My 929 was similar. Barn find, stood 10 years, all fuel evaporated from tank. No rust. In then end I got another set of throttle bodies and that cured it after many hours of messing about.
Thanks so much for sharing this video, having struggled with my sp2, and checking the FPR for faults everything seems fine. However, seeing you open the butterfly and the fuel leaking like that. I will be checking mine, as I have the same problem wet plugs and misfiring. Normally you pull the breather off the FPR to see if fuel leaks. But seeing the fuel dribble from the throttle body is another option to investigate. Cheers buddy 👍
2nd video i watched ever from you and 2 out of 2 im shocked, thinking it would have taken me an eternity to figure. Other one was the zx6r ignition switch. Hats off to you
I use this stuff 👍 www.frost.co.uk/frost-safe-rust-remover-5-litre-biodegradable-non-toxic-acids/?gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAiA98WrBhAYEiwA2WvhOiH4ItQ9VIbCs6ttz7Re9n1nS77fjdV4LnS5eBnj3YO_LEFiYW-s6RoCQikQAvD_BwE
@SuperbikeSurgeryTV thanks Jim, that's going to cost me £120 to fill the tank with that stuff, I hear white vinegar is supposed to be a good cheap option, I might try that first as its much cheaper, thanks for getting back to me, appreciated👍👍
i changed an engine on a vfr 800 a long time ago could i fxxk get it started for a week on an off, it turn out to be one of the plugs on the injector harness had corroded away just enough not to make contact
Its a common problem on the Honda first gen Fi, CBR600 as well. Nice work with the scope, very interesting, I would like to see more of that !
Outstanding! Somebody with this motorbike will save a lot of money if they have this fault, good show sir!
Thanks for sharing this, I've got a CBR with first gen Fi, so this is much appreciated.
You didn't over complicate it at all, you ruled out faulty parts. Yes we want more scope diagnosis 👍

Good reminder to start from the basics 👍

May i ask how do you get the rust out of the fuel tank?
Best regards
I was wondering the same...
Nice troubleshooting. What caused that tank to rust like that? How could that have been prevented?
Another good trouble shoot video for the collection for when ever the Gremlins bugger something up again
Good catch Jim :)
That's rare in the car world let alone bikes. Fault is fixed👍
Jim how did you go about getting the rust out that tank? My zx7 has rust in and I need to sort it out, thanks John.
