2nd comment. Admittedly, Dr. Grande, I am a vulnerable narcissist, from a long line of narcissists. This conclusion was drawn from viewing the many videos from your catalogue, not just the educational themed videos but also those about true crime. Over the course of my lifetime, I have pondered what in essence was the main driver behind my behaviors, shortcomings, and abhorrent actions. Years of self sought therapy, diagnosis by respected psychiatrists, and working in tandem with psychologists never brought this to light. Either they were afraid to challenge me or I had unwittingly painted myself as the perpetual victim which they bought into. In conclusion, while I have now attained some insight into this one problem, I have not been able to make any substantial changes beyond trying to suppress my personality and trying to compartmentalize my life. I'm not trying to fool anyone, I'm just trying to act like a good person. When I watch some of your case files I see many parallels and marvel I have not done as much damage to others and society as seen with those. Thank you for listening Dr. Grande.

Thanks for the kind words all. It's very much appreciated. But, suppressing who I am at my core, unfortunately, has come with terrible consequences. I've completely lost my way. As I said, coming from a line of narcissists, and learning by their examples and believing the world existed in a certain light, I no longer know who I am or what I am. My compass was my ego. I have never known how to be any other way, I really don't know what it is to be a good person, I only have a perception of what it is to be a good person. When I talk about parallels, with some very disturbing people covered by Dr. Grande, there is sometimes a theme where individuals are exposed as actors who are empty vessels that portray what they think society would view as normal. I feel like that. And, although I have done good things in life, even great things, accomplished some great things in my life, it's those successes, and also failures, that were propelled by a massive ego that was also toxic, and ultimately led to my downfall and my current position in life. Now, I am left unsure what to do if I am no longer willing to be that person? Don't know how to recover and go forward without that person. The consensus among professionals is that there is no fix for this personality disorder. This leaves me feeling helpless and trapped. As it stands now, I've chosen to isolate myself from people, friends, family, any situation that I feel will trigger the emergence of my true personality. It's a difficult way to exist. Please comment

I know it makes you want gag but you have to look at it like this - the judge is only handing him more rope to hang himself with. As the guy goes on with his antics, demanding things, farting/crapping in his pants, making dumb speeches, threatening people and stringing his trial out for weeks etc... , slowly the he exposes the the REAL him to the judge and jury (if there is one), and he turns any possible sympathy they might have had against him. As you can see, they threw the book at him with a stiff sentence. Had he played it differently and claimed a crime of passion or something similar and forgone all the melodramatics and weaseling with the money he might have gotten a lighter sentence.
