The concept of keeping the elbow behind their back is the piece of the puzzle I’ve been missing. I’ve been getting into this position but with the mindset of “the deeper the grip the better” and my training partners have said that it feels like a crank more than a choke. Hopefully this is the tweak that I’ve been missing. Appreciate it man!

Thank you for teaching "what part of the wrist" to use. I ALWAYS have to ask my coach this question because sometimes in class he kinda takes these things for granted and doesn't cover the details of the actual choke. We'll learn how to counter a take down with a guillotine but the thing is I don't know really how to guillotine. It just gets overwhelming quick trying to keep up with combination moves when I don't have the fundamentals down...

love all your videos. they're beautifully shot and well explained! could you do a video of how to "start" the roll in different ways (different options) ? when I'm on bottom it's either colar and wrist grip, or butterfly position...but it never works.. starting is the hardest part for me in the whole roll, as I always land in the "bad" position, which i need to get out from.

Patrina's sustained eye contact is the real MVP of these vids.👌

Keeping the head close and making that hole to fall in. Got it!

My 10 yo boy has a belt promotion coming up, and he wants to do the bow and arrow choke for his submission demonstration. This video has helped me make sure he has the finer details polished up before he gets graded. Thank you Jordan.
