You know what I’ve found to be the biggest difference between a good teacher and a run of the mill teacher when it comes to specialized skills training, this is my opinion and strongly based on my own learning abilities i have noticed that if a teacher does something a certain way for a reason like modifying a technique, if that teacher doesn’t demonstrate what happens without using that technique and just tells me to do it this way I am more inclined to try it an easier way even if I’m told not to i personally need to see why i can’t do it that way like i mean witness the actual result and maybe that is my twisted mind but it seems the only way i know how to learn is through mistakes either mine or someone else’s and obviously it’s better to learn from someone else’s 😂
This video was very helpful! I’m an absolute beginner and thought I’d try wrapping my prosthetic knee and pylon in a carbon fibre wrap to match my socket. I tried wrapping areas of my knee and it was so intimidating! After watching your examples I feel confident that I can do it!
It's also worth mentioning that when you wrap, you want to stretch the material as much as you can w/o heat, and then only add heat when needed. Too many people rely on heat to stretch the material, which results in over stretching. And by doing that, it will always want to return to normal, when re-heated by the sun. By stretching it as much as possible w/o heat, it can't shrink itself back down later on when it gets hot, because it was never over stretched with heat in the first place.
Late reacrion but does that mean i shouldn't use heat at all? Got some small things i wanted to wrap l so i just press it all down without heat? (Since they are small things i can cut it out on perfect size)
@@Alice58302 only use heat when you have to. ie in corners. Remember if you use heat to slightly stretch the film to allways post heat the area so it can shrink back into place before trimming 👍

It takes practice and the vinyl isn't set right away so you can lift and set a few times although it sounds like you're ripping off the whole panel with it. Lol. Like the other person said it could be the brand/type of wrap. Try something thicker. Just be patient. What I found interesting was the squeegee pressure. I used avery gloss black for a roof the other day and I got wrinkles. With avery gloss black being as thin as it is, I actually felt that I was putting to much pressure and was stretching / pushing the film forward causing wrinkles. So I made it stick first before applying more pressure. It worked, but it is an extra (unneeded?) step.

THANK YOU!! Corners have been my worst nightmare but now I understand, been doing it all wrong lol. CK Wraps you have helped me sooo much as I start out in this industry.
Love your videos man. So much free knowledge is appreciated. My first wrap on my GTO I definitely encountered all 5 mistakes 😂 it's ok I learned now to re wrap in pearl white
How hard was it? I’m wrapping mine in white as well
@@derekbigpowers1993 most of the car is pretty easy. Lay in the dimple on the doors don't stretch into it. It's the rear bumper that's a bitch. I ended up doing it in 3 pieces
Thanks Christian for sharing your professional trick of the trade of car wrapping techniques for newbie like myself; I wasted so many films wrapping my Saleen; with your valuable information, I'm going to try again.
I see, so when your hands are in the right place you're less likely to stretch and distort and more so spreading the vinyl out to lay it down. Thanks man!
this is one of the reasons why my school and university was not enough. Great share, thankyou
Just wrapped my first part (jet ski storage lid). Actually wasn’t that difficult. Def some learning, though, and your vid was a huge help! Helped me not be afraid to go for it. 3M’s 2080 film is awesome! Gonna hit a few trim parts on my GLI next! Thanks for a great tutorial! 👍🏼
I've been a wrapper for over a year now and learned a few new techniques.
I make 4 out 5 mistakes lol.. thanks man, you're awesome
This is a fantastic video! I've never wrapped anything before but after seeing this I have the confidence to try wrapping my ZL Fairlane. Thank you so much and I wish I could give you more likes
Great tutorial....I'm doin my first wrap this weekend, only interior parts but its a start. Thank You!
You the man, this video is dope because most show you how to do things but leave out the mistakes and you end up having to figure that out yourself. Not that that’s a bad thing but now I can go in knowing what to focus on to not screw myself in the end. Thanks bra
I really appreciate this video. I've had some vinyl and heat gun for sometime now. Mainly haven't tried to wrap yep because I don't wanna mess up but this video helps me wanna go ahead and try. Any advice on wrapping car badges and emblems without removing them from the car?
Thank you Im learning to wrap now with my own cars and this vid already taught me how to fix a lot of my mistakes.
Thanks a lit chris, whith your amazing vids I wrapped my car and it looks great! All thanks to you.
Upload pics bro!
Thanks for tips wrapping, now I’ll try to continue my trunk wrapping, you’re such a good teacher Sir, God bless you more and thanks for sharing your knowledge 👍🏼😊
I put on a hood design on my Jeep & also did a minor design using design line on my work truck (freightliner cascadia). All i learned was from your videos. Gotta say, my 1st 2 attempts at "wrapping" were a success in my book. Of course there's some minor flaws. They were my 1st & 2nd attempts after all lol my next 2 attempts will be laying a piece on the hood of my truck, which shouldn't be too bad. But i am also going to try to wrap the chrome grill on the truck black. That will be a challenge. Will be good practice for laying in recesses. Keep up the good work 👍
Thanks. I wanted to learn how to wrap my side view mirrors.
Sounds simple enough to do on my car. Have the advantage of all late 80's/ early 90's cars just being boxes on wheels.
We need people like you🤩 Love your advice and tutorial on it🥰❤️
This is vinyl wrapping gold. Thank you for sharing your knowledge
Very informative for the beginner/layperson. Thanks for posting.
You are the man! I don't leave comment often but this video is so helpful for my project! Nice watch by the way!! Thank you!!!
Clear and to the point and I appreciate you showing the wrong technique + the correct technique 👌
Great tips thanks. I watch a video you did wrapping a laptop lid, it was helpful but i just can't get the corners without wrinkles , i done about 30 now. Any chance you could do a detailed one for the corners. Cheers from Australia.
Thank you so much. I'm going to try wrap my own car myself. Because getting it wrapped is so expensive and your video on it gave me the confidence to try it myself. Once again thank you so much. From Perth Western Australia!
This is one of the best ”guides” in wrapping ive seen. Very good shown and explained! 👍🏼
I'm glad I made all the beginner mistakes so that you could show me what I did wrong The mirror was classic! I wished I would have saw this b4 I tried
I wish i had the money just to be tossing vinyl away like that . This is where i plan to be one day with my shop
I plan to vinyl wrap my CBR fairings. I found this video to be helpful.
