I had this done with my hair a few months ago when I was done with keeping up with the blonde. I prefer a very neutral/ashy level 6 on top and my lengths are blonde. Looks very cute!
I should have watched this video before taking my hair from blonde to bronde. I used a similar array of colors as you did but tried to apply in more of a gradient, all in one sitting (6N to 7N on my bottom half, 6N to 7N to 8N on the section above that, and then 7N to 8N on the top half and pieces around my face). i got a similar result except mine looks a bit dull and muddy. i thought that with my brassy blonde and not going dark brown that i didn’t need to fill. that color looks great on your client!
Katie in the Countryside Oh for sure! I know it’s kinda intimidating adding warmth in because I don’t want it brassy but it doesn’t end up brassy and it’s necessary for it to look vibrant and last longer! I totally get that! Thank you so much for watching ☺️
I am going in to get this done next week and I'm so nervous they will say they can't do it. I had to book online and I booked a balayage appointment. I just hope they can blend out my high lights nicely and match my natural roots well
Hi. This is gorgeous, I have someone wanting similar, so just double checking I have it right, the foils were Babylights using the root colour ?? .. and then once you washes that off you did a root drag again? .. how come you did a root drag after the root and foil application? .. snd then you washed that off and did the toner? I have never done a revers balayage but this is exactly what my client is looking for .. just want to make sure I have it right , thanks x
Very nice result. Would have been nice to see how she separated the hair with the comb before putting colour as close up. Also, putting instructions in the video. Was the orange cream a toner? What was that?
you can fill it separately or you can add the warmth to fill in the formula that you mix up. goldwell tends to run warm so adding in the g is me technically filling it :)
It's great but doesn't it lose its balayage points of light 😮sorry if I don't know what I'm saying. The look now to me seems more highlights on a base of light brown / dark blonde maybe which is equally 👍
I completely fried my hair with blonde box and then Super blonde box right after so now I have silver and gray brown coming back in and white on my temples and yellow/slightly orangie bleach at mostly all over my ends hair during covid. So I was just wondering if there's a slightly littlest darker because I am naturally dark brown Biolage exactly like you did it with this gorgeous Hair of the lucky girl you just did.I don't know if you could tell me the numbers and what to do regarding toning because I can't afford to any hair styling plus I'm not in Arizona or I would sure be sitting down with you and asking you these questions in person and have you absolutely doing my hair this was the most gorgeous thing I've ever seen it's just so gorgeous and she is so pretty as well the girl. Most sincerely, fried blonde bleached silver brown gray white hair girl. LOL I guess. thanks so for putting this out I really appreciate it gives me incentive and hope 🙏
You did a beautiful job! I find it so annoying when the clients scroll through their phones while getting their hair done. I had a hairdresser once who was on her phone most of the time, she was doing my hair. Just disrespectful unless it's an important call.
Yes I know the feeling and when you doing foils and they looking down on their phone it's so hard to do the top of their hair especially when you short
@@elia_simon Yes they can but when they looking down and the hairdresser is foiling on the top it makes it hard but I just move their head up or I tell them to look up and then they do they same at the basin when you washing the hair and then they get wet
@@melp2707 I have foiled my adult daughter's hair and it is frustrating to do her hair because she can't stay off her phone. I am constantly having to tell her to look up, look down, turn sideways. I would probably be done in half the time if she'd get off that phone! When I used to get my hair done, I never had my phone out. I do my own hair now.
Love the end result, just want my hair look the same! What toner did you use? Edit: I watched again, it’s 8GB 😊 thank you for this informative video ❤️
Hello, the root color is that the same color as the low light? Is that mixt with 3%?. An the shade is that the 9+8 color? Sorry I’m from the Netherlands 🤗.
I’m going to be doing this to my hair. I was a hairdresser years ago. I’m using colorance as well. Did you mix the 9GB and 8GB with the 7N and 6N or was the 9GB and 8GB the toner that went over the blonde to blend it?
4:18 I’m watching a video of a lady get her hair done who’s watching a video of a lady get her face done 🤣 awesome job btw I’m going darker this week I’m excited!
I know many other have asked this question and I tried to read as many comments to see if I would come across the answer but what level developer did you used 10,20,30, 40, ? And what level should a peros. With a level 3-4 blonde used ? Thank you so much for your patience and help 😊😌🌸
Maria Rodriguez like if they were going from black hair to brown? Yeah I suppose you could! I personally don’t like to alter natural bases a lot because of the upkeep but yeah you could that! As long as your highlift is the same level as the lowlight so there’s no disconnect 😊 and applied so that the highlift doesn’t touch the lowlights you put in cause it’ll lift that and harm the integrity of their hair. I hope that made sense 🤣
My stylist toned my prelightened hair with a number 7 so do I need to mix in a warmer shade with a 6N if I'm trying to darken the top and blend in my roots?
So can I do this and free hand paint pieces that are left out ?? Just to lift them 2 levels lighter but I want to add dimension as well .. is that a possible technique ?
Did you use Demi permanent on the roots or permanent color? I’m going to be doing something like this soon and I was going to use Demi on the roots but wanted to know if using permanent color would be better?
Carlyn Champion yes I use demi so it’s easier to lift out if she wants to go blonde again. I used goldwell colorance but 1 to 1 ratio so it was more pigmented!
I have a client that wants to go from blonde 2 this but my Question is was colours do u use as I don’t use the same products that in this video ,plus she has really really thick hair. Can anyone help ?xx
Hi, you did an amazing job! A reverse balayage is alot more difficult than most people think. My only question is I'm pretty sure you said you were going to add a few babylights and it looks like you did around the face but I didn't see you doing them. Did you? If so what formula did you use and where did you add them? Thanks for the great tutorial!
Cathy Howell thank you so so much! I should’ve phrased it as baby lows, I didn’t use any lightener on her hair. I left out her front pieces which were already blonde ☺️ sorry about that!
I was also curious, maybe I missed it, but did you tone the blonde that was left out? I wasn't sure I've been wondering if you could but a blonde toner over a freshly done brown, like without really sectioning?
Is that hair color brand cruelty free? I'm currently not a professional I'm just learning how to do this at home until I go to beauty school next year.
Is there a possible way to do this without coloring the roots? I want to do this but without coloring my roots, just kind of melt the bottom color (which will be a bit brighter than my natural hair that's on roots of course).
Hi! For the money peice did you just leave it out the whole time and then tone it at the end? I’m doing this on someone tomorrow and just confused on what do with the money peice, thanks!
Yes so since her money piece was pretty high up still I just left it out but if it’s grown out you can go ahead and lighten the money piece and smudge it a little bit towards the end! 🙌🏼
Love this! Thank you! I still don't know how you don't get spots on the blonde because whenever I do this technique I have to wipe the comb constantly before sectioning. Thank you!!

Since her hair is so porous I wasn’t too concerned about hitting it with the demi color because it’d wash right out or I could just take some 10 vol and lightener and get it out 😋 I wiped off the comb quite a bit too!
