I just want to extend my Thank you, for taking the time to make these videos. They are so educational and helpful to beginners in the simplest form. Cosmetology Graduate 2022.
I went to a professional stylist to color my blonde hair a dark chocolate brown. While sitting in the chair as color processed the dye started to run down my face. 3 days and $175 later I started to see blonde patches showing through the dark brown... so I stripped the dark brown off and dyed it back to medium blonde. I knew about the hair filler but I also assumed since she was a professional that she did too! When I dye my hair at home it never runs!! I'm finished with salons and throwing my money down the drain!! 😢
The last time I went to a salon it was so bad that I decided that I just do my own hair. I have medium brown hair and have a few grays I want to cover. I use Wella 5N and 10vol. On the roots only. Turned out great 👍
@@tia2all501 age, beautiful hair color works really really good to cover gray. I just use it with 10 volume developer. It’s absolutely gorgeous hair color.
I’ve been doing here for 36 years and I agree with you for some reason. I am so stumped. I am going to send you three pictures. The first two pictures are what it is now exactly the third picture is the desired color. I was going to fill it with an endG, but I think I need to add some red to it for some reason I think I am thinking too much and how to do this
Oh my gawd thank you gf! I’ve watched so many videos on this topic that has the hairdresser just squirting the red and the brown colors into the same bowl and brushing it on. Thanks for letting us know that this is a multiple step process! Wish me luck! ❤😂
This was quite literally the most informative, easiest tutorial for color filling I could find on the entirety of Lucifer's internet! Thank you so much for making this so digestible! I look forward to delving into more of your content! 👏👏👏 I'm a follower now!
This is such a good video! I've been looking for a good explanation for years - I dye my hair, and the highlights went slightly green. I'm now confident on how to fix it. Thank you x
Thank you for this....I'm currently not living in the States and the salons where I am don't tone highlights and they use 'natural' dyes when doing hair color. After my last disaster of getting my greys blended (and terrible highlights), I've asked multiple times to get my hair taken back to dark brown and each salon told me it 'wasn't possible' and my hair would either be orange or green. Now I know why - they either don't know about or don't do fillers. I plan to do this by myself at home and your video helped explain the process. Thank you!
Thanks for the awesome video and explaining the color theory steps. I have dirty blonde/going grey hair that will go very pale blonde with level 20 developer and bleach in 3o minutes. Needless to say, it's a bit too blonde. I was curious if I put a level 7 or 8 blonde on it what would happen. You answered my question at the end of the video. I thoroughly enjoy watching both of your channels.
God bless you!! I’m so serious! I wish I would have found this video three months ago 😢 but after watching you explain this so clearly I am much more confident to fix my slime colored hair😂😂
Great tips , Brittany, 🤩 i have dark blonde at the moment but want to go to a light brown, so i probably will need the protein filler , i dont want to make the mistake of green hair again 😁
I love this type of video!! With the swatches and what it’s supposed to look like. I’ve accidentally turned my hair green going from platinum to a 6 level. So I went and got a 7G and a 6n (several years ago when Wella had those blue boxes of toners and the “dedicated developer” for the toner which I know. It was like. A 6-7vol but now that I’ve got these silvers coming in fast I usually make a 15 vol and still get away with using demi. Could you do more videos with the swatches? Like showing what a darker level 4-6 and then getting it to a 9 and then showing the differences of using using just ashy toner and showing one that has the gold/ash/neutral which makes for a beautiful color. I’ve tried to explain to my daughter that the ashy color is actually not as bright, due to science. I mean if there more yellow (but a pleasing color it cat oiss yellow lol) there’s more for there to have light refract off of the hairs surface. And Ash doesn’t refract light. It’s still beautiful color on her but I think she would look good with a mix of both or all 3 types. Hopefully this made sense if not it in wrong I greatly apologize
Hello, Brittnee ,excellent video . After I have lightened my hair to a level 10 , I apply a level 10 haircolor but the haircolor fades very quickly after a few washes. I know that you said you do not need a filler with a level 10 haircolor so what can I do to keep the haircolor from fading so quickly. Please ,tell me. Thank you ,in advance.
it’s in my next video (will be out next friday) but the answer is a protein filler- it’s a clear filler that fills hair to make colors last longer and look more even
I love your videos. They are sooooo informative and helpful! I have a level 10, yellow, and want to neutralise it to a cool ashy level 9 or 8. You’d just recommend I tone it?
@karaokegirl1999 Ugh Sorry! I personally look best with lighter colored hair, so I want to lighten it again, but not by using bleach. I'll probably just go to a salon. Best of luck.
Hi, I’ve just gone through this process from level 8 copper to level 6 brunette. I did copper and red filler. And use semi colour 6 chocolate gold all over, but ends got darker and the final result doesn’t look rich pigmented at all. How to go lighter at the ends without using bleach according the hair is very damaged. Thanks
can you do a video for us brunettes that are a natural 5/6 but HATE the orange/red colors we get as the color fades and also have grey to cover at the roots.
Is there a way you can place color fill on blonde highlights only without touching the rest of the hair, And get even color? Anyways I also wanted to tell you the Jesus loves you! No matter what you go through He is there in the good and the bad. He desires a deep relationship with each one of us.
Me watching this MONTHS later with intentional dark green hair that is fading trying to see how to get it to black 😅 so apply some red then the dark color…🤞🏾
You are so wonderful. I knew just who to come find for my question of doing this in reverse way to get to 9 or 10. I recently started following you cause you’re such a good teacher. So my question is what if you want to go from Level 6ish or 7 to level 9 or 10 and you want to just skip all the orange and red stage just wipe it out like you’re just sick of getting stuck at the orange and red bus stop while trying to reach the blonde bus stop😱. What’s a formula to just cancel out all the reds and oranges along the way in one shot I am an old schooler here so we played with lots of color in my days and we cut through the colors 🥰so I already wrote out a formula and I want to perfect it on Zoe first (AKA my 20 yr old mannequin 🥰still hanging in there) so I want to know what another Expert thinks. Any help would be appreciated lovely 🤗 Thanks in advance.

That was very helpful, as usual thanks! Needed to know can’t we use the(according to your example), say 4NN with the 7RR together? Won’t it give the result? Cause if I were doing highlights how would I manage to pick the same hair which was turned red to apply the number 4. I hope you understand what I’m saying.
Hi Teacher! I love your videos! If I have like 2 inches of dark blonde/brown growth and the rest is a 9/10, can I apply the red on the whole head or just the blonde? I’m always checking you out 🤣🤣🤣. 😘
Hi Brittnee! Thank you so much for making this video! Quick question… I want to do the same exact thing that you showed in this video, my hair is currently blonde level 10, but my roots have grown out and they are light brown. Do I need to bleach my roots first and then apply the red filler or can I go straight with the red filler with most of my hair being blonde and roots light brown? Thank you so much in advance!! ❤️
So what I’m hearing is that I could have just dyed my brown over my red lol. At this point it’s sort of pinkish/orangey so I guess my next takeaway is that I shouldn’t wait for it to wash out and just do the brown over it to skip a step lol. Now Sally’s gave me 20? Should I go exchange it for a 10?
Hi Brittnee ❤I have blonde balayage on brown, I’ve been letting it grow out for about a year. I had a severe allergic reaction when I had my hair dyed with chemicals and I want to get all of my hair back to brown naturally can I follow this method using henna? Applying a red henna first and then a brown henna after? I have heard that henna and chemical dyed hair also react 🙊 Could you help this girl out? 😅 Thank you for your content 🤗✨
So I didn’t know this and my hair turned a little bit green, but it’s also washing out a bit. Is there a way to reverse this? If I wanted to get back to maybe more of a Sandy Brown color instead of the blonde I had before
How do you get red filler out permanently? My colorist bleach too much of my hair. So she opted to add red filler and then a brown semi dark brown .. it was still really red showing through so she then added a permanent dark brown which resulted in jet black hair. After 2 weeks the red is really showing through … how do I get rid of it? Please HELP 😢
I have a question. My hair was a level 10 and I decided to put a level 7 mushroom blonde a few weeks ago. There is a slight green like your video. I want to go to a level 5. Would I still use the red filler first? Im nervous that my hair will turn a different color since I did not do the red first
yes you can fix it, apply a color with red in it. Preferably a demi permanent color like Shades EQ or sally's has the Generic brand for shades eq. Find what level your hair is now (1-10; 1= black, 10= brightest blonde). If it's a level 5 for example (medium brown) you'll need to apply a color that is 1-2 shades lighter and has red in it. 6R + 6N (equal parts) plus processing solution. Red cancels out green so it will give you a nice neutral color or a warmer based color. You mix it in equal parts with N (neutral) so it doesn't turn too red.
@@brittneealexushair thank you so much for replying! I am going to attempt the fix tomorrow. I’ll be happy to have the green tint gone but if I don’t love the color it ends up being (I’d like to go pretty dark brown), how long should I wait before coloring again? My hair feels strong and healthy, just wondering if there is a time frame you recommend in between colorings to fix mistakes. Thank you again!
Hey 👋🏻 if I, as a natural level 6/7 light brown who wants to be level 8 blonde, use a permanent colour no 8 with blue/violet undertones (+vol 20) would that counteract the orange tones or be a hot mess? 😅
I'm in the middle right now, i have red hair that has faded to an orangish red. level one roots (my natural color) with grey in the roots as well. I'm trying to go back to my natural level one. Should i just go straight in with the black dye?
If I'm understanding her correctly, you would still need to fill if you want it to look natural and not fade out overly fast. Not sure what level you are but it's going to fall within 5, 6, or 7. You'd need something like a level 3G (green.) Otherwise it might fade to a dark copper or burgundy, or even purple fairly quickly. And then do the level 1.
You explain this better than anyone - ( I was raised in a beauty shop) I’ve done my own hair for years-) thank you - -
