Thanks for the reply to my previous question. Your video is perfect of how to replace wheelbearings, BUT you forgot to show how to replace the Wheelbearing seal. After replacing my bearings I had ABS/BAS/ESP light come on. After serious investigation, Firstly I did not know about the ABS Sensor/pulse Ring in the hub seal. I was told that you MUST be very careful with that ring, Firstly, you must NOT tap it in, you have to press it in, Secondly, you must NOT use a ferrous tool to press it in it has to be plastic/nylon/wood, also depth is important, if gap between sensor and ring is too large, then it won't pick it up, and it HAS to be level/straight. Those things are extremely important to show in your video. I had to purchase a complete kit again, just to get the new sensor ring.
Thank you for your feedback @markusb2743. So the seal has to go first on the spindle base or is it part of the hub? @3:28
I'm guessing it's the top black ring here? www.fcpeuro.com/public/assets/products/249614/large/MER-2093300325-2.jpg
I just did mine and have the esp bas abs error. My hubs came with seal already pressed in and looks to be in all the way already.
Восхитительная работа
Great video! How do you know how to tighten that last nut? Put wheel on, make sure the wheel spins freely, take wheel off, and then tighten?
The video is really helpful especially if you have all the tools.
Nice fitting
Thank you very much
Very good job

Good 👍👍👍
Nice

super video, one thing - after adjusting the clamp you don't show retightening the clamp bolt before replacing the dust cover
I thought the same thing at first, but it's there around the 12-13 minute mark. Though no torque spec is provided on that bolt in the video. I believe it is 8 or 9 nm
Great vid. Is it recommended to replaces the races or can you get away without it?
It is generally desirable to replace, but if the old one is in good condition, then you can safely use it.

What is the make and model of that 3-jaw puller? I can not find one like it and the style of the ones I have do not work.
You can get acquainted with the puller at the link www.autodoc.co.uk/force/13659444?search=FORCE%20External%20Puller%20(6590203)

Do you have to replace the sleeves that the bearings sit in as I don’t have a press? Thank you
This is the same on a W204. Dont grease the bearings like he did, nothing came on the rollers
What are the torque settings for all the different bolts?
You can find this information in the technical documentation for the repair of your car.
Do we not pack wheel bearings anymore?
Thank you for your comment!
Please could you clarify or rephrase your question and we will be able to help you.

Hes right you didnt force grease into the bearing. You smeared it like a nub to be honest. Grease in palm of hand. With other hand pull the cage to one side and smack it into the grease until the great squeezes out the top.
I serviced the front wheel bearing on my 2001 C-class as per your video. I did install a non OEM seal in the process and now I have an ABS warning on the car. Could it be because of the non OEM wheel bearing seal I fitted? Appreciate your reply, thanks.
The most likely problem is in this.
If you contact our Customer support department and we will be happy to help you find the right parts by their OEN numbers.

Got the same problem. A friend of my bought the wheel bearing. I mounted it, followed the video here. But now the ABS sensors at the front wheels doesn`t get a signal.
He bought some Ridex bearing kit.
@@hakonflgstad1127 My solution was to buy the original seals (at high cost!) and when I fitted the OEM seals, the problem of the ABS issue went away!
someone talked about an ABS pulse ring in the hub seal, it has to be installed leveled and at the proper depth or it wont work or will throw errors, worse yet itll break lol
normal benz stuff
Just wondering how everything slipped off so effortlessly for you. I have a car that is probably not as old as that and even when I have the rotor on for a day it gets seized on a bit. I am hoping my wheel hub can come off so easy but not sure. I don't even live in a rust area.
We cannot show all the nuances and problems during replacement; this is all individual and it is not always possible to solve them at home. To avoid this, we always recommend that replacements be carried out by specialized car services.
They break everything loose before filming. They then go back & basically "finger-tighten" everything, then they make the videos.
I've seen them state this multiple times on other vids. Done for filming efficiency.
I replaced me front wheel bearings and now my ESP and ABS light comes on and can't be cancelled, what have I done wrong. I have a W203 C230 Compressor Coepe' I changed my bearings because my car has a terrible shudder when I brake, the Discs is brand new
There is a possibility of incorrect installation or damage to the sensors. Without proper diagnostics it is difficult to say for sure, we recommend contacting the service.
Must use factory parts, not aftermarket for this application.
The magnetic tone ring is often not present on aftermarket units, & the wheel speed sensor is left without a signal to read. This is what causes your fault, given the rest of the job was done correctly & nothing got dirty or damaged in the process.
*Hi you used multipurpose grease but should you have used high temperature resistant grease as these bearing will heat up when in motion 😐 **7:40*
Thank you for your comment.
You are absolutely right, we just used a special grease with a wide temperature range of application 21909 FEBI BILSTEIN.

The grease he uses is from Mercedes look up Mercedes wheel bearing grease and it should be in a little white tube
👌👏

Witamy, dziękujemy za istotny komentarz. Weźmiemy to do uwagi podczas nakręcania następnych filmików.
This video leaves out many critical details. Firstly, Mercedes specifies a precise amount of grease to ensure it will circulate within the hub. Next, the bearing play was not set with a dial gauge. Finally the locking screw was not set on the bearing retaining nut. If this were my car, I would never return to this shop.
lmfaooo they just left an autogenerated comment. Come on every benz Stealership is just like this anyways and would charge $$$$
That is not the proper way to adjust the wheel bearings. You need a dial guage indicator to check the play and is indicated in the Mercedes repair manual
Please specify the time of the piece from the video in which you are interested in.
@@autodocuk your procedure at 10 when you are seating the bearings. This is typical for older vehicles like GM how you show but shouldn't rough in on Mercedes like that.
You should set the bearing preload on a Mercedes with a dial gauge indicator.
what a professional job well done
