It is always better to work with both hand equal reps .. this is essential for symmetric muscles development.
I did a mace by putting the weights only on one side of a dumbbell. Because I would smash my ceiling, even if I want one of these real maces.
So I have one hand on top of the other hand, not above it. Then I switch hands also and rotate different directions. Both 360 and 10 to 2.
For now I think this training work, obviously it is a little more difficult to get a pendulum.
My idea of as little as I have learnt is stick to one thing for a while and when both sides clean swing happen without the mace brushing your back and you able to do the 360 then try the next thing.
The top hand taking the Mace to the ear which the fingers of the top hand point and then take it from there.
Film yourself and then review whichever UA-camr you follow review with your posture and you will improve, then feel which one of those make you the most pumped up and you would have got it.
There are many variations of the same thing and that makes the mace so much unique. For example change the grip by a few cms the thing is a different thing. Increase the weight by just one kilogram and the thing is again different. Such a unique thing this.
No wonder we as Indians tend to pray our Gada as to us this is God itself. Modern traditional or the flow whichever way one looks at it the mace gives everyone whatever they need. I have added mace squats to my list recently and I have not even learnt 0.000000001 percent of the potential which the Gada has.
All methods have their advantages and all can be incorporated at some time into their learning graph I guess.
Good work Dutchman.

I've gotten into the habit of using the top hand over the opposite shoulder, ie right hand on top -> swing over left shoulder. Just to be consistent with it. For 10-2s I usually do 25 with one hand on top and then transition to the other hand.
Great video Harbert! I train both grips for 360's and 10/2's - although, I was taught that traditionally, for 360's you swing in the direction of the top hand fingers (e.g. if right hand on top, you swing to the left) :)
Chris Denning Ah! People teach the opposite as well ;)
Great explanation! Thank you 🙏

So what u opt is which side u swing that hand should be on top right ?
Usually when we swing to right opposite hand is on top.
Also want to know which is the driving hand and which is the supporting one. Is the top hand driving or supporting?
Love u brother
Great videos to follow
I prefer peer review journals for this type of information. The opinions expressed are supported by scientific research as opposed to "bro knowledge." The Journal of Strength and Conditioning Research is a good source. If the research design and execution doesn't interest you, just skip to the Conclusion and there it is.
