This video shows how easy it is to replace the front hood lift supports on a Porsche Boxster. This procedure should be nearly identical on all modern Porsche models. It is a good idea, while you are replacing the hood struts to lubricate the hinges on the hood and the hood latch with white lithium grease.

I replaced the lid/hood struts on my Porsche Panamera 2011 today after watching this video. It works exactly the same as in the video and was easy to do. I removed the clip completely and the strut slipped out of the ball joint.

clean and grease the ball sockets prior to fitting the new gas struts and take care not to scratch the paint work :)

Always use lube on your strut....lol
