so I’m going to come back to this video when the time comes! I’ve bleached my hair about 100 times but it’s been a year so I don’t feel as confident anymore, but watching this definitely helped with some anxieties I had about doing it at home :)
You really did a great job. It is so good to see, there are hairdresser who know what they do. I wish some of my students in cosmetology school would work as professional as you do.
Thanks so much for showing how to highlight the back. You are such a great teacher. You figured it out. Telling us the the pitfalls along the way. Your results are wonderful on you.

This is the best video I’ve ever seen on UA-cam of someone bleaching their own hair. Well done! It looks really good and blended. The blonde looks great on you and I think you could pull off any color imo 💗
1. When do you use Olaplex part 1? 2. How much of the Loreal Studio Blond and how much developer you use to mix it up? 3. How much time do leave your hair to develop the color?

It came out so beautiful btw well done and excellent technique

I literally can't BELIEVE you got it that light with just a 20 vol!!! I have dark brown hair that I regularly bleach to platinum and, even using a 40 vol developer, it still takes me atleast a couple bleaching sessions and a literal SHIT TON of bonding treatments to get it as light as I want it
I think it depends how much warmth you have in your hair naturally, my mums a natural blonde so I think my undertone is naturally quite ashy so it lifts really well!
@@Rachelmckeownyaaa my hair definitely pulls a lot of warmer tones...... Plus I always use a bonding add-in, such as Ion Absolute Perfection Step 1 or BondBar Recovery Booster, and whenever you use those products with your bleach mixture, they actually bring down your developer strength by about 10 levels..... Which means if I were to use a 20 volume developer, it'd basically work as a 10 volume developer after adding in those bond repair mix-ins. I usually use a 40 volume since that way I'm getting at least the strength of a 30 volume
I’m a professional stylist and about 3 mins in I was like there’s no way you don’t do this for a living lol then I read the description lol professional or not, you did an amazing job cuz as we know, diy is not always easy haha
I feel so fed up with going and spending hundreds to thousands of dollars for so-called high end salons to damage the integrity of my hair. It has grown out 4 inches and I’m seeing hair growing back from places that I didn’t even remember I had! That is the result of them frying my hair off. You inspired me to try this. Fingers crossed and thank you.❤

Hello, in what ratio did you mix Studio 8 and the developer? And how far do I have to put the mixture on my foils... right up to the scalp?
I’m a professional stylist and about 3 mins in I was like there’s no way you don’t do this for a living lol then I read the description lol professional or not, you did an amazing job cuz as we know, diy is not always easy haha
Hahaha thank you, yeah this was not easy :)
