Is there any info on re-assembly I will be replacing my cbr954rr transmission with a complete donor trans due to a bad 2nd and 4th gear Any recommendations or tips regarding the reassembly? Great tear down tutorial though!
+Moco Mods First off drop the new gearbox in the engine case then put the selector forks back in and run thought the gears by hand, make sure the box works as smooth at it should, most of damaged on gearboxs on the 929/954 is found on the dogs not the teeth so you need to inspect it well before fitting. I would recommend buying the Haynes manual for the rebuild, it is not that hard to do but there are several tips on what you need to do and all the correct torque settings are listed. Most of it is super simple but the parts you will need to look up are fixing the gearbox selector rocker spring back in to place and getting the clutch drum back in line with the crank ( and on the oil pump ). For the rocker, fix in to place then push the spring back into its location with a driver then tighten. for the Clutch drum, line up with oil pump pins and push down, you need to place a flat screwdriver into a hole in the case next to the crank and then turn the crank with a socket to line up the teeth on the clutch drum. The clutch should sit flush, you can test that it is seated on the oil pump by turning the clutch, you can see the oil pump turning on the other side of the engine ( also drives the water pump ). the rest is simple.... but borrow or buy the book. cheers.
Eugen Moldovan only Problem we have ever had is the gearbox. Trackbikes with quickshifters will give problems. Other than that strong engine for sure. ( Often used in grass track cars as well )
And they never made a follow up video 😐
Thanks for the vid ... when do you think will be the next part done?? ... I'm quite interested in seeing how you do this
Go to partzilla they tear down a r6 & a raptor700 & rebuild both
Again, sorry for all of the comments, with regards to the re-assembly, do you have any torque specs for any of the bolts?
Also, at the 7:35 mark when undoing the gear drum fixings and rocker fixings, what size allen key are you using?
Dobry materiał.
Tu as de la technique, mais pas pratique de travailler à même le sol : une table au moins t'aurais faciliter la vie
