    like the tip about aligning the bolt head so it's in a good spot to get a wrench on when tightining the bottom two strut bolts.

    Awesome! You made it look so easy...Recently installed new KYB front struts on our 06 Odyssey. Had a hell of a time removing the sway bar links due to rust.

    Thanks Jim. I did this on a 2009 Cobalt for a friend last year. Front and back with the stabilizer links too. I lost 2 battles while doing it. One of the top strut bolts spun and had to be cut and one of the links had to be cut. Other than that it was straight forward. Back needed the shocks and the springs too.

    do/should we use anti-seize or thread lock anywhere? I would assume at least thread lock on the bolt/nut connection areas and anti-seize in the spline areas, but wasn't brought up to or not to use it

    I removed all the the nuts, three on top, one on stabilizer link and two on strut and entire strut assemble won't come down. I was thinking of hammering it down, but haven't done it, worried I'm missing something here. Any suggestions?

    How did you know that the Strut needed replacing - or did the Customer come to the Shop and say , " Will you replace my Right Front Strut ?

    • @bradleywilcox8873

      The struts were either leaking or super spongy

    Does changing the strut require an alignment (camber/caster)?

      NU3Q yes

    • @jimthecarguy

      Yes whenever you do any front end work it is always a good idea to check the alignment

    • @bradleywilcox8873
      @bradleywilcox8873 4 роки тому

      the 2 bolts by the knuckle get torqued anywhere from 200/250 ft lbs (depending on car) and the 3 upper bolts get torqued to anywhere around 45/50 ft pounds, again depending on the type of vehicle
