I've never taken the bones out of canned salmon, they're soft and full of nutrients, been eating it for 60+ years.
I just mash the bones. They are super soft and full of nutrients.
Salmon croquettes, smothered potatoes, biscuits, Brer Rabbit syrup and the rain.....that’s what I like.
My Mom made salmon patties and homemade biscuits and we had brer rAbbit syrup i had forgotten about brer rabbitt don,t know if they still make them or not will look for some week always loved brer rabitt syrup
Girl, yeah!
Oh my goodness, bring back happy memories. Where I Iive we don't have Brer Rabbit. Once a friend brought me a bottle from New Orleans ❤❤❤. This is a great video ❤
My mother always made them with smothered potatoes growing up and that what I make my croquettes with.
Sounds like a very very good day! Nice. Brer Rabbit. Mmmm. Yes sir.
Those bones are completely edible and meant to be eaten. They are an excellent source of calcium especially for women. I grew up in southern Louisiana so I add some finely chopped onion, celery, green pepper, and parsley. I serve them with Mashed potatoes, biscuits and pan gravy, a green salad. The next day any leftovers are put inside a biscuit with warmed up gravy. That is a good lunch.
Yes eat the bones, they are soft, completely edible and an excellent source of calcium.
That is for sure the bones are edible, it makes it crunchier, and i need the calcium for sure.. you would never know they were there. I just now hearing how people take the bones out.. kind of crazy really. Thank you though for your recipe
I used to make them with the bones. I tried it without once. Now I always take the bones out. Taste better to me.
@@bryantmyrick5533 me too, I don’t like them so I remove them,,
I mash with my fingers and you never know
I love that he keeps his kitchen clean and cleans as he cooks. ❤
We always use cornmeal as our thickening agent, it adds an unbelievable taste to the patties. We use them on sandwiches with a slice of raw onion and lots of mustard!
That's nice
YES INDEED!👍😋 I am craving for salmon patties and I knew exactly who channel to go on..my buddie Chef Jeffrey..his recipes are endless! You will always find cooking ideas from his old and new videos!🤗👍😋
I just found your cooking videos. I absolutely love watching you cook. You cook just like my southern grandmother and mother. They were both fabulous cooks and I miss them so very much. I have been sick with Covid for almost a month and this is the first time I have been even interested in food. Will be following and watching. Keep up the good work.
Great ideas!
😂ah
My dad always made fried potatoes with salmon patties and we ate ours with ketchup! So good!!
I used to love them with grits!
Great combo!!! My grandmother would make green beans and biscuits. Sa'mon pattie biscuit is to die for....
Yea ketchup an fish cakes
My mom was from Ohio and we had salmon cakes all the time too. With Ketchup and fried potatoes.
We ate ours with rice!
One of my favorites, but I don’t pick the bones out. They’re soft and chew up real easy 😂 #countrygirl #helpsomebodyoldschoolsoulfood
Yessssss! Great to keep the bone product. Loaded with calcium. Bones are soft enough to mash fine into the patty.
The bones mess up the texture.
Those little bones just go away to nothing if you mash them up. . I sometimes take them out too.
We ate our salmon with grits and eggs
Thank you so much for this recipe. It warmed my heart to see it. My mother used to make this on Saturday mornings with biscuits and buttered rice. We'd have breakfast and sit and watch her favorite western shows. It's one of the few recipes I did not get from her before she passed. I'm going to make this on Mother's Day.
I am grateful to you and the other Afr American chefs on you tube and the Old School Channel that are spawning a new generation of cooks and inspiring the former generation for “home cooked like momma used to make”🥺dishes, made with luv🤩💯🤤so thankyou and hats off to you all👌🏾
Yes indeed 💯
The fish bones are good for you. If you don’t want to crunch down on them all you have to do is crush them up and mix everything together. You won’t even know that they are in there.
How are the bones good for you when you can CHOKE?
@@baileybutterfly320 They are softer since they have been marinating in the can.
@@SamuelsReview oh okay! Thanks!
My thoughts exactly. I always leave the bones, they crush up nicely.
@@baileybutterfly320 The bones are soft because they are cooked along with the salmon during the canning process. I personally remove them, but my mother always left them in. She said it was a good source of calcium.
My mother used to cook them, and that’s how I learned. We ate ours with rice and eggs for breakfast
Soul food good for the soul
Good breakfast!
Oh that sounds good!!!
Same. I still eat it this way when craving comfort food on Sunday morning. Why the craving hits on Sunday’s I have no idea lol.
I had em with KETCHUP haha
Oh, yea!! This was one of my old school father's favorite recipes! I too, until I became an adult, thought it only came in a can, because that's what my father used. He went to heaven 12 years ago. I will make this recipe in honor of him on the day of his next birthday. Thanks!!
Love that in honor of your dad. My dad passed 2 years ago and loved them too! #ForDad
My mom used to make this all the time! I just found your channel and I am so glad. This is the way food should be made- I am binge watching recipes😂 and I want to thank you for providing these - and sharing your time w us!
Awesome. Welcome to my channel
Tracy you've got to stick around!! Jeffrey makes the best food!!! I'm not kidding you girl look at his channel ! He's got all the favorites!😋
I stumbled upon Chef's recipes tonight (24-hour fried chicken) and I've been binge watching for the last hour 😏 ❤️
Looks good
The Ritz crackers in it - genius. I'm going to make these and then dredge in crushed ritz crackers then fryin pan. Yummy.
Hope you enjoy
Most people don't know about putting syrup on salmon patties BUT my mom was from Mississippi and that's how we ate THEM🙏🏿
I've never heard of it, but I'm going try it 😉
I'm from the SIP(Mississippi) also. We too, ate our salmon croquettes with syrup, n biscuits. We had a big family, therefore my mother added cooked rice to the salmon mixture, to "stretch" the salmon. Years ago, I found an interesting recipe in a magazine for salmon croquettes. I haven't tried it yet, but the recipe added English peas, n cooked mashed potatoes to the salmon. Here's a "rule of thumb" I live by too.To be on the safe side,...when taste sampling my dishs with raw eggs in them, I add all ingredients, except the eggs. I then sample my dish, n if I'm satisfied with the taste, I then add the eggs last. This is just a thought, bc, I have no personal ill, feelings of anyone sampling their dishes that includes raw eggs. As, the saying goes, "to each their own." To all...be blessed and stay safe.
@ Ruth P...all ight now! I'm from, and live in the SIP. Be blessed and stay safe.
... it's 3:43am Monday, in the morning, n I'm here on UA-cam looking at these salmon croquettes. I should be asleep, bc, I plan to work in my vegetable garden about 6:30 this morning. I HADN'T planned on cooking Monday, bc, late Sunday evening, I cooked: baked pork chops, okra corn n tomatoes, n corn bread, and I planned to eat leftovers Monday, but after seeing these croquettes, I want some RAT NOW, bc, looking at them, has me feeling hungry!!!🤭 I ain't got "no Mike 🎤" to drop, so... I'm getting my hungry tail offline, to get a little shut eye, before my day starts in about 2.5 hours. Forgive me for going on, n on n on.😬 To all...be blessed and stay safe.
That’s awesome 👏🏾
Thanks for the kind words
They are lighter inside if you boil a potato whole, then mash it up to add to the patty and dredge them in cornmeal before frying. They are light and fluffy inside and crisp outside. Salmon patties Memphis style.
Wonderful!
wow that's a new one on me, but i don't see how it could be bad, sounds delicious
Can't wait to try it this way. I love them, my Mom use to add a little flour and baking powder to make them raise. I always add chopped up red bell peppers to mines. I usually make a sandwich with mustard and mayonnaise, delicious!
@@mixedmediaartgirl300 neither of my grandmother's use potato in theirs. However I tried the boiled potato in mine. Didn't like it at all. Barely could taste the salmon.. I threw them all out and made more.. lucky I bought 2 cans.. sometimes it's best to stick to the original ways of things!
@@denisetonya5666 especially with those tried and true passed down southern recipes!! They're simple, but methodical and you do one thing different and you can just forget it.
Thanks for a terrific recipe. A family member always made seafood sauce with these & it adds a lot of flavor. Mayo+ketchup+diced bread & butter pickles or sweet relish.
This is how we made them growing up in East TN! Country folk over here too.. ;) You know they’re a chef when they can grab, crack, empty, and discard two eggs in less than 2 seconds.. lol. Thank you, chef!
wait til you see him flipping fried eggs !!!
@@anastasia10017 , I’ll pull up a chair and be waiting and watching! 🍳👀❤
My mother is from Memphis. 😁
@@Bassmaster_Ice318 , It’s a small world! Both of my parents are from TN! Dad was retired military and had us all over though. Lol. Nice to meet you!
I love your videos... Your voice is very warming old school southern that brings us back to the good days when people were nice to each other....
Bro he makes me wanna come over lol
Going to use mayo in the next salmon cakes I make, thank you, chef. The soft bones have never bothered me, I like them as a matter of fact. Full of calcium.
Mash the soft bones with a fork and mix them in your mixture..Dont throw that great CALCIUM SOURCE AWAY..!
Bh
My grandma made salmon patties every weekend. We ate them with grits homemade biscuits and mustard catsup molasses syrup grape jelly hot sauce and cha cha. Those were good times great memories and good eating. 😇
THAT sounds like some fabulous eating!
That was living-stay blessed!
Gurrrrrlllll, you gonna make me drop a few tears!!! 😂 This *video* and your comment took me back. And yes, we had all of that; my favorite was with the molasses. Beautiful times, sweet memories! Grateful for the 'hands' of my Mom and Grandma when they prepared the food with love in their 💓s.
I never had it with Chow-Chow, but it sounds delicious. I am going to give it a try. Thanks for the idea!
I have been craving some salmon patties for forever.. my mom used to make them for me and I lost her 6 years ago and never knew how she made them.. I tried to make them once and failed miserably..lol.. I feel pretty confident about making them now!! Thank you Chef! 🧡
Wish I had paid more attention when I was younger and helping my mother in the kitchen instead of just watching and eating her delicious meals she prepared for her family of seven. I can make her chicken and dressing but there are many things I can’t because she never relied on measuring spoons and cups. The one recipe I wish I had written down was a fruit pie. She would make up a big batch put filling in a vanilla wafer or graham cracker crust and freeze them. This was back before cool whip was even on the market. But I remember her beating Dream whip or evaporated milk in her dishpan adding crushed pineapple and that is all I can remember. She wanted that pie before she died and we could not find her recipe to make one for her. I feel sorry for the younger generation because they don’t want to hear anything about what their parents had to do when they were young much less learn how to cook. Sorry for being long winded just feeling a little melancholy. Love Chef Jeffery’s channel.
Me too, my dad. You want to make great salmon cakes😂I trying to get right myself
Just like my mama made! Beautiful and nutritious for seven kids. She used mackerel, it was cheaper.
Thank you for bringing back "old school" home cooking that alot of us oldies grew up eating...this is home cooking like my grandmother's and mother cooked...made your chicken and dumplings and just bought some canned salmon to make salmon croquettes ..you make them like my grandmothers and mom..thank you for bringing this home cooking to everyone...love and peace...❤️
Thanks for the kind words. Your welcome
My mom would pick out the bones and those were my treat as a child. Loved those. She served the patties with creamed peas. One of my favorite meals she cooked.
When I was growing up in NM, we ate salmon patties every year during Lent/Good Friday. With 12 kids to feed, we ate every fish bone & bread crumb! ;-)
I’m from Texas, my grandma used to mix flour and cornmeal with the onions and bell peppers! We would eat it with biscuits and karo syrup, and smothered potatoes! Ewww Chile talk about good eating, you would for sure need a nap after that. Miss those good ole days, my grandma is with God now! God bless you King and thank you for sharing your recipes and good stories!
That's what I'm talking about both are good in this recipe, but his way sounds good as well:-)
I don't know why I haven't cooked this in so long. Loved it when my Mom made this meal. We had rice and biscuits with it. Either syrup, jelly or molasses on the biscuits. I get a little emotional watching your video. I know, I'm just wimpy! But I can't help but think about my Mom (and Grandma down in AL) making this meal for us when they were alive.
Thank you for bringing back some sweet memories. And I will also be picking up a few cans of the Salmon this weekend. Gotta make this next week!! Thanks again Chef!!
I remember mom making fried fish patties. Any fish she had on the shelf. She added celery and peppers in the mix. We always ate our fish patties with ketchup. Thanks for sharing your recipe and video. 🙂👍
I just love to hear your voice, you explain everything so well, and the visual is on point.
And we always ate syrup with our too.
I grew up on this. I haven't had it in years.
I will be trying it again.
God bless.
Hello Teach. My son girlfriend and I was talking about cooking Salmon or Mackerels patties last night for Saturday with smothered potatoes..Have a blessed day Teach.
Sounds good to me. Enjoy 😉
Country cooking is soul food eating. Don't knock it until you try it. Bless you Chef. It would not taste the same without the syrup. Love it. Be Bless and 'Amen'.
You're fine chef. The "L" is silent.
It sure is!! It's samon!!😂
I was an adult before I knew how to correctly pronounce this. It was always SALmon.
Wow, my dad was from Mississippi as well and when I make croquettes I always eat them with syrup. This video brought back pleasant memories and made my day. Blessings!
I add regular yellow mustard in my salmon cakes, which gives it a good taste. I also use Panko crumbs instead of flour, and minimize the mayonnaise.
This definitely reminds me of my childhood. Although, I grew up in Los Angeles, my Wonderful Mother was Born and raised in Mississippi before moving to Chicago. My Mother cooked her Salmon Croquettes the same way. I loved eating them with syrup and sometimes with grits and eggs. Wow, it's amazing how similar your style of food preparation is to moms. Thank you so much for reminding me how very Blessed me and my siblings were. Please continue to share our heritage 💪💪👏👏👏!!!I Love the realism of your channel. I feel like I'm with Family!!!
My mom and dad were from Mississippi, too and migrated to Chicago for better opportunities. Say it again! Best childhood memories, ever!⛄💥
I'm fixing me some tommorow, reminds me of the good old days Ty
@@ethelhendricks4819 Yes, girl!!! We're family!!!
Salmon patties with sweet peas and rice. A meal. 🙌🏾
I love salmon patties!
I haven't even finished watching your video and already I have subcribed. I love your vibe and attitude and that towel over the shoulder reminded me of my dad cooking when I was a little girl. Thank you!
Love the method of using an ice cream scoop to form your patties.
It makes them more uniform.
Hello there Chef Jeff; This is Tim Williams and I'm watching a video clip on your Mackrle recipe. May God continue to bless you Jeff and may God bless you.
Tim Williams
Yeeessss….😀Thank you, this video brings back good memories when mama would could cook “samon croquettes” for daddy and he would only eat them with (Uncle Steve’s Ribbon Cane Blend Syrup) with the white, blue, and red label. 😀 Happy Times
Hi Chef. Growing up in the 60s in the Northeast, we also only had salmon in cans. But we thought the bones were a treat! I usually eat it as salmon salad (just like tuna salad), but I like the patties. We also used to add some leftover white rice and grated cheddar, make it into little balls, and bake them on a cookie sheet.
Thank you for the ideals Lirazel64 never thought of it
Oh my, this does bring back memories! I can see how using the mayo can make the patties moist ... I will be trying this. Especially, remember the Brer Rabbit syrup with some hot biscuits. Hadn't thought about or eaten this syrup for at least 60 years. Thanks Chef.
I love Brer Rabbit but I prefer Steens in the yellow can. We never ate syrup with our croquettes. They were an edition to seafood nights. Fish and shrimp etcetera. Catsup and Tartar Sauce.
@ Evelyn Hawkins... yes, those were the days of good memories. Speaking of, mayo n, moist, here's another "food for thought"; back around 1976-1977, a co-worker told me to add a spoonful of Miracle Whip to my corn bread mixture, to make it fluffy. I've been adding Miracle Whip to my batter every since! It makes the bread fluffy and moist. Girrrrl, dat Bread be good! I would cut me a "hunk" of dat Bread, then split it in the middle, throw some margarine in that split, let it melt, melt some margarine on top of the bread too, sprinkling some salt on top,(I use Garlic salt now) n I "GO TO TOWN" on dat Bread!!!Bread dat good is called...CONE BREAD! As Florida Evans said on Good Times, "DAMN! DAMN! DAMN!You HURD me! Forgive me, bc, I prefer "not" to use the inspirational word (blessed, n cussing word damn, together... but in this case: DAMN! I couldn't help myself🤭. Dat "CONE BREAD" will make YOU want to slap somebody! 😊Be blessed, enjoy the rest of your day, and stay safe.
@@tooblessedmiller6937 Thank you, love your humor. Thanks for the tip, it sounds like a lovely addition to corn bread and I will certainly try it. In fact I will be adding it to my corn bread today. Just putting on an Old Fashion pot of Beef Stew, knowing this will pair well with the corn bread. Funny, you should mention Florida Evans, because since I've down graded my cable service, I been binging on that series...LOL!! All blessing to you and yours.
@@MsUnik44 you are welcomed for the tip. I'm watching lots of Good Times, Sanford and Son, too much of Gunsmoke, and The Virginian☺️. I hope the Miracle Whip make a difference in your bread. That beef stew sounds DELICIOUS 😋. That type of food can fills you up, makes you lazy, and sleepy 😴. I love corn bread, but it makes me itchy. My favorite food is spaghetti,n corn bread. Any form of corn products, (and I use to eat pop corn nearly every day!!!) or Tomatoe products, breaks me out nowdays. My mother use to say, "keep living long enough... everything going to hurt you, wear out, or, break down☺️. That statement holds truth...my favorite foods, break me out in hives, so I'm now popping Benadryl, to sooth the itch🤭. I pray this doesn't get to the point where I start swelling, bc, then, it's more serious, n, I'll have to stop eating those items. When my mother really enjoyed her meal, she would say, "I have SUFFICIENTLY dined." So Ms. Evelyn... I hope u sufficiently enjoy your beef stew meal. Enjoy the rest of your day, blessings to you n your family.
Yeah, I'm a Georgian country boy my momma used to make those Salmon patties all the time for me, and my siblings with a side of grits or rice they were so delicious!
When I was growing up we put syrup on everything. Sweet and salty so good. That’s what we do in South Louisiana
Yes, I love salmon croquettes. We ate them with rice and buttermilk biscuits & alaga syrup with some butter smashed in it.
yep buddie, whooooo!!!!!
Yess alaga surup i grew up on..i bought some since ive been grown but its a lil watery but still the taste is good😃
My mother in law taught me to make “tuna fish” patties instead of salmon or mackerel. Made similar to this. They were coated with cornmeal before frying. So good!
These salmon croquettes look delish!!
#helpsomebodyoldschoolsoulfood
Terry would you mind sharing the recipe with me.
I’ve thought about making tuna patties. I like tuna so why not 😊
My mom had the tuna fish patties. I can't remember if we had the salmon or not. I do now, I love both. I also do it with mackerel,, it's way cheaper than the canned salmon.
I grew up in Texas in 50's and Mother cooked salmon croquetts at least once a month and as children we thought they were a special treat , no ketchum needed !
I eat them this way most of the time. The small tuna can is just perfect for me. They're just as good!
Sir I feel like I’m cookin with my Grandma watching and listening to you. I’m very happy to have found you!💜✌🏼🌻🦋
In VA where I’m from we just called them “fish cakes” we made them with salmon or mackerel. Always had some fried potatoes to go along with them, and some light bread!
This does bring back memories. I grew up in the 1930s in a small town, and I never knew that salmon came in any shape but what came out of a can. We called it "sammen" too. I have always loved salmon patties, nice and crunchy. Yours look delicious, but I never heard of putting syrup on it. Worth a try!!
Our family liked to pour peas in cream sauce over our salmon patties. Just a can of peas with butter and milk, and some flour to thicken it. No cream, but we called it cream peas. I feel sorry for little kids that have never had salmon patties. I used to make them for my kids and shape them like little fish.
I remember my mommy cooking like that it brings back a lot of memories. Got me in the kitchen making it and the memories with my family
My grandmother used to make salmon croquette homemade biscuits and fried potatoes and we ate it with Brer Rabbit syrup.
I love incorporating southern black recipes into my menu, thanks for sharing...BLESSINGS FROM Southwest GA
Looking good, Chef! I would love to have some of these right now! Btw, your Mama was pronouncing Salmon correctly. The L is silent. I never take the bones out, neither did my Mama. They are so soft they can’t hurt you, but it’s just a personal preference thing. Really enjoying your channel. 💜💜
It’s really pronounced samon the “L” is silent
We had rice home made biscuits and syrup, Alaga Syrup
Hey Chef , I’m going to Walmart right now and get me some canned salmon in water. I say samon too !! I lived in Dresden Tennessee for 3 years. I loved it so pretty but I missed my sons and family from New Jersey , so I moved back to New Jersey. Love ❤️ you Chef , watch you all the time and make Yur recipes. Your recipes inspire me each day what I'll cook for dinner!! I was so bored with cooking the same weekly menu's for my family until I found your channel. Today I'm making the salmon patties. We love these but trying it with the mayo and then lightly putting the flour coating on is going to step it up a notch!! Thanks Chef for the love you bring to our table.
Awesome. Thanks
I love syrup with salmon and biscuits, I’m from old school too!
I've watched cooking videos for years and learned lots. Since watching his, I do like these more. I'm from the southeast and favor his style of cooking the best.
Lord knows I ate so many salmon patties as a child! We used use a brand called Eatwell. Both momma and grandma made salmon and mackerel patties. We used to eat them with grits or rice.
@ Dexter Smith... Sho u right. I'm from the SIP, and "EATWELL" was the brand we ate too. Be blessed and stay safe.
Look So Delicious
I like how you cook straight to the point I like how you clean as you go thank you for the recipe
We ate these all time growing up white beans, mashed potatoes, Salmon patties and biscuits/w Louisiana hot sauce, even ate the leftover patties for breakfast with eggs

I'm cooking this right now!Thank You for all the recipes! They definitely take me back with memories of my grandparents who raised me.Thank YOU!
I didn’t know about whole salmon either until I was about 24yrs (59 now). Now I love both. Thank you for making all your recipes easy and DELICIOUS
My Grandma used to make salmon patties with macaroni cooked with tomatoes and onions. Great that day and as leftovers.
I never heard of salmon croquettes with syrup...we just would eat them with grits! I need to make some soon cause I haven’t had them in years!
Yeah girl. All was missing was the biscuits 😕
They make sandwiches to, or you can eat the like regular fish, hot sauce mustard and onions.
I think that the Molasses, Syrups, and Jellies were a consequence of serving it with those light, delicious, buttery biscuits. Such wonderful country memories.
Mustn’t forget the slice of slab bacon or a link of country sausage on the side. 🥰
your parents pronounced it the correct way. the ‘l’ in salmon is silent. love your videos. you make desserts just like my mom (who is from rural alabama). ❤️
That's the way you suppose to eat it. Thank you homemade biscuits, smothered potatoes or rice and salmon croquettes and syrup. Finally somebody knows how it's done.
My Dad was a fisherman in his younger days (He’s almost 92 now) and loved fish any way he could get it. My Mother (RIL) made these often with fried potatoes or rice, biscuits, & gravy. Great memories ♥️
In WV, we serve the salmon patties with honey mixed with mustard, creamed peas & potatoes, and steamed carrots. I'll have to try them with Brer Rabbit if I can find it. I'm really enjoying your channel.
I was just looking at different recipes for salmon patties yesterday on UA-cam and today you post this. Thank you for your great recipes!
I just love the recipe. Growing up we these I had forgotten. Maybe it’s an East Texas thing. I really enjoy you cooking. It’s like being in moms kitchen again. Thanks
I am from Waco Texas and we use cornmeal for the outside. But we always had smothered potatoes homemade biscuit and Brer Rabbit syrup
Wow we are vase verse, we used corn meal in the inside and coated with flour before cooking. At least someone else knows about the corn meal:-)
We say it the same way in South Carolina.
Reminds me of my Mom. She made them just like this. I am a newbie!! Thank You. So many memories.
Old school is the best school for eating.
Yes am glad you pick the bones out because my mom use to do hers like this she wss the cook were just representatives of the cook
We would have croquettes with rice, biscuits and ALGA syrup. OMG...good eating . We’d cut the syrup with pats of butter and dipped the biscuits in it...YUM-YUM-YUM-YUMMY...that was a party in my tummy when I was kid.
That was my father's favorite syrup...Alaga syrup! He said the name was short for Alabama and Georgia.
@@bva5362 I was also told that the name stood for Alabama Georgia!☺️

looked Wonderful💋🌻💋🌻💋🩷✝️
Ate these as a kid. They were made with cornmeal mix. Had Mac n cheese and pork & beans with them.
Yes, looks so good. When my coworker told me she ate salmon croquettes for BREAKFAST w/ biscuits and syrup and rice I was shocked! Couldn’t believe it! We always had them for dinner w/ spaghetti. I see your way of eating them is very popular. Anyway I’m gonna try it w/the mayo. Sounds interesting.
Sounds weird that my mom made salmon croquette like this using soda cracker crumbs in it, and always served it with canned Chef Boy R D spaghetti . Even though I don't like canned spaghetti otherwise, these two dishes seemed to go together. Watching your video makes me want to make this myself .
I forgot to mention she dipped the croquettes in cornmeal instead of flour before frying. She was born and raised in Texas.
I remember having the croquettes for breakfast or Friday nights always with the biscuits and cream corn 🌽. Thank You Chef 👨🏾🍳 for the Good Ol Memories.
Many Blessings Upon You And Moma Always.
I’m thinking his is the ONLY way to eat “Samon”

I like them thinner, with side dish of mashed potatoes and gravy,( made with pan drippings) cucumber Onion sourcream salad and hot biscuits with a big ol glass of sweet tea. WHOA, MERCY 😋
I was watching your Salmon pattie recipe from two years ago. Your parents were absolutely
correct in their pronunciation of the Salmon. The “L” is silent.
I remember those good old days. Thanks again for those memories. Have a Blessed Day.
