Thanks for the video. The thread was nowhere near top mount after compression. Then video cut to threading top nut on. How did you get the compressor grips on the top coil of the spring under tension. How did you get that last few inch? That is the hard part where I am stuck. At least show the entire hard bits.

Unfortunately, we cannot show all the nuances and problems when replacing them, this is all individually and it is not always possible to solve them at home. To avoid this, we always recommend making replacements at specialized services.

I just had to do the same job - everyone that videos this repair skips this section in their videos for some reason, making the job impossible to replicate.
I stood over and pulled up on the shock piston whist someone else tightened a hose clamp onto it at the base, with some rubber tube underneath to stop it scratching. This prevented the shock from retracting, and meant the shock was extended by a couple of inches, which was the difference between getting the locknut on or not. Good luck, hope this helps!

@@shaunh227 bro literally, im stuck. I cannot get enough compresson to screw the top strut mount on. No matter how much i try to push down on it and i cant get it. So basically I should find other tools to compress the top strut down too? This guy is right, they skipped over that showing it half a inch down smh HOW!?!?! How did they do u that 😭😭

@@charlesfullmer4662 hey bud, I had to pull the shock arm upwards to get it to meet the nut on top. I had a heavy duty compression tool and the coils were all touching they were compressed down so much. I had a chain wrapped through it too for safety in case it let go. Gently clamping and pulling up the shock arm was the ticket though.

Quick Question, why don't you use locktite on those bolts, please explain?

The torque wrench is clearly heard to click, and yet the mechanic continues to turn the bolts after the click! Also, the use of copper based grease is not recommended between steel and alloy. The copper causes an electrolitic reaction creating corrosion.

Good. Thanks for sharing. But way to much spray. IMO mostly unnecessary.
