Gracias mi amigo lo voy a gacer a mi cobalt.
like the tip about aligning the bolt head so it's in a good spot to get a wrench on when tightining the bottom two strut bolts.
Thanks for watching.
Good video sir, about to install new struts myself
Awesome! You made it look so easy...Recently installed new KYB front struts on our 06 Odyssey. Had a hell of a time removing the sway bar links due to rust.
sway bar links are always a fun time lol
That is sometimes the hardest part the rust. Thanks for watching.
@@bradleywilcox8873 You have to love that rust. Thanks for watching.
...another quality video Jim...thanks for posting...keep 'em coming.
Will do. Thanks for watching.
Excellent video with the needed details. Thank you sir.
Glad it was helpful!
Thanks Jim. I did this on a 2009 Cobalt for a friend last year. Front and back with the stabilizer links too. I lost 2 battles while doing it. One of the top strut bolts spun and had to be cut and one of the links had to be cut. Other than that it was straight forward. Back needed the shocks and the springs too.
Thanks for watching and your input. Stay safe
Thank you Sir, excellent your work.
As always, good information
Thanks for watching.
Love the vids Jim! You make keeping my Cobbie on the road for cheap a breeze!
do/should we use anti-seize or thread lock anywhere? I would assume at least thread lock on the bolt/nut connection areas and anti-seize in the spline areas, but wasn't brought up to or not to use it
Very informative. Thanks for the video.
What dice is the wrench 🔧
Much mahalos Jim!
Thanks for watching.
Good video and how to Jim
Thanks for watching.
That's my next by torque wrenches ft & in lbs. Jim you make it look too easy 😂
Thanks for watching.
I removed all the the nuts, three on top, one on stabilizer link and two on strut and entire strut assemble won't come down. I was thinking of hammering it down, but haven't done it, worried I'm missing something here. Any suggestions?
How did you know that the Strut needed replacing - or did the Customer come to the Shop and say , " Will you replace my Right Front Strut ?
The struts were either leaking or super spongy
The ones on this car were making noise over bumps. Thanks for watching.
@@bradleywilcox8873 Thank you for you input and for watching.
Does changing the strut require an alignment (camber/caster)?
NU3Q yes
Yes whenever you do any front end work it is always a good idea to check the alignment
If u lifted up on the brake caliper, u wouldn't have to bang the bolts
Thanks for watching.
Thanks for watching.
never saw him torque them?
the 2 bolts by the knuckle get torqued anywhere from 200/250 ft lbs (depending on car) and the 3 upper bolts get torqued to anywhere around 45/50 ft pounds, again depending on the type of vehicle
Thanks for watching.
Thanks for your input
