There’s a lot of BJJ content out there, and I’d be hard pressed to argue this channel isn’t the best, most comprehensive, and helpful there is. Thank you Jordan- Oss
I have to agree. Jordan’s videos are so well structured. I have autism and he gives the details that really make sense to me. I love the conceptual teaching style.
I'm a brown belt and honestly, the kimura/kimura traps are the biggest part of my arsenal. Gi and no-gi. I just love how strong that grip is. So easy to control people with. Great video!
Hi Jordan, 50 year old blue belt here! Love your videos and the way you teach. I've been watching your videos multiple times to improve my technique. Keep it up.
The editing and just the way this video was put together is next level. Watching 4 minutes of this video is equivalent to watching 20 minutes of similar content.
Hey Jordan! I've been going to BJJ class for 6 weeks now, after watching this video I managed to land my first submission on a coloured belt. A 1 stripe blue belt at my club who I normally can't get near. I got the Kimura grip and got to his back, held onto the grip and transitioned to the armbar to get the sub. Huge moment for me and I'm so grateful for all your content!
This whole method of the system explanation, from the if, then process to breaking up the video into parts makes learning more digestible, like you say the path of least resistance. I’ve noticed from the commentary videos that you have this down to a science and an art. Thanks for your effort, time, sacrifices, and dedication.
Jordan, again an amazing video! As a white belt I been under the impression that the kimura is only a finish. Now my mind is blown away that there is SO MUCH ahead of me to learn.
Best bjj videos… 👊🏽 I’ve only been doing bjj for 11 classes now with 0 former ground/grappling experience. I went from knowing nothing to successfully using techniques like the rolling back attack on 3 different blue belts after watching your videos.. and now I’m going to apply this Kimura grip tonight. Thank you 🙏 Also, your ‘how to not get your guard passed’ video instantly changed my guard game. I went from getting passed constantly by everyone to being comfortable with being on my back. I recommend your videos to everyone I roll with.
i’m a white belt and have been training for a little over a year. i decided to work on my guard game and i started working the kimura trap back in march. since then, i’ve caught all different belt levels with the sweep and i’ve moved onto working the transition to the back. this is definitely my go to and this video just gave me even more avenues to go down. i’m competing in 2 weeks and have white and blue belts in my bracket so we’ll see how it goes. awesome video
I watched this video this morning before nogi class and I used the kimura trap (sweep) in a roll! As a two stripe white belt it's awesome when you learn something that resonates with you and you are able to use it in live rolls, adding a new technique to the arsenal ! Really loving your videos you have taught me so much ! Love from N. Ireland
Hey Jordan. I injured my leg during rolling back in January but I have been following you since I found you last year. Your videos make great brain food while I've been recovering and your concepts of stapling an arm while you go for a submission is one of my favourites. I made a tentative return last week to the mats and hit a couple of your kimura entries from positional sparring. My partner asked "have you been watching youtube videos or something?" Yup! As a fellow Canadian, hope to drop in and train with you next time I find myself in Onterrible.
i used the kimura sweep today for the first time thanks to you. fit into my game very easily. i didnt use the leg properly but i loaded the hip and got someone passed my center line and then put them in a triangle from the back. im going to fine tune this shit and become poetic. i thought of you lol. you are practically one of my coaches now fam! oss!!!!!
I've been working this kimura trap "system" for a little more than 6 months and it's changed my game so much. Today, for the first time, I did a "sweep" to the "back take" and finished with an arm bar. It felt amazing! Thanks so much for sharing this Jordan. Can't tell you how much I appreciate your help.
I wish my Jiu-Jitsu progression was as fast and professional as your amazing progression in production, content, teaching, and ethics. What a pleasure to learn so much from your videos. Thank you for your passion for the art of grappling et al..
I just started BJJ about a month ago and the details in these videos are really helping my understand things. Thanks for all your hard work producing these.
One thing that I must say because I bought your bjj fanatics instructional - while I love the instructional (and you go over this a little in it) boy do I like how you edit and record your stuff better on your channel and patreon (which is so worth it) vs how bjj fanatics does their editing etc! The clarity, quality, descriptions, details, and even audio, are a million times better. The instructional is amazing though (10/10) and something I’ve added to my game, but the dedication you have is amazing with the UA-cam stuff, you really outdo yourself! :)
Thank you!! That's actually the reason I'm not doing more with them. I'm greatful for them and the opportunity they gave me but my standards are so high I just want to do it all myself. And if I'm going to ask for money for the product it should be an even better product than my UA-cam 🙂
@@JordanTeachesJiujitsu so much respect! Your stuff is great I would download your UA-cam videos if I could, appreciate all of the insight hope to make it up to Canada soon from NY!
THANK YOU so much !! These days, I manage to get the kimura grip but I was stucked not knowing how to go further, particularily against bigger opponents. This help me so much !!
Your channel is just all around awesome. I’m a pro mma fighter & I’ve been using so much of your stuff in rolling with my coaches and teammates. I appreciate the attention to detail in your commentary, and how concisely you make your points. Keep it up.
Really well explained and illustrated. I'm not sure why but your content is much clearer than your average jiu jitsu channel. Thanks for adding this to supplement our training!
I got a knee injury 6 months in to my BJJ journey and I’m almost ready to get back on the mats, can’t wait to bring some of the stuff I’ve learnt from your videos with me!
You’ve been hinting at this one for a long time. Didn’t disappoint. Very excellent instructional. The one screen notes, the slowed down movement with real time and voice over commentary are so good. This is such a high quality video for Kimora traps. It’s going in my saved file for further study. I will be looking for more open elbows to attack from guard.
Excellent video that I’ve rewatched about ten times over the past few months whilst my ability to execute these techniques effectively has gradually improved
Did this system for 2 weeks, it was not enough. Definitely want to implement the back take a lot more. The techniques for dealing with a half guard bottom kimura thats glued to their hip are going to be useful. Thanks!
Mate, you are putting together the slickest instructionals on UA-cam. There are a lot of furious Brazilians out there trying to sell their dodgy videos shaking their acai stained fists at you.
THANK YOU! I have been piecing this together from various youtube videos. I am a huge fan of the Kimura Trap and much love for putting it into one video.
I'm sure these videos are a lot of work, so thank you so much. Technique chains and showing different options from a position is what makes your videos so valuable to me. Great work! Please more like these!
As someone who does MMA but knows fuck all about BJJ this video has absolutely blown my mind. Fantastic Tips, a nice voice to listen to, great Camera & Lighting plus awesome explanations. Instantly subscribed, thank you.
Duuuude! I wanted to post two photos of my kimura trap to kimura finishes on here but I can’t add photos! Your video upped my kimura game 100%. Did my first competition today and I wanted to send a photo of my proper knee down, elbow down form finishing the sub. You’re the man Jordan. Keep the content flowing. I wish I could send these photos though man. Thank you
I’m a white belt and I have been working on this technique for a while and have not synced it. This has given me some new ideas I will be trying during my rolls.
I'm loving your work man - i follow quite a few jiu jitsu channels, and the detail / concepts you go through definitely take it that extra step. Thank you!
Love it as always bud, knew the back take portion of the trap and a few counters but this has that extra depth to really make this a usable system for me
We're currently drilling Kimura trap in class (probably last few weeks). This is a really great video to pick up details that I might have missed in class. 👍
I love this roll at 3:30. I'm 250 pounds and I think people assume I can't do that one. I honestly think people are shocked when I show up behind them. Interestingly though, your opponents end up belly up on top of you, most of the time I end up rear mounted and my opponent is turtled.
As always, this video is gold. LOVE the system approach. Really helps place this all in order in my brain. Thanks you for the hard work and dedication 🙏
Heck yeah! The long awaited Kimura trap video is here! That spin to the back deserves style points, I can’t wait to try it. This is probably the most informative kimura trap instructional I’ve seen around. Thank you sir! 🔥

Thanks again Jordan - great video as usual. I've always avoided Kimura stuff because it's a "strong man move." But I'll start approaching it instead as a dominant 2-on-1 gripping strategy to transition to a more dominant body position (back attack, mount, etc).
Yes! Cant wait to try it. Always roll with a heavier blue belt that always leaves his elbow open. I always go for the Kimura there, but never knew what to do from there when that failed. Can't wait to try this next class. Jordan, you're the man.

I learned the kimura from back to arm bar from you and its my highest percentage sub by far. I think I finish about 90% of them. Thanks!
