I have a 2017 991.2 and my hood just hit me in the head. Awesome job. It was still under warranty and Porsche said it was ok. I tried many years ago on a 944 by myself and had no idea you can not compress the strut. Great job and love your jokes too.

While I have no opinion on how greasy anyone’s balls should be, I found this video very helpful. Two things to add. One, if you lean on or touch lots of things when you work (like me) throw a cover on the fender. Two, if you can’t turn the strut ends by hand with them loose, put the bottom ball in, then use a two-handed grip to adjust the top socket to fit over the ball. Changed mine in about ten minutes after watching you guys. Thanks!

My dealer quoted $195 plus labor. Labor is $175 so $400 for my porsche.
